  • THE GRASS IS NOT ALWAYS GREENER —

Grasskit had a green scarf around his neck that rapped up towards his nose and over his head, but keeping his nose tip and eyes exposed. There was also a blanket on his back that was rapped around his stomach and tied into a small little knot. He was always cold recently, even when he was inside where he slept at, even if he was near a fire, he was always cold. His nose was drippy and his throat dry. He wasn't really trying to solve his problem, but he had never really been sick before so he wasn't sure how to solve it anyways. He just went about his day as he always would. However, recently he was much more tired, and would almost fall asleep outside when he walked. He was almost stumbling a bit today, and his eyes were drooping just like his nose was doing.

  • He's healing, slowly. The wound on his neck is no longer agonizing, though the dull throb has developed into something new. Once again he finds himself unable to describe it, the low pulsing that follows his veins. It feels black and syrupy, a tree struck by lightning and bleeding. It had shaken him to his roots, and the boy himself still shakes as he tries to go about his duties. He had taken care of his own wounds as soon as he was able to, which is likely a little arrogant of him. It was simply hard to trust the work of anyone else these days, Ninthkit excluded. He couldn't risk his safety on trust. Relationships were...fading. He was turning six months old in a few short days and what then? What would become of him? Would he simply drift apart from his family, his friends? What had once been home?

Lost in thought, Com almost walks by his brother. The kitten comes to a halt a little quickly, jerking and tensing until his neck protests in more dull throbbing. "Gasskit?" he asks, voice surprisingly expressive, "are you alright?"

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ Even though Eridanus was afraid she had bullied Grasskit a little too much, she hoped that he didn't fear her. As she approaches the two kits, she overhears Com's question. Her eyes immediately turn to Grasskit, looking them up and down and trying to figure out what could possibly be wrong with Grass. "You look like you're dying." She says bluntly.

Grasskit looked over to see his brother, one of the twins, not sure which one... as always, and Eridanus. Sometimes Eridanus did scare him, as everyone could do eventually, but he knew she wasn't actually mean... not how Cherrykit had made him feel... like a helpless kit, which wasn't entirely wrong neceassarily. "Hmm?" he said with slight confusion. "Oh... I'm fine, see!" he said with a wide, toothy smile. It wasn't that convincing to someone who probably payed a lot of attention, especially as he began to cough a bit. "It's probably just a cold, a cold, yeah a cold," he said. Honestly, he didn't know what he had, for all he knew this could be a normal thing for everyone or something not, he had no idea.
