  • Since the last visit, things within the world of the clans have drastically changed. The snow was long gone, and for awhile the sun had driven all the prey away into hiding and disease had spread throughout the land. Any prey that had been luckily caught being either too skinny to fill the belly of a cat, or being just as good as crowfood. But it wasn't only prey that had suffered... herbs had for the most part shriveled up and died under the scorching heat. But finally... a promise of rain seemed to be drawing near as dark clouds began to flood the sky.

But the promise of rain... it wasn't coming. The clouds had been hovering over the clans for days, yet not a single drop... and Tawnykit had heard whispers that even the river was beginning to dry up.

What was going on? Was this supposed to be some type of sign from StarClan?

Perhaps the medicine cats would get an answer tonight, or a sign... something they could grasp onto.

Tawnykit begins to slow to a halt as he nears mother mouth. Some level of excitement pricked in his paws, but only a little of it was actually for getting to speak with StarClan today. Most of it, for the fact he was going to be able to speak to Birdbones... The fact she was going to be here made it hard for him to fear coming face to face with ThunderClan's medics, the clan he had attempted to steal prey from. He had already apologized to Flamestar, already had been punished, there wasn't more of a reason for them to continue to be hostile to him. Right?

So long as they didn't pick a fight with him, he wouldn't cause trouble either.

But he sure as hell wasn't going to be going by Tawnykit for this meeting, if Charcoalsmudge and Bisonpaw really wanted to enforce it he guessed they could... not really much he could do to stop the two.

At least he knew Birdbones wouldn't drive him insane by calling him Tawnykit all night, but if she did well... she was the one cat who he really wouldn't mind.

Sitting down he curls his tail around his paws and awaits for the other medicine cats to arrive at the scene.

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ This was Molly's first medicine cat gathering, and he was near vibrating with nerves. He was excited, of course, but he was also nervous that StarClan might not want to speak with him. He had grown up a loner on a farm with parents who had willingly abandoned their Clans to be together. If the fluffy tom cat had learned anything in his time with ThunderClan, it was that Clan cats, and by extension, StarClan did not take kindly to deserters. But he had come back...and Sunflowerglow had chosen him alongside Oceanpaw to take on the mantle of being the next medicine cats to guide ThunderClan. That had to count for something, right? Sunflowerglow made choices based on guidance from StarClan, so it had to be alright.

Flitting nervously, but just looking like his airy, graceful self moving about on lightfooted paws, Molly made his way towards the meeting place, blue eyes bright as he turned to look for Sunflowerglow and Oceanpaw following.

    speaking thoughts

  • Birdbones' feet were light as feathers as she walked to oh-so familiar path to the place where the cats who had cursed her with a horrid affliction and a horrid name to remind her of it dwelled. She surpassed her anger, for it would be a terrible display to show the poor young apprentices, some of which she had not seen before. The ebony girl wasn't particularly subtle about how she dropped back to walk by Tawnypaw's side, nor did she try to hide the way her eyes glowed with happiness whenever she laid eyes upon him. "I'm so happy to see you," she said to him, voice hushed but full of all the warmth she felt when he was by her side. Knowing she should at least try to save face, her lantern-like gaze fell upon the unfamiliar ThunderClan-scented apprentice, one whom she did not believe she had laid eyes on before. "Um... hello..." she said, attempting to etch the kind of warm smile that Boasong could so effortlessly display onto her own maw, though it was rather half-hearted and wavering. She'd never been too much of an expert when it had come to social etiquette and it was certain she wasn't going to change now. "Are you, uh... um, I don't think I've seen you before...?" she murmured to Molly, chest tightening as she worried she might have met the other before and had just... forgotten. How utterly embarrassing that would be!

It wasn’t nerve-wracking at all. No, Oceanpaw was completely fine.

    Nope.

