Kayn Alexander Kaeda

Magical Abilities(opt): He doesn't have any supernatural abilities, however! He likes to say his magic is in his Charm.

Fighting Style He fights with a single sword in katana style, if it isn't available he will use the two scimitar style blades at his hips to fight in dual Blade style. He's not the best with a bow but he's decent enough to handle himself. Granted he won't be very good for a big fight with it.

Personality: Kayn is probably the most charming, and friendly young man you'd meet. He's quite the affection character, always doing his best to be the best he can be. Couragous to a degree, he doesn't like going in alone. Being someone who has little confidence in himself (Though he doesn't show it). Insecurities riddle his mind and heart, being someone who takes insults like bullets, but doesn't show how they affect him on the outside. He almost always puts a smile on his face, people don't ask questions if you don't give them a reason to, like a frown might. Kayn's a ladies man, and to be honest if he'd been any demon it would have been a kitsune or incubus. Drawing women in relatively easily, with sweet talk and handsome smiles. When Kayn gets hit by depression spells, it's easy to tell. He doesn't smile as much, he's not as playful, and to be frank he's an ass.

History(opt): As a child Kayn was very shy, and kept to himself. He didn't smile often and even when he did it wasn't something that people would call a smile. Very faint and honestly not very meaningful. It changed when he was fourteen, He'd attracted a creature of dread. Something that fed off of sadness, depression, hate. It had fed from him since his wee age of nine, and as he aged he became happier, met more people, however to prevent this the demon took action. Slowly, Kayn's world began turning upside down. His brother passed away out of nowhere one night. His heart had just stopped working. Not two months later his girlfriend was caught in a housefire, passing as well. These things just began happening to him little by little. When he turned seventeen, the beast came after his mother. He'd arrived to see a blue skinned, ten foot demon drive claws of two feet up into his mother's chest, and in turn his mother driving a black blade katana through it's body. The demon died quickly, his mother however, did not get that luxury.

The two exchanged their teary goodbyes. Kayn, begging his mother to hold on, wait and be strong. His mother only had grinned, telling him that the demon would no longer bother him, and he'd not attract another if he looked at the bright side of life. That she'd stay with him in spirit. With the final 'I love You's' she gave him the demon slaying blade, telling him that it would protect him. That it would hold her spirit within to keep close to him when he needed it. He vowed to slay creatures like the demon after this.

He met Pathos at a bar one night, they became friends over a pint, where he let his passion for hunting the dark and demonic, in which immediately sparked a friendship. They've been close ever since. Despite the fact of her irritation over the female attention he receives.

Pathos Findley Blake

Age: 22

Gender: Feminine

Sexuality: Bisexual

Magical Abilities(opt): It isn't used often, but she is able to command fire to an extent.

Fighting Style Long distant. The weakness in her fire ability, is that she CAN burn herself with it. So she uses archery mostly, and if the enemy gets too close, she will flat out just use a sawed off shot gun to blast their brains. If worse comes to worse she'll use fire.

Personality: Not fully being human, Pathos is automatically labeled as the weird one out. Especially when compared to her best friend Kayn. She's half Elf. Honestly not the weirdest thing to come across in the world but she's still looked at differently for it. She's cold because of this. Disliking strangers, and being down right horrid to them until she's learned that they aren't as bad as they seem. Though she will do her best to drive them away. The only ones who deserve to stick around are the people that can handle her bad attitude. One way through her heart is food and alcohol. She's a bit of a foodie. In fact finding it the window to the soul. If she's drunk, which with her tolerance to the stuff is rare, she's the complete opposite of her normal "tsundere" Self. And is in fact the sweetest, most affectionate and loving person you'd ever meet.

To her friends Pathos is VERY kind, and does her best to appeal to their best interest. She would give her life for them, as they stuck with her, despite her constant hate on them in the beginning. They deserve the world in her eyes, and while she might occasionally snap at them when she's in a bad mood, she normally won't say anything she means out right. Despite not being the type to sugar coat anything, she figures her close friends are used to that by now.

Other: She has a snake named Loach. An albino python, with iridescence in his scales, reflecting the light of her fire, and just light in general. Her flames are also, to reflect their dangerous heat, a bright white in colour. Matching the grey of her hair.

Rane

Age: Unknown, appears to be around 18

Magical Abilities(opt): Rane is incredibly skilled in magic, most specifically in electricity and ice magic

Fighting Style Rane makes use of both a double sided scimitar and the magic at their disposal, preferring to stay mid range and avoid particularly close combat.

Personality: Rane is painfully under-socialized, and struggles to communicate with others effectively, verbally express themself, and anticipate reactions. While they crave social interaction, their low social intelligence can make interaction difficult and can make them come off as cold, uncouth and distant.

Generally, Rane is calm and collected and appears very unreactive. They’re quite bright, if the sophisticated way they speak is anything to go off of.

