  • Little sniffles came from the girl as she wandered through the grand ruins that housed the Flights. Each step of her's was quietly placed but equally quick as she paced back in forth behind the scenes in order to prepare for the task of giving tasks out. Before all of this, she would have been more excited - ecstatic, even - to be the one honored of bossing everyone around for the day. And maybe some dying part of her still was, but now she'd been crying, and her eyes were puffy, and she looked ugly. She wasn't entirely sure if she could do it, anymore. If not for the fact that now everything seemed so daunting, then for the fact that it would be oh so embarrassing for her to go up there looking like that. But she had to do it. She didn't want to let Mister Atlas or Miss Freya down - not when things had been so hard, lately. So she would try. Just for them. They'd be happy to see her doing better, wouldn't they? Yes they would. Amelia would be proud, too.

With a deep breath and feeling a little more determined, poor little Elowen would stand up straighter and use a delicate paw to wipe and dry her tears from her face. She rolled her shoulders back, and she steadied her breathing, and she counted to ten. Another deep breath, another determined thought, another moment. 'M going to be okay. Of course she was. Even if it hurt to be, she would. If not for Amelia then for everyone here now.

"Friends!" she called, "Friends and family!" her voice wobbled again, but she put on a bright smile and continued on. Everything was fine. Perfectly fine, she determined. And it would be until this was over with. No more tears until then. "'M giving out weekly tasks!" That was good enough, right? With a quiet hum the half-blind girl would hop up on to one of the railings that resembled a podium and she balanced herself up high -- nearly tumbling, at first -- before sitting down uneven and unsteadily upon the small thing. Curling her tail, the young girl would keep her balance and her smile, and wait for anyone who wanted one to arrive.

Maybe it would help her to be the boss for the day.

  • โœฆ Freya took slow, careful strides towards the younger girl as the announcement of weekly tasks rang in her rounded ears, doing her best not to break open any of her injuries. She was still new to the concept of these tasks, but it was exciting to her to have a job to distract her from everything else going on. That was if Elowen could find something she was capable of doing covered in wounds head to tail. As she approached, she could recognize the remains of swollen eyes on her apprentice, and a guilty sting bothered her heart as she remembered that she was likely part of the reason for that. What terrible timing everything was, all falling at once. Usually she would have expected Elowen to be literally hopping up and down at the opportunity to be in charge of everyone, but it wasn't realistic to expect that from the half-blind feline right now. At the very least, the mountain lioness trusted that it would give her something to be excited about. "I'll take a task, El," She requested as she placed herself in front of Elowen's chosen podium.

The red fox approached very quietly. She was happy to see El back on her feet after how upset and distraught she was just a few days ago. Giving the younger female a little encouraging smile, she sat down beside Freya. "I'll take one too, if you don't mind."

"I'll take one!" the canine cheerfully said as he padded over, a lopsided smile on his face.

  • "Miss Freya!" Elowen would exclaim excitedly as soon as she saw her beloved mentor, standing up taller upon her tower to get an (even better) look at her. Her smile was bright - woes pushed down and further forgotten for the moment. It was so good to see her again - not nearly unconscious and covered in blood. But on that note, the woman still looked awful, and at that she deflated just a bit. Her smile would falter only slightly, but she made sure to keep her chipper attitude, tail flicking to and fro behind. It wouldn't help to be a downer on her mentor whens he was already so troubled, would it? No - no it wouldn't help at all.

Okay.. so what could Freya do? There was a brief moment when her lips would purse together, and she'd give a soft hum in thought. Patrols were out of the question, so was anything with actual labor. This was tricky, wasn't it? "Oh, FREYA RHOSYN -!" she would begin, after deciding on a rather easy-going task. "How 'bout we host a picnic together! You can choose the spot an' get the blankets and 'll take care of the food." the girl would explain with a smile. Surely, choosing a spot wouldn't be too difficult. Neither would she have to carry anything but blankets - and those could be tossed on her back. Oh, what a perfect plan, wasn't it? That way Elowen could take care of her and keep an eye on her while doing something fun. A great plan indeed.

At the approach of her first (and only) fox friend, the girl's smile would broaden once more, and she'd give a gentle wave of her paw. The choice proved to be almost fatal as she lost her balance and nearly went tumbling down to the ground, but she was able to recover, and perk back up as if she hadn't just almost lost her life (even though her perch truly wasn't too far off the ground). " Rhapsody Valentine ! ! Rhapsie! I 'ave a perfect plan, " the cheery girl would begin. "Would ya min' making friendship bracelets for everyone? Maybe like.. like how you'd make a flower crown, but 'n bracelet form? Yeah." Not the most eloquent way to ask, but she'd done well enough, she thought. She didn't trip over her words so much, and at least she wasn't crying. That would be embarrassing. Improvement, at least.

Next came over a dog - a completion to their feline, not exactly canine not exactly feline, and canine gathering. What were foxes even considered on that scale anyway? Oh well - dogs were easy enough to identify. "Hey, mister - 're DOPA , right?" the girl would venture, shoulders rolling back as she thought of a task to give this stranger-man. "'M Elowen. Anyways, are'ya good at hunting? If you are, you should do a.. a hunting patrol, or somethin'. Or, 'f you're bad at it like me, maybe you can host a game like.. truth or dare," the girl would suggest with an animated shrug. She didn't know him too well, so she wasn't exactly keen on knowing what he liked or was good at. So at least she was giving him options. She was doing good at being boss, wasn't she? After such a stressful last couple of days, this felt.. good. Maybe she could put this into her list of things to do when she was sad. That was much better than sitting there and crying.
