“You guys have fun!” Mario waves as they left

Maverick nodded and turned as he and Eva walked out slowly.

Mario turned to Sonic “Hey there lil man. I know you like Luigi more than me, but he couldn’t come tonight. He had to stay behind and make advertisements to put I the paper

Sonic nodded slowly before looking back towards his paper, continuing his mindless scribbling.

“Whatcha wanna do? Wanna watch a movie... or read a book or..?”

"I... I might just continue my colouring..." He murmured quietly, eyes weakening.

“Somethin’ up dude? You’re usually not this quiet”

He shrugged weakly with soft eyes.
"Sometimes... sometimes mum's condition gets worse..."

“You’re worries about her, aren’t you?” He asked with soft eyes

Sonic slowly nodded, his ears flattening sadly.

Mario then got an idea “Hey. How about you and I go to the zoo in the Musbroom Kingdom? It might help you take your mind off things.”

He tilted his head, eyes soft.
"Huh? Ok..."

Mario nodded, offering a hand to him

Sonic nodded, standing up and softly taking his hand.

The duo returned to the house from the zoo just as Eva and Maverick returned from their date
