Yet again, Heronstar found herself stood in the centre of camp about to summon her clan again. The agenda was today was to from some border patrols and check on their neighbouring clan. "SkyClan please gather!" Heronstar would call out, her voice light and friendly that morning. "I need some cats to lead patrols to RiverClan and BloodClan, as well as some cats to join me on patrol to the ThunderClan border. If you would like to lead a patrol please let me know."

he'd been slacking in his duties as of late. losing sight in his right eye had slowed kestrelswoop down, and over the past few weeks, he'd been neglecting the responsibilities he held as a senior warrior to adapt to this new handicap. and it was damn hard. even though it had been a moon since they drove the dogs out, he still wasn't completely adjusted to depending on his left eye alone. he would've never imagined that being half-blind presented so many challenges; he'd thought that, since you still had one good eye, you'd be fine. but, he was wrong. so wrong. having no depth perception and constantly bumping into objects on his right side sucked. he wished he could find the dog responsible and beat it's ass even more for taking away his perfect vision.
kes padded up to heronstar after he heard her call, nodding to her in greeting as he did so. a border patrol wouldn't be hard for him and his one eye; he was getting better at maneuvering through the territory without hitting any trees. "i'll lead one," he announced in his matter-of-fact tone. "i needed somethin' t' do anyways; i've been goin' crazy sittin' around, doin' nothin' useful."

He wasn't sure if he was allowed to go on border patrols anymore. Was that a thing that medicine cats did? Yet he found his paws moving out of habit to do something other than spend his time in camp and so he made his way toward Heronstar, lifting his head up slightly as he listened to his words. Riverclan, Bloodclan, Thunderclan. All groups he knew about though one of them he had a low amount of respect for. Still he allowed himself a moment to wait and see if anyone else was going to speak up on the subject of which group they were looking for. That was when he heard Kestrelswoop speak up and he angled his head in that direction before clearing his throat and trying to form his words as best that he could. He was trying his best to get over his ailing for the moment but he was struggling and it was clear. The bicolored male would dip his head once and he would pull his ears forward. "I'll go on the patrol that is going to Riverclan's border. Not gonna pretend I want to smell Bloodclan's stench."

MOTHSHINE ♚
Skyclan - Senior Warrior - Female - 16 moons
― Mothshine was quick to finish the last few bites of her morning meal. A tongue swiped quickly around her maw before she rose to her paws, shaking away bits of snow from her pelt. Always bright and smiling even in the early hours of day. The opportunity to get out into the territory and perhaps seeing some familiar faces was one she'd take gladly. Then she supposed it might depend largely on who they ran into. The ashen warrior had always been quick to offer herself up for Riverclan patrols. The home of their allies, the place she met with Finchblossom so often. the place Heronstar herself had crossed over from before Skyclan became her home. If anyone had ever noticed her eagerness to visit their river bound allies, she wasn't sure. Although, their last meeting was still fresh in Mothshine's mind. Something that made her stomach turn with the possibility of giving herself away. Heronstar had grown to be a dear friend in these last moons and still, she was their leader. She was exactly who was meant to enforce the code more than anyone else. She approached her with a smile of greeting, joinging at the side of her fellow senior warrior. If Mothshine was worried, she wouldn't show it on her face. She had nothing to worry about just yet. "I can lead whichever patrol Kesrtelswoop doesn't take!" She offered finally, despite the direction her heart always pulled her. That was the price of this sort of love, she supposed. You couldn't always listen to exactly what your heart wanted. So she'd let the decision be made for her. Luck of the draw then. She glanced towards the tom at her side once. They'd both been made to slow down after the dog fight--forced back by injuries. It felt good to see the both of them back at it again. It wasn't like either of them to sit on the sidelines, and she wondered for a moment if he struggled at all. She had been lucky enough to escape with no permanent injuries.

"I'll go on the BloodClan patrol." Tawnypaw offered as he makes his way over to the scene. He had almost said RiverClan as he wanted to join Bisonpaw... but dammit if something interesting was going to happen it'd probably be at the BloodClan border. He just hoped... nothing bad would happen. As usual he attempts to briefly place his tail tip gently upon the fellow medicine cats shoulders in greeting before turning to Heronstar to see whether or not he'd be accompanying Kestrelswoop or Mothshine.

It seemed he had been beaten to leading a patrol, but... he was fine with that. Whenever he lead patrols he often said something he regretted and ended up returning home in a mood like no other, and if he was honest... despite his workaholic nature, something had snapped today and he felt absolutely exhausted. No doubt that was due to the terrible night's sleep he had the night before- his half-lidded eyes gave away his exhaustion, so the deputy blinked a couple times in an effort to make himself look and feel more alert. Padding toward Heronstar, his eyes quickly raked over those gathered. Well, he wasn't in the mood to go to BloodClan, and RiverClan wasn't a patrol he fancied either- so, he made his decision to volunteer for the task no-one had done so far.
He was sure Mothshine would like to go to RiverClan... tightening his jaw, he surpassed the knowing smile that threatened to form upon his face and instead kept his expression rather steely. "I'll accompany you to ThunderClan," he offered, though the usual harshness of his tone made it seem to those who might not know him well that he was ordering his leader around.

Cats soon began to approach to offer their help in leading patrols to their neighbouring clans. Heronstar was pleased to see Kestrelswoop among those present. She hadn't seen the cinnamon tom around camp much since his injury, so she was pleased to see him feeling more confident. "Kestrelswoop, you can take Bisonpaw and travel to the RiverClan border," Heronstar instructed, gesturing for the medicine cat apprentice and the senior warrior to come together. She hoped Bisonpaw wouldn't mind going to RiverClan at least, since he had expressed a desire not to visit their city neighbours. "Mothshine that leaves you with the BloodClan patrol I'm afraid," Heronstar mewed in the she-cats direction, a sympathetic look in her eyes. She knew that much like herself Mothshine had a fondness for the river clan. And though she could not say for certain, she had her suspicions that she knew why - or rather who - kept drawing her back to the clan. "Tawnypaw will accompany you." She paused a moment before looking at the two of them with a more serious expression. "I don't expect either of you to be the sort who would start something with the BloodClan cats, but regardless, I will advise you to be on your best behaviour and not to rise to any possible taunts. And if anything should happen I want it reported to me or Juniperthorn as soon as you return."
Speaking of her deputy, she turned her head to look him, giving him an appreciative nod. "Thank you, Juniperthorn," She mewed. "We will see if any other cats wish to join our patrol and then we can head out to ThunderClan."

MOTTLEWISH the tales untold Mottlewish walked towards the gathering cats. Oh, yeah, patrols. She loved going to the border and meeting new cats. Sometimes even hoping to catch a glance, a scent or the reflected light from one of the gems her kits have been gifted. The molly padded towards Heronstar with a nod.
"If it's alright I would like to join in one of the patrols," she announced, gently eaving her tail from side to side. She wouldn't really mind going to BloodClan at all, but she'd go wherever she was needed.

"Of course, it's alright Mitrleshine," Heronstar assured the older queen, purring as she spoke. "Why don't you tag along with Kestrelswoop and Bisonpaw to RiverClan?"
