    4 Moons + TAGS

Everyone follows the code- Or at least they should, but there was another code that Mudkit followed that was instilled into him by his father. It was becoming clear to the young tom that he wasn't like everyone else.. When offered to play he'd have no interest and wonder 'Why would anyone do that?'. His father also noticed this but luckily he was a smart tom and knew how to guide his son. The Havana brown would always have the mile long stare of blankness but he was present, just.. Unable to convey the proper emotions because he felt none.

"Mudkit, you have to listen to me, okay? There are things about you that are different mentally, life will be a bit more difficult for you compared to others."

    "I know."

"But you can't let that show."

This would always throw off the little tom, if only he could get upset at his situation. If only he could feel and express..

    "You have to just pretend."

"Do you think.. That I'll ever be able to feel?" There was that look upon his father's face..

"I hope so, I truly hope so. Just remember our lessons."

So he'd remember everything his father taught him.. He'd play along with his siblings and other kits, always smile and crack jokes while there was still hollowness within him. To survive he had to pretend though. If anyone saw him as he was.. He'd be labelled a freak, maybe even kicked out of the clan if his thoughts worsened. The thing was he didn't mind being alone at all, he actually enjoyed it- But father said, normal cats don't enjoy being alone forever, they desire the company of others. He had to pretend that he enjoyed hanging out with others, playing beetle chase and talking gossip. His internal affairs contrasted so different from the way he portrayed himself external, his father's lessons stuck.

"It's getting cold again!" He'd exclaim after peering his head out of the nursery. Mudkit would fully slip out of the den before looking for the attention of an older cat, "Excuse me! Can we please go into the tunnels? We'll stay strictly in the ones under camp."

  • The tunnel system was always something that brought on a bit of trepdation to Honeyflower, who knew just how dangerous that they could be. It was one thing if the tunnel system hadn't already shown itself to collapse, but that, in addition with how complicated the weaving tunnels could be, it wasn't something even she wanted to find herself in if she didn't have to. But maybe she was different in that way, like Mudkit was different in his own ways. Neither of them could be blamed for their thoughts- not really- but it still wasn't a request she was imagining would be brought up by the young cat. "The tunnels?" she echoed in question as she turned her attention to Mudkit and stilled her paws where she now stood. There was a moment of hesitation on her face. "Only if you take a warrior with you and listen. The tunnels can be very dangerous if you get too far.." Her heart wanted to tell Mudkit an outright no, but that was maybe a little bit too cautious. The tunnel systems directly beneath the camp were likely to be safer, or at least a bit more well-known to the WindClanners in general. "It's far too easy to get lost and hurt in them otherwise, Mudkit."
