  • —— FLAXENSUN ——

    Soon to be King

Flaxensun could sense like a storm in the wind he was in for a chastising. He wouldn't protest it, and you bet your teeth he wouldn't hide from it. On the contrary, after the whole thing with Amberlight Flaxensun made sure to time everything perfectly. The second Briarstar returned from her last patrol, Flaxensun would whisper in Firedawn's ear to take the kittens to play on the other side of the clearing. It took a few promises of piggy backs and warnings of early bedtimes before the grumbling gremlins finally scampered after their flame-coated mom. He watches them go with a fond smile, before dropping the grin as he focuses on his brown tabby leader from the corner of his eye. Walking into a particularly solitary part of camp, Flaxensun makes sure his leader sees him before he begins to groom himself. Nonchalantly he awaits the storm that's inevitable when you curse the gods of thunder and rain. He's not afraid, for his loyalty is unwavering and the most he'll get from his transgression is a slap on the wrist and at worst a moon of apprentice duties. No, he welcomes this coming discussion- what better way to explain himself?

More than that, he needs to hear an explanation from her.

Flaxensun's loyalty to his clan and his fellow members is unwavering...is hers?

    BRIARSTAR.

  • Her fur had remained on end for the rest of the day following the tense interaction with Amberlight. Her feelings towards the bengal she-cat had shifted to distrust and anger. Flaxensun and Pantherfrost had intervened as well which left a bitter taste in her mouth. The tom's attitude had been getting out of hand recently. She viewed it as a blatant disrespect and while she couldn't say she was shocked she was certainly irritated. Patrols had distracted her enough for the remainder of the day but she had already decided that she needed to speak with the tom.

As she approached him, Briarstar tried to remember that he was the son of Sorrelstar and Nightfire. Sorrelstar was like a mother to her, which made Flaxensun like her own brother. They had never been close, but she tried to keep this mind as she attempted to simmer down the anger that she felt bubbling in her chest. She was trying so hard, but she was so close to snapping. Losing Hazelmist and Bramblelight and seeing Hornetsting return ... it had all taken quite a toll on her. Her patience was thin and she was finding herself quick to anger.

When she was only a tail-length away, the tabby she-cat cleared her throat to catch his attention. "Flaxensun, we need to talk." Her voice wavered with the emotions that were coursing through her. There were so many now that she couldn't even form a sentence to explain how she felt.

Flaxensun continues to groom himself as Briarstar approaches, when she’s close, he politely lifts his head, but his amber eyes remain slightly narrowed. She practically has steam coming out of her ears! Not the best appearance for a leader. “I figured" he said with a shrug, nodding to the private area he’d strategically waited for her in, “i thought this place could work, if your stomping didn’t catch everyone’s interest"
