  • ✦ ✧ ✦ had she managed to find this place alright? it had been quite a trek from her apartment to the forest in which these 'thunderclan' cats dwelled, but she recognised the scent from the body that that terrible, ugly brute nathanos had dragged in, and from the cats who had been looking for that body. that morning, it had taken the kittypet about two hours to find this place, unaware she had also been crossing other borders to get there. but when she recognised the smell, she stopped, knowing how protective these clan cats were of their borders.

curling her fluffy tail around her paws, the femme would sit in wait for herself to be happened upon. bright amber eyes flickered around the surroundings, unsure of what direction these thunderclanners would come from; for all she knew, these were the ones that climbed the trees and one would come rocketing down from above. no doubt her mix of bloodclan and kittypet scent would confuse them, though... she wasn't quite aware of that fact.

oh, she just wanted to disassociate herself. go back to when everything was easy.

  • Ever since the murder, patrols along the Bloodclan border had tripled or quadrupled...she made sure of that. If they thought they could sneak onto her territory and slaughter more of her clanmates, she’d line her nest with their pelts!

As the deputy lead her patrol of NPCs along the border, the fur on the back of her neck stood up. A molly sat on the border, her scent entangled with that of a kittypet and a Bloodclanner. Her singe eye narrowed, and she flicked her tail for the patrol to follow her. Once she came to stand in front of the she cat, her tail twitched irritatedly behind her.

What do you need?” the fiery queen asked cooly. This cat didn’t look like a murderer, but she refused to let her guard down.

3caMd2x.pngThe medicine cat apprentice's only contact with BloodClan had been indirectly thus far-- a distant scent on the breeze during her travels in pursuit of herbs. Cloudpaw's abundant pelt would raise up along her hackles in apprehension, her tail bushing out like pine as she recalled what Sheepstar had said in relation to the city Clan.

The stranger's scent was oddly mixed with that of kittypet, only further confusing the large apprentice and making her more uneasy. She stuck close to Flameseeker, desperately wishing she could hide in the queen's shadow. However, the gingery she-cat had her own family to take care of and so Cloudpaw felt rather protective of her Clanmate.

  • Peach herself used to be a stranger to Thunderclan, so she threw caution to the wind and approached behind her two clanmates ahead of her.

"She looks harmless," Peach observed to herself. The molly did smell all out of whack, though; only part of her scent was familiar to Peach, the part that came from a previous life lived indoors. The other scent on the molly was one Peach had never smelt before.

"Hello there! What brings you all the way out here?" Peach smiled after Flameseeker's more direct question to the newcomer.

Shimmersong had padded up behind Flameseeker, politely nodding to the Bloodclanner, but otherwise remaining silent. This she-cat's scent wasn't completely BloodClan, but still. With everything that had happened recently, it was still best to be cautious. He picked up on Cloudpaw's uneasiness, and moved slightly closer to the young medic, his pelt brushing against hers in an attempt to provide some reassurance.

The lynx point's gaze was curious, but still remained wary. It was probably best to be on guard, no matter how harmless this cat might look. Peachpaw had trotted up only a few moments after Shimmersong himself had, and she greeted the other cat cheerfully while making no move to get any closer. Still, Shimmersong wordlessly positioned his tail straight out in front of the apprentice in a wordless reminder for her to keep her distance.

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ there was an icy quality to the fiery queen's voice, and missy immediately tuned into the fact that she wasn't really welcome here. a scent associated with her had seeped into their land and had killed one of their own- she couldn't blame them. though, these cats were entirely intriguing to the tortoiseshell... they seemed more together than bloodclan, more respectful. despite the scent that clung to her fur the majority of them made no violent assumption and spat no poisonous words.

"i am missy. bloodclanner by day, house cat by night," she said, sipping her head to the cats who surrounded her. one in particular was lively, and spoke to her as if she was already a friend. missy's heart felt a longing for a friend within bloodclan, a friend she had not yet found. "um, i'm here to... give my condolences for your lost... clan... mate?" she wasn't quite sure what they called their comrades, and the usually prissy she-cat shuffled her paws in embarrassment. "i... wish i didn't have to associate with nathanos. i was there the day he brought your friend to us. it made me sick." she hummed, a sadness in her voice.

