  • Pinewood University isn't exactly notable for any reason. It's a small university, in a quiet college town in Oregon, with no especially good sports teams, though they're not especially bad either. Not a bad school, certainly, and they happen to have a few notable alumni, a few people who have made something of themselves. But Pinewood University is only known by those in the town around it.

For whatever reason, you've decided to attend the school, and are all packed up and ready for your first semester. Of course, you're not the only one attending, and there is the problem of housing. Out of the choices given, you've decided to get a suite with five other students. Six strangers packed together in one apartment.

This is going to be interesting.

    Lucette Kang

Lucette hadn't taken a lot of time to think for the past few months. Since her graduation and decision to enroll at a university across the country, she'd been in a limbo of sleep, parties, and hangovers, and hadn't given herself any time to actually sit down and think about what she was getting into.

But a cross-country car drive took a long time, and there wasn't much to do while sitting behind the wheel but think. The week-long drive to Pinewood University was one filled with something Lucy had trying to avoid all summer; Anxiety. Her stomach tied in knots as she thought about the university. A school full of strangers, living with 5 people she barely even knew the names of, leaving behind her whole life.

Of course, that was the point. The whole reason Lucy had decided to apply to Pinewood was to get away from her family, to find a new start. And she was going to take advantage of it, no matter what.

So as Lucy pulled up to her new apartment building and pulled her luggage up the stairs, she tried to ignore the discomfort in her stomach and focus on why she was doing this. A new start, she told herself as she struggled to put her key into the lock. She repeated it in her head as the door swung open and she stepped into the empty apartment, her new home for the next year.

    A new start.

    Some cause happiness wherever they go;

    others whenever they go

Ji-Soo had been slightly anxious for the past few days, but this was a very common thing with him. He's always been a bit scared when it came down to the first time of doing anything, especially things school related. Enrolling into this university was something he did want to do, but then he had to take in the fact that he was going to be staying with other people who he was going to have to try and get along with. Though that wasn't anything that Ji-Soo felt he should worry about, he felt that he got along with people pretty easily. Or maybe that was just him being a bit too confident in his social skills.

The car ride to his university gave him some time to think about this, along with some other things as well. Though when he finally got to his destination, his thoughts washed away. He focused on the task at hand now, which was to get used to rooming with five other people.

When he got up to where the apartment room was, his luggage was tightly secured in his hands. He blinked a few times, staring at the back of the person who was already in the building. He didn't say anything for a moment before giving off his usual sweet smile and finally opening his mouth to catch her attention.

"Hello! Sorry to intrude, but I'm assuming you're one of my roomies?" With how he was able to speak so easily would have made it hard to believe that he was having worries of making friends with the other roommates of his. Though social skills came naturally to Ji-Soo, so he showed to have no problems whatsoever. He had hoped his sudden appearance hadn't startled the other, though.

    Jacob L. Reyes

    Age: 21 Years | Height: 6' 4" | Weight: 224 lbs | Birthday: August 4th

It was probably about 7... no...7:45 a.m. when Jacob woke up. The room had very little light in it, save for the pair of tiny, 5' x 10' windows that let morning light hit the furthest wall. The shadows it cast on the floor showed just how cluttered the side of the room he was on was: the silhouette of a book bag was braced up against the side of the bedpost facing the door and books had already been spilled from it, a lump of something, which he presumed to be one of his socks from yesterday night, and lastly the unmistakable silhouette of his phone, laying face down on the carpet.

While the shadows melded with the carpet, he could see his own outline as he sat up from bed, the sudden shift in temperature rousing him further as he threw off the covers, freeing his body heat from them. He could also see someone else too; after all, this wasn't his bed. Laying right beside him on the side of the bed closest to the wall, Jacob smiled at the sight of Brendan dozing off, completely unaware that Jacob had gotten up - at least that's what he thought until Brendan shifted uncomfortably, a part of his subconscious commanding his sleeping body to pull the covers back over his side of the bed.

Jacob had half a mind to let Brendan sleep, but his friend happened to have other plans. "Dude..." Brendan mewled out quietly, desperately clinging to the grogginess of sleep he still had left, "What...time is it? Check the alarm clock."

Looking over at the desk just before the foot of the bed, Jacob's aloof expression was unreadable as his lazy nature kicked in as Brendan's did. "Why don't you check it yourself?"

