  • Soojin could not recall the last time that he had slept well. Being on the move for so long, rarely having a comfortable place to stay, it most certainly had taken its toll on his body. He was by no means a child, much preferring to refer to himself as a young adult now though he had always been babied by those around him for his pacifistic and reserved nature. There was something that he missed about peaceful communal life, that perhaps being the reason why he felt so drawn to Hyperia. As far as he had been made aware, they were neutrally aligned though, unlike some, were not inclined to start petty conflict. That was something that he could most certainly get behind, always finding that the groups who neither claimed to be the good in the world nor the bad had the most interesting selection of strangers to meet. Making new friends, painted as such a childish concept to him and still, the fluffy samoyed can not help but feel an uncharacteristically giddy sense of excitement burn within his chest as he contemplated who he might see here and what friendly faces may choose to willingly keep his company. He was absolutely elated already.

    "Hello, my name is Soojin, I wish to join." Gentle canine calls out into the lands stretched out before him as he comes to a halt on the group's borders. Sky blue eyes peer up at floating isles with undeniable fascination though he keeps himself contained for the time being as he sits and hopes that another had heard his words, always finding repetition to be incredibly uncomfortable. And in any case, he oftentimes found that strangers would grow irritable should you linger on their borders to wait for them to offer some words of greeting. Instead, here, he decides to take matters into his own paws to make life easier for whoever may stumble upon him. Short, sweet, and to the point. That's how others prefer him to be, right?

  • not going out and looking for a fight was what mike liked. he couldn't stand fighting, not that he was a pacifist, he wasn't. he was just too lazy to go out and actually waste his time on combat. and he definitely wouldn't be the type of guy to try and throw witty quips back and forth with the enemy as they fought. he also couldn't imagine himself living anywhere besides blizzardclan so even if they were the type to start a fight he probably couldn't find himself leaving anytime soon.

    "soojin, huh? well, i'm mike, welcome to the isles," woofed the hybrid lethargically, a jagged smile tugging at his lips as he greeted the newcomer. eyeing up the extremely fluffy hound he subtly glanced down at his own fur, matted and dirty, leaves littered his white and black coat. he was surprised that soojin, with all that wild long white fur, was so clean. "if you need anything just ask, it's, uh, my job." maybe he should start cleaning his fur?

  • Hyperian Isles was and always would be the home for me. I still questioned why I had ever left, but I was here now and didn't plan on ever leaving. Making my daily rounds by the boats, I approached not long after Mike with a smile on my face as I dipped my head to Soojin. "Your name is Korean, right? Do you speak any?" being of Korean descent myself, I was extremely curious. "I'm Erasmus Adamo, the leader. We'd be pleased for you to join us."

  • Surprisingly, he does not need to wait long before someone is drawn over. Crystalline gaze shifts from looming isles onto the monochrome stranger that approaches him, kind smile a kiss forever pressed against the samoyed's lips. Any fear of rejection that might have begun to bubble up within his chest is quickly shot down when both introduction and greeting is spoken, relieved sigh escaping him. He remains quiet as they talk to him, drinking in each and every word as though it were holy gospel, nodding lightly at every piece of significant information.

    "It is very nice to meet you, Mike," polite canine hums, dipping his head to the lax hybrid in visible display of respect. Growing up, he had always been one for holding all those around him in the highest esteem. Anyone who was not him should be seen as a figure of authority, after all, and that is something that he holds close to him even though he has moved on from his place of origin. Even the way that his fur remained pristine in spite of the fluffy and wild way that it stuck out at all angles was an indication of this respect, not for himself but for those who may look upon him. He would not want to be an unpleasant mess in the way of someone's view, thus taking much pride in his looks. Certainly, this was all byproduct of persistent childhood pressure which he had and still was quite oblivious to, the constant instructions to keep himself neat, tidy, and out of the way weigh heavy on his subconscious.

    "Oh no, thank you but I wouldn't want to be a burden or anything," he says suddenly, eyes widened a tad as if the offer of help had been entirely unexpected, "I mean, I know it's your... job, but don't mind me. Just point me in the direction of your main camp area and I am sure that I'll get along just fine."

    Another approaches as he finishes talking, however, the canine's attention snatched as query into his name and knowledge of languages is made. "Ah, yes. Korean is my native language though I haven't really... spoken it for a while," he admits rather sheepishly. Travelling by himself for a while meant that he had not really needed to talk any language though English had most certainly been his go to when conversing with other travellers to ask for directions and whatnot. Curiosity flares up in him at such a question though, the canine tilting his head to the side as he speaks up, "Do you speak Korean? It'd be nice to have someone to talk to after all this time."

    He finds himself rather enthralled in the topic at hand, promise of speaking in his mother tongue once more a tantalising prospect. Very quickly does he catch himself, straightening up once his brain registers who, exactly, he is talking to. Hyperian leader. And here he is, being oh so foolishly casual. Mentally reprimanding himself, Soojin feels the warmth of gratification blossom in his chest as such a significant individual here outright states that they would be pleased to have him among their ranks. Him. Hong Soojin. Good-for-nothing who had only ever been in everyone's way. It's a weird feeling, delight. Something he is not used to. But still, he smiles anyways. "Thank you, I appreciate the warm welcome and it is a pleasure to meet you as well, Erasmus."

  • — Pillow had been doing her best to quietly follow Erasmus, being on a mission to scare him. She was glad to see her dad up and about again after his bout of illness, and so she figured a nice way to commemorate his return to good health was to spook him. A little fear was always a good time, at least that's what she had heard someone say once. Pillow didn't quite like being scared, but maybe Erasmus would. However, just before she could go about her master plan, she noticed that he was no longer alone. No, Erasmus was talking to someone. Curiosity got the better of the young girl and she abandoned her task, opting to instead greet her father and the others he was talking to.

    A smile adorned the sand cat's features as she stood close to her father, shooting him a bright smile before looking over at the joiner. He seemed nice enough; a fluffy white blob, though a shorter one than Mike. " 안녕하세요 I'm Pillow. 만나서 반갑습니다." the girl would greet. Through her biological parents and Erasmus, she had grown up speaking both English and Korean. It came in kind of handy in these situations.

    안녕하세요 = hello

    만나서 반갑습니다 = nice to meet you

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ hyperia hadn't always been his home, but it had become his most permanent place of residence. he'd skipped around a few groups before settling down among the floating islands, only recently uprooting himself just a little bit in order to join the sanctuary. the peace here seemed to draw upon any calm soul, and soojin would be no exception. the vupline offers the newcomer a bright smile, listening in on the conversation he doesn't understand. "ni hao! wo de míngzì shì spiritline," he chirps, deciding to join in the 'game.' "i'm a crusader and cleric's apprentice here. if anything aches or if you need a friend, come find me!"
