Sirens travel in pods that travel around much like dolphins and orcas. Pods are usually large family groups and new pods are formed when an adult chooses to leave and make a new one. A pair of brothers live in an relatively large pod and they aren't many rules other than stay away from the surface. The brothers are like yin and yang they perfectly balanced eachother out. Muse A is the more adventurous brother who can stay out of trouble for the life of him, while Muse B is more reserved and prefers their home under the waves. One day Muse A drags Muse B to the surface with them to show them how to have some fun. Then seemly out of nowhere a rough storm comes around and sweeps Muse B onto the shore. Muse A tries to find them but they can't.

When morning comes Muse B finds them selves stuck under some wreckage from the storm. While trying to escape they are found by Muse C who is a college student trying to become a marine biologist. She helps Muse B get free, but with his injuries on his tail he can't leave just yet. Muse C ends up bring Muse B to her apartment to help patch him up.

On the same shore Muse A meets Muse D in an attempt to find his brother. Muse D is a girl barely scraping by and working in a crappy bar to try and pay the bills. At first Muse D freaks out and thinks Muse A is some freaky nudist on the beach. After the screaming match between them ends Muse D agrees to try and help Muse A find his brother.