He was a train wreck waiting to happen if he knew whatever it was. But he stuck closer to his den mate and mentor, his abnormally smaller size dwarfed as a ten-month old tom. Oceanpaw wasn’t sure how to react as another medic greeted Molly. He would be next, by assumption, but what would be shown was a nervous tan tabby. His gaze drifted to Sunflowerglow for affirmation, it was alright. He was chosen. By Starclan through his mentor to become a medic from being a warrior apprentice. In a way it saved him from himself as well. Taking a breath to calm himself, he tried to steady his wildly beating heart. Why was he so afraid? He should be excited for the future to come.

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ Gaze darting and head turning at the sound of Birdbones greeting him, the young, fluffy tom cat dipped his head in easy greeting to the elder she-cat. He had never met her before and did not know her name, but Laureltwist had always told him and his siblings to be polite and open-minded when meeting new cats. Mama liked to say that being kind was its own kind of disarming and that you were likely to find less resistance and less strife when you were simply kind, and Molly held that teaching from his mother close to his chest. Blue eyes shining with curiosity, he turned from where he was waiting for his denmate and mentor to catch up and faced the two cats who sat nearby.

"Hello!" Molly chirped in greeting, silver tongue letting the words flow smoothly despite his nerves. "My name is Molly - or Mollypaw now I suppose. This is my first half-moon gathering. What are your names?"

  • the young riverclan medicine would arrive in a not-so-timely manner, impeded by her current state. after taking a several month long journey chasing a premonition, she ended up finding nothing but near death. now she was back home, thin and frail, and unfit to be travelling. however, finchblossom wasn't selfish enough to prevent her apprentice from coming just because she needed rest. that wouldn't be fair. "ready, pip?" soft blues landed on the face of her apprentice, her sibling, as she lead them towards the small group.

"hello, everyone." she found herself not recognizing many of the faces presented before her, and she wondered how much had changed in just two moons. she wondered how starclan would feel about her resuming her position after being clanless for two moons, by abandoning her temporary position in skyclan. how would the other medics react?

  • Sunflowerglow was beyond excited to introduce her two new apprentices. Her eyes glimmered as she watched Molly dart on ahead and start introducing himself. Meanwhile, she'd walk side by side with Oceanpaw, silently monitoring his breathing just to make sure that nothing would happen, or if something did go a bit awry, Sunflowerglow could tend to it immediately. She had no doubt in her apprentice's abilities to learn the ways of healing and—either sooner or later—communicate with StarClan. "How're you feeling, Oceanpaw?" She asked cheerily while scanning the area. Tonight, him and Molly would be officially inducted as medicine cat apprentices. It would be a special and memorable night for the three of them. She dipped her head in greetings to Finchblossom and Tawnypaw, not knowing what punishment Juniperstar had given him. Even though Sunflowerglow was shocked and disappointed when news came back to camp, she couldn't find herself blaming him as harshly as her Clanmates had. The dramatic changes in weather had everyone feeling aloof and antsy.

  • They accompanied Finchblossom, blue eyes looking worriedly at her. RiverClan wasn't doing so hot with the river becoming concerningly low and prey having been scarce up until the storm clouds arrived upon the horizon, but Finch... she looked like she was hanging onto life by a thread! "As long as you're feeling alright." Pipitpaw nodded, feeling a bit awful knowing that Finchblossom had traveled all the way to the Moonstone with barely a day's worth of rest inbetween just for this half-moon meeting. It was alright if they missed one, right? Even though StarClan felt like it was breathing on their neck for being poor believers as a whole, despite RiverClan's efforts and new rituals, StarClan should be reasonable enough to let RiverClan's returning medicine cat the chance to rest her paws.

