    — Cranemask

    It had been nights after she had seen her brothers at the Riverclan border and she couldn't get their happiness out of her mind. They were happy... Of course they were. Whilst she was left to struggle back in Windclan, her siblings had escaped and lived an oh so happy life with her biological father. He's so great, they preached but she wanted to hear none of it. He didn't come to Windclan enough - he could of saved the rest of them too not just Oaksand and Newtleaf. Each step taken towards the Riverclan border was made with frustration and the anger that lived inside her would only grow stronger at the thought of her father caring nothing for her.

    "Rootlegs!" she roared her father's name at the Riverclan border hoping she would catch the tom so she could give him a piece of her mind. What she wasn't aware of was that her father barely ever left the clan and instead was more likely to catch another Riverclan but that didn't bother her either. Through the trees she saw a flash of dilute colours and she narrowed her sharp green eyes,"Riverclanner! Take me to that snake you call Rootlegs," she hissed at Dawnpaw as she picked up her pace to stop her in her tracks.

    // lets go!! =Dawnflight=

    ====================================================

    Slow steps were taken as Dawnpaw looked over the grass starting to grow under her paws. It was a peaceful day birds sung their songs with so much purpose, and she sat down and closed her eyes to take in the sounds. Then she heard sharp steps being taken near her and her eyelids flicked open and looked sharply around.

    She heard the cry or her father’s name coming from a cat she couldn’t quite place, she then locked eyes with the cat who roared Rootlegs name with such spite, then she started yelling at her. Dawnpaw let the fur on her neck bristle with the hostile hiss from the Windclan cat “I don’t have to take orders from a Windclan cat.” She said with a chilled tone of voice, but the pretentiousness dropped at every word. “Tell me who you are and why you want to see my father.” She was facing a warrior who obviously was not in the right state of mind proven, as she crossed over the border to stand face to face with Dawnpaw. Blue eyes locked with the green ones in front of her and a stiffness entered all her muscles.

    — Cranemask

    Cranemask stared down the vibrant eyes that laid against the similar coloured she-cat. If she wasn't going to take her to her father, she would just have to go through her. The long-legged she-cat wasted no more time and bunched her muscles together, ready to spring into action. But before she would leap off into a charge she growled in a joyous tune, "well lucky for you you're going to take orders from a Darkclanner!" and with that she set off.

    Cranemask had left her Windclan roots behind her. Her brothers had left to live with her useless excuse of a father and if they were going to abandon her why should she had to stay in the hell hole. Thundering paws threw Cranemask in the direction of Dawnpaw, tail lashing violently behind her. With every step she thought about how her father brought her into the world. Destroyed her mother's heart. Left her to raise her family with a broken parent. Never came back for them. Took the only things she loved away from her...

    "He doesn't deserve your protection!" she screamed as she pushed off the ground and with her legs outstretched on front of her tried to pin the apprentice down on her back.

  • =Dawnpaw=

    ====================================================

    Dawnpaw stood her ground, hiding her true emotion of fear at the cat, what would she do to get to Rootlegs? And then she saw what she would do. The she-cat spit out words and then went straight for Dawnpaw. He pupils became small with fear as the warrior lashed out at her, it seemed as though time and stop and she could feel her heart race faster and faster the closer the Darkclanner got to her.

    Get off Riverclan’s land!” It was the only thing she could think to say as she was pushed to the ground but the warriorYou have no rights here! Or to see Rootlegs!” The words slithered from her tight jaws. And with the words she attempted to kick with her hind legs at her attacker if she could get the warrior off of her body then she could run to camp, she assumed she was faster than the cat and could yell for some warriors. But if she couldn’t then she would have to keep the fight up and make sure she couldn’t get to camp.

    — Cranemask

    Holding the apprentice down, fiery green orbs stared daggers into the Riverclan apprentice. The hatred that fueled Cranemask could be felt in the grip she had on Dawnpaw's shoulders as she pushed her further into the ground. "Rights?" she snapped moving closer to the Riverclanner's face, "to see that pathetic excuse of a father!" as she spat her words the warrior was distracted and a kick from Dawnpaw's hind legs sent Cranemask backwards.

    The Darkclanner was born and raised in Windclan - she was even half. Their desire to run, to chase was innate and their was no way Dawnpaw could escape the enraged she-cat. If that wasn't enough, the one thing she had inherited from Rootlegs, her long skinny legs had made her one of the fastest cats alive. She steady herself and focused her eyes once more on the enemy that stood before her, "take me to my father or I will go through you to see him" she hissed taking a intimidating step closer.

    She had done it she, she got the warrior off her. Looking her over quick she realized how out matched she was in speed, she may quick but that cat looked quicker. “I won’t. And if you think I won’t fight until you leave Riverclan territory then you as stupid as a mouse!” She spat back in retaliation to her threat. A new confidence filled her chest, she had kicked the warrior off her once before, even if she wasn’t as bulky as her half brother Oaksand, she was sturdy. She had a elegant sleek frame and long fur but under it all she had muscles. She watched with a fire burning in her eyes as the cat took another step towards her, “Do you think that is a good idea?” She said as she walked to put her own face only inches from the other cat’s. She had to tilt her head up to meet her eyes but her confidence didn’t waver.

