Mia was stiff as her eyes watched the clearing. She breathed heavy as wolves started to emerge. Mia backed away some and started to shake

Sam grabbed her wrist and moved in front of her to protect her. He kept Mia close behind him. “What’s going on?” He growled at the wolves.

One showed up to be the leader “my child...I searched for her for so long.”he huffed and Mia whimpered “no...it’s all lies...”

Sam glanced at Mia. “She has a new family now.” He growled. “You can’t take her back.”

Mia stayed behind and shifted “we can’t take on all these wolves sam..”she said through the link. The wolves closed in “she’s one of us! The only alpha heir left!”

Sam glanced at Mia. “What are we going to do then?” He thought. He looked back at the wolves. “You can’t have her.”

“Run”Mia said and counted down before sprinting off towards home just as the wolves followed. Lilith saw them and frowned “Liam!”

Sam followed her, assuming they were going back to her house. Liam bolted downstairs. “What?” He said and looked out the window. “Shit.” He muttered. “Nick!” He called and darted upstairs. Him and Nick rushed outside to see Sam and Mia. “What happened?” Liam asked Mia. He glanced at Sam, knowing he’ll ask questions later.

Mia panted “they are after me dad. They want me back..”she huffed and Lilith bit her lip “Mia stay behind us..”she glanced at Sam “stand in front of her”she had a hunch what had happened. Kira saw them and got Jake and Lilly upstairs safe.

Sam nodded. He glanced at Mia and moved away with her, keeping himself in front of her. “It’s gonna be okay. You’ll be fine.” Sam said. Liam looked back at the wolves. “You can’t take her. She’s ours. We adopted her a long time ago.” He said. Nick stood next to him and watched the wolves. He knew this was going to be difficult if they had to take on all of these wolves.

The alpha stepped forward “she is the only heir to alpha in this pack. We need her back”he growled and Mia breathed “no! I was abandoned!”she let out a pained growl the alpha growled “your mother ran to another male. You were almost killed that wasn’t my fault!”he argued his lies. And Mia started to wrestle with herself to not submit.

Sam wrapped his arms around Mia to try and keep her calm. “You’re on vampire territory now. You need to leave. She doesn’t want to return to your pack.”

The alpha howled and Lilith lunged for Mia to keep her when Mia bit down hard on her mom and broke free and tackled the alpha. Lilith quickly tried to hide the bite as she went inside. Mia eventually got pinned but she wasn’t going to surrender so the wolf bit into her neck making her scream and whimper.

Liam rushed over and bit down into the alpha. He tore him off of Mia, and Nick got to Mia and pulled her away from the chaos. Sam rushed over by Nick and picked up Mia. “Stay out of the fight.” Nick growled to Mia, then rushed back into the fight to help Liam.

The wolves slowly retreated when their alpha was taken down by two vampires. Mia shifted to human and was crying gently. She hadn’t meant to bite her mum. Lilith was in the bathroom trying to clean up when she felt hot. She cursed under her breath knowing what was about to happen.

Once they were gone, Nick darted back inside to check on his mom. “Mom?” He said, rushing around to check on her. Liam looked at Mia and Sam. “Calm her down for me.” He told Sam. Sam nodded and hugged Mia. Liam watched the two for a couple of seconds before going inside to see Lilith.

Lilith was breathing pretty quick when she saw nick “I’m ok. I promise”she strained some as she tried to stay calm.
Mia sniffled “I didn’t mean to! I. He. He was in my head sam. He controlled me I was stuck”

Nick shook his head. “You don’t look okay.” He said. Liam walked in and looked at Lilith’s wound. “We need to clean it.” He said and darted off again.
Sam rubbed her back. “It’s alright.” He said. “They understand. No one’s mad.”

Lilith sighed gently “I’m changing. I know it’s going to suck..I wanted to remain a human..”she breathed some as she murmured to nick “dad doesn’t want to notice..”
“she’s going to end up a wolf because of me..”she sniffled and sobbed into him.