History(opt): What makes them strikingly different from the rest of the group is that they weren’t born: they were made. Due to the meddling of powerful, but admittedly inexperienced sorcerer, Rane came into being, the result of creatures from the outer plains coming to inhabit the scocerer’s chosen host, creating something new entirely. Rane lived under the socerer’s control for presumably years until the socerer’s sudden and violent end left Rane with nothing. Nobody had even known about Rane’s existence whatsoever, or if someone did, that they were intelligent and hadn’t died alongside the socerer.

With nobody to turn to, Rane joined the group out of sheer desperation and has stayed since.

Other: Rane has both sectional and complete heterochromia, so their eyes are completely missmatched: blue, green and yellow. Also, despite what the picture says, Rane has no wings.

Treleus

Age: He doesn’t remember, though it is often rumored he could be over 200.

Gender: Masculine

Magical Abilities(opt): To be considered one of the most skilled practitioners of magic in the providence, adept at control and manipulation of many aspects of reality, though he is by no means a master, and is prone to slip up now and again despite his noticeable skill in the arcane, albeit he exercises an extremely reserved disposition towards the use of magic when not necessary, and often will not use magic just to spite his enemies or even his allies.

Fighting Style Typically tries to non lethally incapacitate or imprison his enemies using his magic if he is given the option, though he may use his cane as a blunt weapon to ward off or knock out with.

Personality: Stern, stoic, cold and calculating; Treleus is the spitting description of most any disciplined spellcaster, and he’s just fine with that, though he practices a much more aligned moral compass, wishing more to clean up the streets than to get a reward for his efforts, though the money is nice, he values knowledge and experience more than material wealth. He’s more than willing to use his skills to do what needs to be done, but he under no circumstances is willing to use his magic for more than what is necessary, and views it as the absolute utmost disrespectful way to degrade the work he’s put into being the mage he is today, never viewing magic as a vice or a crutch, but a tool, only ever truly useful in the hands of a disciplined practitioner.

History(opt): Formerly a court wizard to a powerful lord, valued for his skill in the arcane by his master; far later he moved to broader horizons and adventurous expeditions of science and magic when he was constantly harassed by the locals for being a dark being that kidnapped children and used them as ritual sacrifices. He found that dishing out justice as a bounty hunter might just be a better way to waste some time then teach as some washed out academy professor, meeting Envy later in his hunting career, seeing her group as the opportune party to stick with for the time being.

Other: He’s more like an automaton than a man, though he has a soul; so I guess he’s a fancy Warforged?

The semi-sphere fishbowl that is his head contains an extinct plant called ‘kuora’, which somehow functions as the mage’s face; oh and he’s determined a dead fish is in there somewhere, or that the water within smells like it. The water will also churn when he is thinking deeply and visibly boil when he is angry.

His clockwork key charmed necklace was apparently the head of a doll he found in a ruin before he made it into a necklace.

He is constantly researching a place he calls ‘The Rift’, a place between here and nowhere that he proclaims will be the Magnum Opus of his life if he ever discovers a way to be within it. People just think he’s crazy, though; and I mean, he might be.

Tiarina ”Tia” Filane

Age: 110, physically 21.

Magical Abilities(opt):

Maltoth “Mal” the Lord of Lies;

Tiarina is in possession of an supposedly cursed ornate puzzle box that a dark spirit is bound to, whom has sworn to protect her as long as she does the bidding of the spirit and gives him something resembling freedom to do what he pleases, albeit he is forbidden to do anything outside what Tiarina wishes it to, thus, for example, he is incapable of harming anyone she wouldn’t want to, even if he tried. Maltoth and Tiarina are bound by souls and are connected at a physical and spiritual level, thus anything that happens to her happens to him and vise versa, though she is incapable of being damaged by what happens to Maltoth, she still feels everything he does, while it’s the opposite for him; and if she dies, so does he. Maltoth, being of ruinous power, is adept at destructive applications of magic, and is a force to be reckoned with, though the nature of the cursed box makes any destructive action on his part excruciatingly painful, thus he can really only attack in short bursts before it becomes unbearable to continue for him and his host, going on for longer than Tiarina can handle can lead to her losing consciousness or even going into shock; he can of course attack with strength alone, but he usually doesn’t want to, which Tiarina can’t do much about unless she’s in immediate danger.

Fighting Style Tiarina herself uses a shortsword, preferring to fight up close while avoiding attacks that come her way when she can, preferring not to use Maltoth unless she really needs to.

Personality: Tiarina is a spunky, adventurous soul with a will to see the world and do all there is to do, always wanting to try new things, go new places and meet fresh faces. She has a bit of a temper, and isn’t always willing to follow direct orders, wanting to do things her way above all else, and keep free and going with her own flow. She tries her absolute best to be kind more than anything, always saying that being a friendly face gets you places. She primarily does bounty hunting work to remain wealthy enough to travel and explore at her leisure, though she cherished the experiences she gains on jobs and all the places and people she sees.

