  • So I have this idea floating around my head and I'm curious if anyone wants to do try it out with me. It is a mix of a sci-fi and a fantasy that takes place really far a head into the future. Not like flying cars a head, but far enough to have perfected modifying ones DNA and genetics. This is where my idea comes into the light.

For the past for years the military as been making their own super soldiers. In the beginning no one really knew what these soldiers were since the information hadn't been released to the public. They didn't stay hidden for long though, you see humans are curious and naturally want to know about things they are aren't loud to have. Some one was able to get the research that had been collected on these soldiers. As it turns out that these soldiers are shapeshifters. These shapeshifters were created by the military with their new and improved genetic modification research. Now what do they do with this research you ask, well they sell it to private companies of course.

A couple of years have passed since that has happened and now you can find shapeshifters every where, but they aren't treated kindly by any means. They also no longer need to be genetically created anymore, two shapeshifters will have a shapeshifter child as well. New companies have appeared offering to sell their shapeshifters to those who are willing to pay a pretty penny for them. This where the characters come into play. There are four main characters in this two of which are shapeshifters.

    Brief description of characters:

Muse A- The rich character that has been working alongside their parents for as long as they could remember. Their family is not exactly good people though, so in an attempt to keep them safe they get them a shapeshifter, whom will be Muse D.

Muse B- Muse B is a simple scientist who works are one of the private businesses that breeds and sells shifters. They don't really like their job, but they tough through it to try and make shifters lives better. Muse B recently has been assigned to take care of Muse C, a shifter that has been recently created.

Muse C- Muse C is a shifter that has never been created before because they were worried they wouldn't be able to control them. They are a predator shifter(what predator is up to you) and everyone believes they are violent and unstable. Muse B as been assigned as their Caretaker to make sure they don't die and can be tamed.

Muse D- Muse D is also a newly created predator shape shifter, expect Muse A's family bought them even though they had been know to cause problems in the lab. They have been assigned the job of being Muse A's bodyguard and to protect them from whoever the might hunt them. Of course the shifter is not to happy about that.

If you are interested I can introduce more.

  • Before I add or change anything... I just want to clarify... Whatever predator they end up being able to shift into.. They get some of their wild properties? Or is it just something people are afraid of?

And don't worry about writing a lot! I'm pretty good at feeding off my partner so I can at least try to match whatever you're putting out! Para or multi, if it comes to that!

  • Because these shifters specifically are so new to the world they will have some "kinks", and they might take on some of the traits that their animal counter parts have. Though these traits can sometimes be a subtle physical change, such as having eyes like the animal. There is also the complication of them taking on the personality traits of the animal they have been designed to shift into. Though, this is not the only reason why people are afraid of them, you see because they have just been created no one knows what their capable of, which brings on the fear of the unknown.

Okay just wanted to make sure.

  • Also for further note, because they are basically prototypes for their shifter type they can be a bit more fragile. That doesn't aren't strong but because their genes are perfected they may get sick easier and stuff like that.

    I'm glad you like it.

  • No problem, just ask if you have any questions.

Also, yes you are correct, because you want to play Muse C I will play Muse B. You would also be playing Muse A, while I play Muse D.

  • Ah! So we'd each play two characters, then? That's fine!

And if I have any questions - during plotting or play - I'll make sure to ask!

Edit: Actually, a question I had while I was thinking about the plot points for Muse A and D... Muse D isn't happy about their situation and Muse A isn't from a "good" family... Are they a kind person or is there going to be some friction from two unhappy people?

  • Yeah we each would be playing two, if you are okay with that.

Muse A is kind of the neutral ground, they had been told to work along side their parents as they deal with the shady things that they do. I was thinking at their parents do a lot of illegal shifter breeding and selling, among other things as well. Muse A doesn't agree with their parents, but they aren't strong enough , nor brave enough to try and stop them.

  • Just making sure.

No problem. Muse B and C don't exactly get along either. Muse C doesn't want to be a toy for the researchers, and frankly doesn't want Muse B around them because of this. While Muse B is simply trying to do their job, at first their kind of on board then they change over time.

  • Ah, I gotcha! Good to know!

Another question, while I'm at it... Are Shifters prone to being... I suppose feral might be a good word for it. For whatever reason, I have it in my mind they're social - conversational, specifically - wouldn't be the best.

And, I know it's not really up to me, but if Pride wanted a group thing, I don't mind giving up Muse A - if they strike ya, Visceral. I was looking forward to playing C, though.

  • I don't mind playing any character, although I am unsure of how well I can play the scientist, but I'm not against trying it. I would like to make another kind of shifter if that's okay, or maybe even link to an experiment like character I had made in another thread that could work for this one?

I only ask not to be requested for a bio.... I'm on my phone because the internet for our computers isnt working. But I am not following through with forms anyways. I can give information about characters in their posts and as time goes on. If that's okay with you two.

  • Of course you may join, though it may make things a bit more difficult. I would love to welcome you in Visceral If you have a character you would like to introduce into the mix, you can send a pm later to tell me about them.

I'm not requiring that you play the character that I have created, and are more than happy to let you guys make new ones. As long as they are over powered or anything like that.

I guess this is a group note, shifters personalities depend on what animal they can shift into. For example, say some one can shift into a mountain lion, they will be more solitary and will tend to want to be independent. Ifor they have a more social animal side then they may be more social as well. As for the feral question, yes it is completely for shifters to become feral due to the fact that they have animal genes.

  • Welcome to the discussion, then Visceral !

I'd make my own character but I'm actually looking forward to playing Muse C... So I'll stick with them.

On the topic of personalities and such... With the newer ones... Is it out of the realm of possibility that they may speak broken... Well, I want to say broken English, but I'm not sure what language they'd be speaking originally. Sorry, I have an idea for the character in my head and I just want to make sure it'd be okay to play them how I'm imagining them before I do so.

  • They wouldn't have broken English, unless they have come from a different country. The research that made the shifters has been released so other countries have found ways to make their own shifters as well, it's not exclusively English speaking countries.

If you send me your character idea, maybe it can help see if it will fit.