    For a moment Cranemask was able to appreciate the nobility of the cat that stood before her. She was ready to lay down her life for a member in her clan... but why? Her narrowed pupils dilated as her fury subsided by the confusion of the apprentices behaviour. "Are, are you really willing to die for Rootlegs?" she questioned, still carrying the harsh tone from when she was enraged "He is nothing but a traitor. He breaks the warrior code and pains nothing for it! So, why do you protect him?" The long legged lady stopped in her tracks and lifted her head up to display no intent on attacking until she received her answer. "Don't get me wrong, I will go through you if I have but why are you so keen on stopping me from meeting my father."

    I’d die for any cat in this clan, maybe you haven’t heard of the warrior code?Yes of course I would. And he pains enough, Starclan makes sure of it so you don’t have to!” Her words were calm at first but every word made Dawnpaw more and more mad and the end of the words were spats. Her father? More siblings, great , and this one had threatened to kill her. She loved her father, but the amount of siblings she had was getting a little tiring.

    Maybe it was time for Dawnpaw to ask some questions while the other cat was taking a breather “Your my sister. You

    look about the age of Oak and Newt so I assume MY father didn’t have another litter I’m not aware of. So if you are from the same litter as Oak and Newt you had the ability to come and be here, in Riverclan and have a good relationship with MY father?“ her words flew out fast and cold and with every word she took one step more, was she taking it too far? Would the cat in-front of her snap at the pushing back?I’m so keen on stopping you because you are a hostile cat from a different clan! You have no right to be here, unless you of course plan on joining? Which I doubt!” That was that, her tail was flared and her back was raised, she was ready to fight this stupid cat and get rid of her.

    It seemed at the sign of her letting up the fiesty apprentice would gear up to take a fight. She scrunched her face up at the first remark of how her father had struggled... He wouldn't have, not the way she believed he should. However, her expression would completely change at the mention of her having a sister. The strong she-cat on front of her was her sister? Was Rootlegs' daughter! First a sense of shock would overcome her and her eyes widened in disbelief but as she neared the independent cat was quickly switching back into a fighting stance. It shouldn't matter if we're related... right? The words kept coming and soon she recited that she knew of Oaksand and Newtleaf, her brothers! Only recently had she seen them again and my how she missed them but even then the happiness there didn't last. Not when they told her about how well their father was doing. Her eyes narrowed in anger at the suggestion of following her stupid brothers to Riverclan to be with a father who left them. HE LEFT THEM! Why would she have to be the one to move to Riverclan... Many years she lived without her father. Her sister died trying to get to him when she was too young, no way she was going to make the same mistake.

    "You know not what you are talking about..." she sneered in a dark dull tone, completely different to the frantic manner she had come in with. Maybe it was Dawnpaw's readiness to fight or the talking as if she knew everything? Either way Cranemask was no longer in an enraged fury; she was calculated about it and although she wished not to hurt a cat who didn't need to be injured, she was not above leaving. "He mated with my mother and left her to raise the kittens in Windclan. Why give him another chance? He was suppose to be the adult kid! He was suppose to be my father and he never came for me. Oaky only moved because he stupidly fell in love and Newters would follow that man anywhere. I have no desire to join the clan... I just want closure."

    And you think you know everything? She didn’t know that his mate had just died, that he now had to be strong for a whole litter of cats grieving the death of their father, A son who tried to drown himself. One of those things would be enough to break any cat but Rootlegs stood strong. Her posture only flinched when she mentioned her father leaving Cranemask’s mother, had she ever heard about that. Probably but it sounded so new. How could she defend him about that? Maybe Oak went because he fell in love but he stayed didn’t he?

    Cats make mistakes. And I doubt you are perfect. You never came for him either did you? Even and apprentice my age could make it to another clan easy enough! You had chances! Oak and Newt made a life in Riverclan. And what kind of closure is that? That he is your father? That he does care about you, though I don’t know why he would.” She knew one thing Rootlegs loved all his children, they were his whole world. She was loved just as much as the cat in front of her.

    Cranemask's head tumbled as she fought with the rage that burned inside of her. How she wanted to reach out to the cat on front of her and tear through her so she got a chance to meet her father but she had spent so much of her life looking after he siblings she wasn't going to stop then. Not even if she never even knew of her existence until then. She couldn't help note Dawnpaw's confidence and bravery. The life she owned and how easy it was for her to lay it out to protect her father. "Of course I made a mistake but it didn't leave 6 kittens without their father... He is there reason Bamboo died. She left trying to get to him when she was 6 moons and died falling through some ice." The anger in her sentence broke as her hurt shone through. She clearly held the death of her siblings as Rootlegs' fault and she just wanted to know what he had to say for it all and the longer she was left to wait the more impatient she got.

    Fiery paws shuffled as she let the memory of her mother telling her that Bamboopaw had died replay in her head. It wasn't the end either. Arguspaw had also left after he had thrown himself off a gorge only to be found by Rootlegs who she was told barely remember his son. These thought swirled around in her mind and she became visibly furious. "He maybe a changed man now cat but he still has to answer for the breaking of my family!" She hissed as her fur spiked and she arched her back. "I don't wish to fight you but I can't let you stand in between me meeting my father."
