Carter Mau - 19 - Follower/Thief - Wind
Thomas Mau - 19 Follower/Thief - Fire
"Wow, this is such a big market!" Carter exclaimed, jaw dropping as he gaped at the bustling marketplace. "Where do we start first, Bro?" he asked his brother, who slowly scanned the square, noticing a jeweler pocketing coin as he wished a customer a good day. "Ooh, what about him, Bro?" Carter said, noticing the same mark. Thomas nodded. "Yeah. Let's do the Pocket Pump." The two walked out to the jeweler, who raised an eyebrow as Carter instantly pressed his face against the glass. "Ahem. Are you two going to buy something?" the shopkeeper asked snidely. Thomas raised an eyebrow and pulled a bag of coin out of his pocket, the other eyebrow on the shopkeeper raising. "I want to try that one on!" Carter said, pointing at a shiny silver bracelet. The mark smiled, and spoke in a much more pleasant tone. "Very well then!" He pulled the bracelet out of the case, and handing it to Carter, who accepted it with the most religious look on his face. He quickly snapped it on, and examined it on his left wrist, awing at it quietly. "It fits you," the salesman said, closing the selling point. "Now, that'll be 8 gold coins, if yo-" he said, turning to Thomas and taking his attention off of Carter. "I don't like it," Carter interrupted, setting it on the counter and looking back to the other shiny things behind the glass. "Wha-" the mark gaped, seeing the money disappear. "What do you-!" he began to spit, before calming himself down. "What do you mean you don't like it?" he repeated in a calmer voice, still trying to get Thomas to buy. He went to put the bracelet back, but realized it was... different. To begin it wasn't even a bracelet, just clay molded up to look like it. "h-Hey!" He looked to the twins, but they were already turned around and running, the bracelet still in Carter's pocket.
Carter rocked his leg as they hid atop the ruins, rotating his right wrist as the bracelet shined in the sun. It hadn't taken long to lose the salesman, even without knowing the area well. Carter's eye caught something else shining; the oasis. "Hey bro I'm thirsty. Be right back." He told Thomas. "Don't take too long, and don't get caught," the elder brother warned, instinctively retreating under one of the ruined buildings.
Carter didn't even extend his wings as he used his magic to glide down to the oasis, where he leaned down to drink, not noticing the girl at the other end of the oasis.
Croix Babylon - 198 - Advisor - Lightning/Thunder
Croix sighed then turned around slowly. He had felt the general walking up behind him, the ochresile's heavy armour shaking the stones just enough that the deaf advisor could pick it up. Croix wasn't sure if it was intentional or not, but he was very grateful either way. "Good morning, Titus," he said. He didn't worry about what others heard; years of speaking gave him the approximate feel of how words sounded. Funny how your other senses took up the slack if one was disabled. "I am... well. As well as one can be without ears and wings," he said with a shaky smile as he tried to downplay his pain. "Any disturbances or interesting reports come in over the night?" He asked, finishing his turban that hid his earless scalp from sight.