Swallowing his nervousness, he glanced at his mentor. Still, he barely reached past their shoulder. It made him sad and angry he was so small in stature. But then again, it couldn’t be helped. But his anxiety was at its peak. The situation and meeting the other clan medics scared him and truth be told, he was always a nervous child. Even when Shimmersong and then, Sheepstar, had picked up the malnourished ball of fur. “N-n-nervous.... so-sorry Sunflowerglow. I can’t be like Mollypaw....” He wasn’t necessarily ashamed of his state, but it drove him to become better and somehow braver. Taking his own breathing to account, he tried to calm down. Trying to place a small smile on his maw as a greeting to the others.

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ Winding his way back around to Sunflowerglow and Oceanpaw, Molly forced his skittering, graceful paws to a halt beside Oceanpaw and sent the other apprentice a beaming glance. He could practically feel the other's nervous energy radiating in the space around them, so the fluffy tom offered a barrier of familiarity and drew attention his way while also sticking close. It wasn't much, and Oceanpaw probably wouldn't appreciate it, but Molly was almost as nervous - just in a different vein.

    speaking thoughts

  • As cats from different clans began to pour in, including three new faces from ThunderClan and RiverClan combined his attention seeming locked onto Birdbones the moment she made it to the scene. The moment his gaze landed on her fur a joyful shimmer could be seen in his eyes and a toothy smile was on his face for a few moments. Something that would probably surely weird Bisonpaw and Charcoalsmudge out if they seen... he really had not been all that cheery recently. "Birdbones... hi." He greets her with a twitch of his whiskers, but as her gaze turns to one of the newer medics his smile drops.

    Oh yeah...

Even here they couldn't act as close as they really would could they? He hated it, being in her presence yet not being able to talk to her like they would when alone. Even if they were... just friends. So technically what did they have to hide? Well uh...

Maybe the fact that Tawny clearly seen Bird as... more.

Cats would probably grow their suspicions fast.

But he overhears one of the new ThunderClan medicine cats state their name, Mollypaw. The name makes him nearly narrow his eyes in confusion, Mollypaw? Molly? As in a she-cat?

He almost cant help himself but ask- but he manages to bite his tongue. He needed to play it safe with ThunderClanner's... he didn't need them mistaking his question for disrespect and reporting it to Flamestar and- oh god.

"Um. Hello." He greets a feline hes never seen before in confusion, she looked old enough to be a full medicine cat and smelled of RiverClan... But from what he knew RiverClan only had one medic, Pipitpaw. But the others seemed to be giving her nods as if they've already become acquainted with her, "Are you uh, new here? I haven't seen you before." As he says so he takes note of Sunflowerglow had given him a nod which made him partially relieved... at least he was safe from hostility here for tonight. As the she-cat talks he catches her other apprentices name, Oceanpaw. He gives the nervous tom a nod before getting up from where he sat and pads to stand beside Birdbones.

But... making sure he was far enough away so no one thought it was too close. Uh...

"I know not everyone is here yet but... should we head inside? I'm sure they'll know to meet us there... but the night is growing later, I don't think we should delay for much longer."

Better late than never. The ashen medicine cat picked his way up to the group, nodding to those he recognized as he did. “Sorry im’late”, he muttered, words slurred together. It had been awhile since he had attended one of these meetings, though it had never occurred to him until that point. Aside from Finch- whim he shot a smile towards-, who had helped him more than he could ever express, Charcoalsmudge was ashamed to admit that he didn’t recognize many of these faces. “Uh, hey everyone...”, he finally sighed, giving his best version of a smile.

    description ★ "speech"thoughts

  • Tawnykit would give a brief nod to Charcoalsmudge once he appeared at the scene, a long moment of silence had washed over them though... Do... we not want to go in? He wonders to himself awkwardly, but it seemed almost everyone was here now. So they should continue. "Um... lets get inside guys yeah? Not everyone has arrived but we don't have much choice anymore. Time still moves forward and all." Without much of another word he turns around and vanishes into the cave. It was dark... but after being here a couple times now it didn't bother him at all navigating through it with his whiskers.