The last time she'd scented BloodClan so near to her home it had been seething with the strong scent of freshly spilled blood. Snow painted red with the drag marks of a dead cat so hastily removed from their land by a coward. What an odd she-cat this was though, sitting perfectly at the border without a seemingly care in the world. Harmless, she deduced, especially with the kittypet stink that still clung to her fur. Slithering up near the back of the patrol Batpaw would tilt her head from behind her mentor, Shimmersong, cold, emotionless, yellow eyes blinking at Missy. What was the use of her words? She seemed to travel so far to say so little. In fact Batpaw would have preferred that she wouldn't have come at all. Does coming here and offering your condolences help soothe the fact you choose to live with a clan that murders? The apprentice wondered but instead of speaking she would only stare at the Kittypet-BloodClanner.

    do you even feel anything?

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ Bloodclan. How the name made his skin crawl, his tongue taste bitter at the mention. He was doing all he could to protect his clan from the city-dwelling monsters, but there was only so much he could do without risking a full-blown war with the other clan. Thunderclan didn't need a war, not so close to leafbare and definitely when there were so many hungry mouths to feed. Wasting herbs on injuries from battles...he cringed at the thought.

A few of his clanmates were crowded near the border, Sheepstar appearing through the underbrush as the familiar scent of tar greeted his nose. He had caught the last few sentences of Missy's explanation, the leader stopping in his tracks. "Nathanos...o-of course." Sheepstar rumbled coldly, his voice icy and full of spite as he came up to stand beside Shimmersong, pressing his side into his mate's in attempt to calm himself down. "We...a-appreciate your condolences, but...just k-keep Nathanos and the rest of your clanmates far from here, I don't want to spill a-anymore blood..." He mumbled softly, his eyes glancing towards his paws.

  • &&&---lost faith for a minute there, working hard in the hot sun

"If I see a single BloodClanner on this territory I'm going to make them match their name!"

Silentpaw didn't get angry usually, he was a calm tom who knew his own strengths and weaknesses and tried his best to remain collected but the absolute audacity of those wretches to not only kill on their own territory but to openly lie to their faces about it. Sucking in a deep breath as he walked over the red tabby lashed his tail and shook his head, willing his fur to fall flat and the fire raging in his chest to smolder to a low simmer.

No, it wouldn't do to lash out at this BloodClanner who seemed to be one of the few with any sense of morals and the fact he was so worked up over it was sign he needed to take a step back. "I...apologies. Thank you for the information." Turning to glance at Sheepstar he frowned, "Nathanos was that big brute? The tabby missing half his face?" Hope he wasn't too attached to the other half of it.

    3caMd2x.pngShe's offering her condolences?

Cloudpaw blinked with a hint of surprise in her broad features. She hadn't expected a display of empathy from a BloodClanner; had she been too quick to judge? Maybe some of them were just like WindClanners... looking out for one another and caring about them.

Still, the shadowy smoke couldn't help but be a tad suspicious. She wanted to see the best in everyone, sure, but what if this cat wasn't as transparently honest as she seemed? A question burned in her mind:

Why would a kindhearted cat dwell in BloodClan of all places?

  • — The only reason why he was here was because he had heard his father's name whispered through the broken foliage. Whispered in the wind like a devil's prayer and it scared him. He crept forth, peering into the foliage for a moment before he swallowed thickly. Pangolin blinked his strangely colored eyes as he looked at the Bloodclanner, gaze brimming with confusion. What was this about his father? He looked toward Sheepstar then with uncertainty and he was afraid to be here. Not because of the Bloodclanner, he didn't know anything about them but because of what he gained from here. He swallowed a bit more and backed out slowly. Eyes flicking to the molly who had spoken of condolences for a killed cat. Fear pulsed through his being and he was afraid, afraid because what would his new clanmates think of him if they knew? Would they kick him out? He hoped that they wouldn't and he quickly walked away from the scene, tail slightly brushing the ground as he disappeared quickly making his way back to camp.

Cyclonebluster had once thought he could trust BloodClan. The previous leafbare, their then-leader had offered to feed ThunderClan's kits, but there was no such thing as a free gift. He'd been trusting, and he'd learnt better. The recent murder of one of his clanmates (and why? so that a traitor could return to the only group that would harbor him?) only served to reinforce his suspicions.

Slipping over to Flameseeker, he regarded Missy coolly. The apology certainly sounded sincere, but BloodClanners weren't exactly known for their sincerity. "You don't have to associate with him," Cy pointed out flatly. "You don't have to associate with BloodClan at all. Just stay in your twoleg nest." BloodClan corrupted. Give the tortie a few more moons and she would more likely than not join her clanmates in wrecking havoc on the other groups. "Save your apology. It changes nothing."
