  • The doctor was dead. There wasn't much that the lady could do for the scorched girl, hearing her breaths grow fainter every second. She had sat and watched as the doctor writhed on the ground, she wasn't sure what she could have done, actually. She had gotten up to walk closer when she heard the heartbeat slowing as well, sitting next to the other females head. In that moment she watched the doctor smile, the first emotion that had dawned on her after... forever of not feeling anything. It was warm and fuzzy and in the moment she had returned the gesture; what the doctor uttered under her breath had stuck with the robot-like lady, "my echo."

That's what she decided to call herself, actually, as she traveled across lands unknown to her. Her paws endlessly thumped against the ground as she walked, the lab was the only place she knew, the only place she had ever been. Her eyes stung and she blinked, her head tilting upwards as the sight of floating... islands crossed into her view. She unfurled her wings, thin feathers whipping against the wind as she stared, her second feeling taking over her. "This is not right, gravity does not work this way." she murmured under her breath, dumbfounded as the wind ruffled her feathers, the blue and white fur that covered her body. Confusion, major confusion as she wracked her brain for any certain answers. This just wasn't right.

  • Death and the passage of time. Two very old concepts that followed the battle-worn man through and through to the ends of the earth, that (did not plague per-say, but) never allowed the man to have a complete thought. There was always something that would haunt him. He understood what it was like, to be an echo of someone - or someone to be an echo of him. As the black leopard stalked across the expanse before him, his mind drifted off to think about his twin, soft blue eyes flitting about. Paranoid. Though he didn't know it directly, the stranger's feeling about the islands mirrored that of his own. It's such an odd thing to be witness to, albeit fitting to the rest of this land. "You there," came his gruff, grating of a voice, gravel on an unpaved road. "You mind tellin' me what you're doing up here, and what your name is? Can't just come flying up into our territory without greeting."

  • His voice was like a straight edged knife to cut through her inner panic, her ears swiveling forwards as her own eyes came to rest on his. Her wings dragged in the dirt as if they were branches as she moved forwards, stopping just before she would have hit his nose. She stared, analyzing the creature below. "Territory?" Searching for territory, word found. "This is yours?" she narrowed her eyes as she let her gaze flicker back over the great expanse of land, raising a pretend brow as she tilted her head. "I do not believe that one creature owns this much land. The doctor says that we all share." her voice was a stark contrast to his and a sound that could vaguely be described as confusion left her throat.

She let her head drop once again, staring at him. "Echo." her tone was soft, her head tilting once more. What a curious thing, is this his doing? In a land of powers, Echo found herself with two, shapeshifting and the ability to feel what those around her were feeling. A blessing, a curse, but doctor said that it made her unique. "Greeting?" her eyes never left his face, her posture stiff as if she were just a marble statue. Searching for greeting, word found. Sentences popping up now. "I am Echo. I am a protector, I come with peace." she recited what doctor told her time and time again, the doctor expressed her worry about Echo greeting others. "This is... nice land." she murmured beneath her breath. "A stark contrast from gravity, how does one do this? Is this yours?"

  • "The doctor says that we all share." Fuck, was she Foxhound? The leopard's muscles tense immediately, lips pulling back a slight ways, though not enough to show blatant hostility. He couldn't afford to have an agent here, not in the somewhat-peace he'd made himself comfortable in. But she is ... strange in her mannerisms and the way she continues on to greet him, and despite still being wary, he decides to press himself through in a calmer state. "It's not my land - it belongs to our group: Coven of Elysia," he says with a shake of his head. "Name's Solid Snake, but most end up calling me Snake." A stupid name, but it was for the sake of his own safety. Even here - even with those he'd known being dead - he understood that someone was always watching. Waiting for the soldier to make a move on the board. "Why do you speak the way you do? It comes across as very ... odd."

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ Odd was true. As Aphrodite approaches beside Snake, her gaze curiously falls on the joiner. It was as if they were unknowing of the world and the environment around them. She smiles brightly at the stranger, her whiskers twitching with amusement. "Hello there!" She chirps joyfully, "I'm Aphrodite, deputy of these lands. The Coven of Elysia is where we belong, it is a group of all sorts of creatures where we collectively coexist and take care of one another. Where are you from?" She says with a slight tilt of her head, "Perhaps you're looking for a place to stay?"

She was use to odd. Cosmicshadow thought of herself as odd. The star-pattern creature made her way over with violet hues looking over the stranger. Maybe it was the floating islands that caught their attention and brought them here. She wondered if they would end up staying for a bit. The black and white seval stayed silent as she waits for them to respond. Not bothering to give out a name till she knew they were staying. Otherwise there was no point. ""