Without bumping into any cave walls, he steps into the caves clearing where the moonstone was beautifully lit by the moonlight. Even after seeing it three times now- he was in awe with how beautiful it was. With a smile, he sits down and looks around assuming other medicine cats were pooling within the cave and taking a seat as well. "Does anyone have anything they need to announce? If not we should visit with StarClan now..."

  • boasong was late- how could he be late to a half-moon meeting, of all meetings? honestly... he needed to do better with his time management. windclan didn't need one of their medicine cats slacking off. next time he'd make sure to get here early. his heart skipped a frantic beat when he scurried up to the entrance of mothermouth, only to find that no one was there. had they already started? he wanted to rush down into the darkness, apologize profusely to his fellow medicine cats for being late, but birdbones wasn't here yet. his eyes darted between the cave and the moorlands behind him, torn between what to do. should he wait for her, or should he carry on as to not entirely miss the meeting? it was a hard decision, but... sorry, birdbones.. i hope you won't be upset with me. he dives into the shadows of mothermouth, his whiskers his only guide as he traverses the tunnel. soon, the light from the moonstone filtered in through the darkness. voices drifted towards him, giving him hope that he hadn't missed the entire meeting just yet, and he picked up his pace.

"so sorry! i'm so sorry, i'm late, i know-" called the bobtail as he burst into the opening, skidding to a halt. he breathed a shaky laugh as eyes undoubtedly turned towards him, one ear folded back. "birdbones will be here soon. uh, it's so nice to see you all!"

he's just in time to hear tawnypaw's question. does anyone have anything they need to announce? a small frown now pulls at the nervous smile he'd worn previously. he hated to announce this, of all things, but... "hawkmoth.. has been demoted. birdbones and i have taken over as full medicine cats of windclan." he wished he could be happier about his promotion. it was hard, though, knowing that his mentor wouldn't be standing beside him anymore.

  • She would walk in silence as they approached Mothermouth, her yellow eyes glowing as she padded, lost in thought. Heading through the threshold, luminous eyes wide in awe, she stepped forward, stuttered breaths shuddering from her half-open maw in the cold. She always forgot how freezing it always was in this place; though, her breath was immediately stolen from her by Tawnypaw- Tawnykit, whatever- taking charge of the situation. A sigh of relief and something other left her maw, and her eyes glowed when she looked at him. But, the moment that Boasong spoke, her expression hardened and her eyes once gain fixed upon something beyond sight. Hawkmoth was so kind, so gentle, and had welcomed her into this duty when she feared she would never stand to be a useful member of WindClan. Where, where had he gone?

And... she had an announcement of her own. She tightened her jaw. "I am not going to dream with StarClan tonight." she murmured in the silence, her voice comparatively quiet though audible in the stillness of the air.

  • tail draping over her apprentice's shoulders, she herded them towards mothermouth. finchblossom wasn't necessary thrilled to be here. starclan's false prophecies had caused her and her family pain and suffering, and she was angry at the stars above for wasting her time so. either way, these were her sacred duties whether she wanted to do them or not.

her attention shifted to a medic she did not recognize (blame her moons of being away), and a soft breath escaped from her lungs. she had no idea what fueled such a decision, but given her current feelings towards their ancestors, finchblossom couldn't say she blamed her. after a moment of two, she decided to share her own bit of news in hopes of lightening the mood a bit. "pipitpaw is almost finished with their training... come next half-moon, they'll be a full medic." there was no effort to hide the pride she held for her apprentice and sibling.

  • "I have two apprentices that I'd like to present to StarClan." She announced after Finchblossom. She stuck close to Oceanpaw as they descended into the Mothermouth, hoping to give him some confidence. She eyes were awestruck at the soft glow of the Moonstone. Does it become prettier each half-moon meeting? Silently, she wondered if anyone has ever witnessed it during the full moon. Surely it must be blinding? They were lucky that the Mothermouth was untouched by twolegs; they tended to destroy everything they touched. Sometimes, even the cats who came back acted differently.