"You looked at it already haven't you? ....What time is it?"

    "I dunno."

Brendan opened his eyes; Jacob was obviously playing dumb. "How can you 'not know?'"There was no answer.

Brendan sighed loudly, tossing the covers aside. He repeated himself, looking at the clock himself. "How can you not-"

    The room fell silent.

"Oh." He hadn't even plugged it in yet.

Brendan rolled his eyes at his own laziness, but honestly just wanted to go back to bed, but that all depended on what time it was. Of course, he could also just feel the smug expression from Jacob by his side without even looking at him, but Brendan would let him have this little victory... for now.

" 'Oh Jacob, could you please tell me the time on your phone? You're always so generous, I don't think I could even walk out the front door without your help! No wonder they call you the attractive one!' " As if those words would ever come out of Brendan's mouth; Jacob just so happened to love mocking Brendan to stroke his own ego.

"Sure, sure," Brendan swatted Jacob dismissively with a long yawn, "Just tell me."

Jacob had already picked up his phone from the floor, swiping his thumb across the screen to reach the home menu. "It's... 7:51."

    Brendan R. Williams

    Age: 20 Years | Height: 6' 0" | Weight: 184 lbs | Birthday: January 4th

That definitely was enough to wake Brendan up from his lazy stupor.

F*ck...He cursed under his breath, bounding over Jacob to grab something to wear from his suitcase. "I thought I unpacked last night."

"Yeah, I thought so too. You were talking all about that last night, even when I was drunk out of my mind."

"Right, you needed a chaperone and I needed help cleaning up. I'm pretty much up to speed right now." It clearly didn't surprise Brendan that Jacob would get wasted. He was, after all, twenty one and was just learning his alcohol tolerance - though it took him 6 bottles to nearly make a fool of himself at the bar. The rest of Brendan's night was spent trying to keep Jacob from doing anything stupid or breaking anything while also moving into the apartment beforehand in order to make his half of the furthest room down presentable. At least, that was the plan.

"Anyway, I need you out too, Jacob. Who knows how long until they're here."

"What? You don't want me to say 'hi' to them? You won't even introduce me? Que malicioso, tío."

Brendan had one leg through his jeans. "Just get up."

"Alright alright." Getting up from his side of the bed, Jacob rolled his shoulders back as he stretched his arms behind himself.

"And put on some clothes!" Brendan shouted at him, putting on a simple, white t-shirt and hoodie.

"I'll put on some pants, sure. But I will put on a shirt whenever I d*mn please!"

    Brendan turned around. "Jacob, language!"

"¿Qué cojones? No eres differente de mi, tío. ¡Te escuché maldecir justo ahora! Y... además..." Jacob forced Brendan against the door, his voice lowering to a growl as he planted his hands right behind each of Brendan's shoulders. "Te gusta cuando me hablo sucio y dominarte."

The two stared each other down for couple seconds, fierce eyes sizing each other up for that split second before they both started snickering.

    "You're an absolute pervert."

the flight across the country from pennsylvania to oregon left a lot of time for archie to think about his future and where he was headed. butterflies continually erupted within his stomach, making him shift in discomfort from the hard seat of the plane. he occupied a lot of his time with either napping or watching the movies he had pre-downloaded onto his phone before entering the plane. when the plane landed, archie steeled himself at the baggage claim in reaction to a pang of homesickness already making his heart ache.

the drive was relatively short to the campus of pinewood university, archie's new home. his uber driver had tried to make small talk with him on the way to it, but archie had politely declined. instead he chose to peer out the window at the trees, sunshine hitting his eyes before disappearing behind a patch of leaves, creating a strobe light effect. his attention was redirected as the uber entered the university's campus and archie took over instructing his driver where he needed to go. upon being dropped off, archie stood outside the suite for several seconds and gripped his suitcase handle tightly. he wondered what kind of people he would be rooming with.

hauling his suitcase up into the building, archie was met with the forms of two other people, one a girl and one another boy. wheeling his suitcase closer, archie intentionally made his appearance into the building a bit louder than usual in order to alert them that he, too, had entered. shifting the heavy weight of his backpack across his shoulders, archie looked at the two other figures before peering past them briefly into the building.

"hi, guys. i'm archie, are you two of the others staying here, by any chance?"
