❝ history ❞
clearkit was born in riverclan. her mother was a warrior her father lived in shadowclan and never made an effort to come around. clearkit was born alongside two stillborn kittens and because if it grew to be more independent than others. her and her mother were very close and clear trusted her with everything. clearkit did not have many friends during this period and most other kits viewed her as stuck up or snobby when in reality she was just a very shy kitten and preferred to stick to her mother. she spent a lot of time at shallow parts in the river learning to swim from her mother or just relaxing.
at the beginning of her apprenticeship clearpaw was having trouble separating from her mother. she was still quite shy and closed off to the other apprentices, however she was excelling in her training and this made them upset. one night a few older apprentices woke her up and told her that they were sneaking out of camp and invited her. desperate to make some friends she followed. they lead her out to the river and pushed her in where the current was strongest. she could hear them laughing and running away when she broke the surface to get air before she was pulled under again. she got out eventually but grew strong issues with trust from this. when she was around 9 moons she became fast friends with another apprentice named reedpaw. he helped her become more outgoing and since he was well liked he helped her reputation.
her very early warrior months were quite uneventful until she was around 14 moons. at this time her and reedsplash, formerly reedpaw, were pretty much inseparable and spent their time getting into trouble. one day they wandered too close to bloodclan territory and were caught by a few bloodclanners. clearfin tried to warn her friend but it was too late. the bloodclan cats had already gotten to him and quickly killed him. she ran all the way back to riverclan without stopping. some cats blamed her for his death and she blamed herself as well. she turned back to her mother to comfort her in this time. she spent a lot of time grieving but got back to work rather quickly to keep herself busy. when she was 16 moons she went out for a hunt alone. when she came back, she had discovered that her mother had fallen into the river and hit her head on a rock and drowned. that night she ran from riverclan and went to go join shadowclan in search of her father.
