  • It was always painful to see your little ones grow up, Virgo supposed. It was inevitable, a curse that every parent had to suffer through— Virgo knew that she would never be done being a mom, but she would admit that not having three little clumsy kits around made her lonely. They were off being trained and playing with friends, playing in places further and further away, while Virgo was… in camp. Every day. She didn’t mind being chained to camp too much, though. She still occupied the nursery and was proud to give her advice to new mothers. Seeing other healthy and happy babies always reminded her of her own; it was nice.

An NPC queen nodded to Virgo as she wandered off, leaving her kits with the red molly. ”Take- take c-care!” Virgo called out as the NPC smiled, running up ahead to join her friends. Virgo huffed, then smiled back. Virgo was glad to give her a break; every mother deserved some alone time, she supposed. A chuckle escaped her as the NPC kits tumbled about, playing and laughing themselves.

  • MOTTLEWISH

        - The mottled queen watched as Virgo took the responsibility of the other queen's kittens. It was really something unexplainably beautiful to have them there laying or jumping around on their clumsy little paws, swishing their tails with such energy. It made her happy, really happy even though the kits weren't her own. There were many little joys in raising those balls of sunshine and emotion.

She leaned closer towards the younger queen. "Hey Virgo, how are you doing?" she meowed in question, eyes softly reflecting from the light of the outside world. It really was pretty nice being cozy and warm in here, although Mottlewish liked being out of camp and meeting other cats too. Life was nicer when you both had your comfort and love, and were free to explore other worlds, minds, ideas. She never thought she could be this happy by simply changing profession.

  • Brackenstep viewed queens with the awe a two-moon-old might view a grizzled leader. The patience, compassion, and utter love which flowed from them, which by necessity lay beneath their behavior - it astounded the chocolate tabby, and though he himself was childless and (oh-so freshly) without a mate, he often found himself pausing by the nursery, if only to admire SkyClan's future warriors and those who cared for them. Today he watched as Virgo and Mottlewish began to talk amongst themselves, evidently sharing the responsibility for looking after another queen's kits. "Hello, little tykes." mrowed the willowy warrior with a burr of amusement in his voice, batting one of the NPC kitten's ears with his paw, claws carefully sheathed. "And good day, ladies. How are we, then?" he spoke with reverence, lifting pale eyes to shift from Mottlewish to Virgo and back again.

  • amaryllispaw had been trying to visit his mother more as of recently, though it was hard when training and patrols took up most of his spare time. still, he was determined not to let virgo grow lonely in the nursery, even if she had the queens to talk to and the kits to watch. in his eyes, they couldn't compare to family and the inseparable bonds between the members. today, he'd found time to bring his mother the best piece of prey on the freshkill pile that morning; a squirrel. with the rodent clamped firmly in his jaws, he hoisted himself into the nursery and set down the prey beside his mother before aiming to press his head against hers in greeting "have you eaten yet? .. i brought you a squirrel, in case you have not." he said to her, his voice lowered so that, hopefully, only he and virgo could understand what he said.

he paid little attention to everyone else around him. it was rude, yes, but amaryllispaw really only came to see virgo. these other two cats were unfamiliar to him- though he did recognize mottlewish from the meet and greet he attended a few days ago- and ama wasn't too interested in making new friends right now. he would only speak to them if they spoke to him, or if his mother instructed him to do so.

  • "Watching t-these little ones," Virgo miles back to Mottlewish, the little kits tumbling as she spoke. As Brackenstep playfully hit the ear of one of the kits, the child responded with a very quick attempt to bite down on the warrior's paw. Virgo pulled the kit back, whispering to him how that was not how they treated friends at all. "I- I'm sorry," she said as the little biter went on to play with his sister, "A-And, I'm uh,I'm well." Her tail waved happily as Amaryllis came over. "Hello, hello! Th- thank you s-so much-- I'm going t-to share with th- the kits if you, ah, don't m-mind," she smiled as she took tiny bites of the squirrel. "Mottlewish, B-Brackenstep, this is my- my son, Amaryllisk- paw," she quickly correct. "Ama, w-would you like to- to stay a bit?"

  • The slender tom gasped in mock-pain as tiny teeth sank into his white toes and he let the kit have his moment of victory before retracting his foreleg, his eyes alight with amusement as Virgo scolded him. "Don't worry about it. He's a fierce one." chuckled Brackenstep, watching as the kitten began to engage his sister in play. His attention moved to Amaryllispaw as the apprentice approached, evidently bearing the gift of a meal for his mother, and he smiled softly at the act of familial love. "A pleasure to meet you, young man." offered the chocolate tabby, sizing up the son of Virgo with interest in his gaze. Her slip-up over his name made him wonder if Ama was a new apprentice, and he found himself wondering if the boy had been assigned a mentor yet.
