  • Apathy and Ignorance

。・゚゚・ Secunda's task was to make something 'arty'. She knew what art meant, but the suffix was weird. Was it like -issi- (extremely), but on a noun for some reason? Or... a negative that makes something the opposite (i.e. not art?) Maybe it was a question suffix. But really she was overthinking it, because Amelia specified 'like a painting'. Se knew what a painting was. She was in the Painted Brigade! So immediately she knew what to do. A mural. Not only because she enjoyed saying the word, but also because there were so many walls around the Brigade. If the idea hadn't struck her so hard, she'd probably flake.

The Painted Brigade had paint everywhere. Imagine that. Secunda collected purple and yellow and... caeruleum (she could never remember the word 'blue') and various other colors. Black too, for outlines, but for neatness she'll do outlines last. She girl took them to a wall where she started painting the red trunk of a tree. Or... she hoped it would look like a tree. Maybe someone more artistic could help. And the wall was pretty large, maybe someone taller could help too. But... she didn't want to ask. Didn't know how to either. So she blocked in the trunk carefully and took a step back.

It was sloppy and tilted funny. Also way smaller than she expected it was. Okay. "Does anyone want to paint m... with me?" she called reluctantly.

  • While the hound had no artistic abilities at all, he did admire the girl's enthusiasm. Painting the wall was a lot more than what he'd ever be able to accomplish. It was quite fitting as well, considering the clan's namesake after all. With the offer of painting with her, he felt bad declining, but didn't want to hurt her feelings. How exactly should he proceed with this? "I'll just watch for now. I wouldn't want to ruin it or anything." Hopefully she'd understand what he meant and be content with him sitting nearby and watching her paint. There had to be someone around that would be able to paint with enough talent to help her out right?

  • [ tags ] -- The large wolfhound padded up silently, head tilted to the side as she watched Secunda work. Was she trying to create a tree? Yes, it certainly seemed so. "I'll help if you want," Freyja offered, narrowing crystalline eyes at the lopsided image. "I'm a little taller than you, I can probably reach up to do some of the leaves." The suggestion was hopefully worded in such a way that her age-mate wouldn't take any offense. Freyja was skilled at painting bodies for camouflage purposes, how different could it be to slap paint on a wall in a particular way? The answer was very, very different, but she didn't know that yet.

  • Apathy and Ignorance

。・゚゚・ Yah know for a place called 'the Painted Brigade', there wasn't much painting going on. Anyway, Se smiled when her clanmates showed up. Kingpin elected to just watch. That must be his favorite thing to do in the whole world. "Yes. Freyja, pick a color! The painting does not have to be perfect." Clearly. It would be very hypocritical to suggest that.

Speaking of which, Secunda took the red again and started on making the trunk bigger and working the awkward shape into a pretty curve. She hoped. Art was not Se's skill. She wasn't even sure she had one.

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ Painting seemed dumb to Oz, unless it was painting with blood. As he lumbers by, he comes to a stop. He, much like Kingpin, would rather not join in. It isn't until he thinks about Amelia that he considers it. Perhaps Amelia needed to see a gentler side of him, that or, he could just make Amelia a gift for all her troubles with fixing his wounds. "I'll join." He says dryly.

  • [ retro preg discovery lmao ]

Amelia was glad to see that her Clanmates were, again, settling down to do something less violent than their nasty competition - especially Ozy. She watched him forge to move past the group, pause to think, and then offer his own services. A small smile touched her muzzle as she stepped towards the group, touching her nose to her forearm for a moment before looking towards Secunda, dipping her head down, "What's your favorite color?" she asked the younger creature, tail twitching. If Amelia could make it, then she wanted to try and add it to the girl's painting in some way.

  • Apathy and Ignorance

。・゚゚・ Amelia and Ozymandias also showed up, and Secunda put her red brush down again to greet them. "Salve! Thanks." Amelia asked her favorite color, and Se had to think about it. She really liked green, but also red. She learned quickly that she couldn't say both, or she'd 'sound like Christmas' whatever that meant. "Um, I like green?" she spoke carefully, trying to avoid stopping in the middle of the sentence. It was interesting how easily the words came out in this accursed English, relatively speaking.

  • "Greens a nice color," Amelia agreed, tilting her head down slightly to look over the paints, "It's my favorite, too, if I'm honest. I'm not very... particular, however," Amelia, for a little bit, had taken up painting as a hobby, before her job as the medic got to be too busy. She plucked out the vibrant secondary color and added some white to it to lighten it up and make it easier on the eyes. Not quite pastel, but no longer neon, the mottled she-cat held the color sample towards Secunda, "Darker or lighter?" she asked.

  • Hearing Amelia’s question (which was directed at Secunda and he knew it) he’d attempt to become part of the conversation as well. "I like blue personally. Dark blue. If it makes any difference." He’d add in, not really sure that it would make that much of a difference. But hey, at least he was trying from the sidelines right? That had to at least count for something. While he may not fully be ready to pitch in with the messy activity, he’d at the minimum offer input where he could.

  • Apathy and Ignorance

。・゚゚・ Secunda was utterly blindsided when Kingpin answered Amelia his favorite color. Was the question... not directed at her? She shrank back slightly, shyly. But, bear with her, her mind works in reverse with English. She interprets the last thing said first. Amelia worked through the green paint and made it a pretty light shade. "Oh, I like that, Amelia! I often prefer a darker shade of a green, but that's pretty." She shook off her fear of leader figures and said to Kingpin "What if we make many leaves a blue and pretty flowers a green!" She wanted some serious whimsy in this piece. Like, colorblind levels of whimsy. Her English was the best she could muster... she just hoped she was understandable.

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ "Black is nice." Oz says. No one really asked for his input, but he puts it in anyway. "But I don't think black will fit very good with the painting." He states afterwards, if Secunda was going for flowers and leaves, Oz didn't see black fitting in there. He didn't care. He'd listen to Amelia saying her favorite color was green, and take note of it.