Maltoth is an aloof, blunt and cold being, often viewing many things as a means to an end and just another pawn in the way the world runs, really only caring about himself at the worst of times, though he shows a unique selflessness towards Tia, though mostly because he has no choice but to protect her, he is extremely suspicious of anyone who interacts with her, almost like a jealous lover, eyeing anyone up and down if they seem shady, often commenting aside that they don’t like most people Tia talks to. He tends to hang around behind her, clinging close-by almost always, like a second shadow.

History(opt): Tiarina was born into slavery and was brought up within it for her developing years. While she was able to work her way to freedom, she had little purpose in the real world, and resorted to traveling to find a place where she belonged. She found Maltoth’s prison when gambling in the capital city, unaware the person she had challenged was a powerful warlock, looking to peddle off the box for free as a prize for winning against him in cards. Upon winning, and Maltoth revealing himself to her when she was alone, the two struck a deal to protect one another above all else, and for their own good. A short while later when Tiarina realized she’d need to settle down for a while, as she was running low on funds to keep moving, she tried mercenary work and eventually met Envy; the rest is history.

Other:

While Mal is technically metaphysical, he can still be harmed by physical beings; even he doesn’t really know how that works.

Tia doesn’t know how to write in Common very well, so Mal tends to write for her, alternatively he acts as a dictionary/thesaurus for her when she writes.

The cursed puzzle box 130% looks like the Lament Configuration from Hellraiser.

Entities of low mental strength either cannot see Mal at all or barely can.

Tia is deathly allergic to tomatoes.

Oleander Nerium Venenum

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Homosexual

Magical Abilities(opt): An extremely Toxic and acidic saliva that on impact (like an EXTREMELY potent bleach) Will at first cause stinging pain as it eats at the skin and surface of what has made impact. If not taken off or washed off in the time of ten minutes, it will eat into the skin and enters the bloodstream, where it will eat the flesh from the inside, out, reaching the heart in a time span of 13 hours. If it inflicts any limbs, within 30 minutes use of that limb will be limited to nonexistent. The smell the venom produces after it's made contact is rancid and very potent. Unable to ignore. Antidote is in the flower of his name, the Oleander flower. Where if consumed, while there will be immense and unbearable pain, will fight the toxins of the venom and terminate them completely. The Oleander's poison being terminated in the process as well.

Fighting Style Close range fighting, a Great sword coated in his venomous saliva.

Personality: Oleander is very cautious and is not an easy character to get close to. Often shying away from social gatherings and people in general. He listens and observes. More often then not if he's uncomfortable and being talked to, he will pretend to not understand common, instead speaking draconic and feigning confusion. That usually does the trick and has the strangers leaving in embarrassment. Around his team, his bashfulness is less, but he still remains the shy and quiet Dragon Kin he is in the public. He stays close to the crew, but doesn't speak much unless something needs to be said. There are days where he comes further out of his shell and will poke fun at a few of the members. Even when he's being reserved and softspoken he'll joke and tease when he can.
Oleander is VERY clean. Not enjoying going a few days without washing in a lake, or creek, disliking the enclosed surroundings of a tub (But loving the heat of the water.)
Smiles aren't rare for Oleander, but neither are they very common. He's normally seen with a chill, relaxed expression. A curious glint in his strange radioactive eyes. When he's approached by the female gender he becomes extremely uncomfortable. His sexuality isn't a secret though bringing it up turns him into an embarrassed mess, where he'll do everything in his power to change the subject.
Being Dragon Kin means that his grandparents were two of the very few dragons to use dark magic to turn themselves humanoid. Creating offspring. This came with dangerous aftereffects. Their carnivore instincts were never rid, it was the most potent genetic trait to pass down through the generations. If he reaches a rage point, or if he's been hurt enough, these animalistic instincts will rise, in turn Oleander will become a dangerous, though not unstoppable as he can definitely be knocked out by forceful or chemical means, and vicious killing machine.

History(opt): Like most dragon kin Oleander didn't know his parents. He was found and raised by a wild animal. In his case he was found by a clan of shadowstalkers. A feline species, this is where he gets his feline curiosity and independence, along with his cleanliness. felines are of his favorite species. He left the clan when the female who had raised him died of old age as he wouldn't be accepted among the others until he'd fought for alpha rights, as there were only three males permitted in the clans ranks. He was then found by an old scholar who taught him common, they spoke often though in the tongue that dragon kin knew at birth. Draconic. He was eighteen when the elderly man was hunted and killed by creatures of demonic origin, for something he'd done in the past. This was the cause for Oleander's hatred for the dark and evildoing.

ANALISE YUN

Magical Abilities(opt): meet the master of disguise. analise is able to change her appearance and voice at will with the snap of a finger.

Fighting Style: a natural gymnast, analisa isn't fond of pure physical violence and prefers weaving in and out of the fight. she doesn't use any weapons but might bring something that immobilizes her opponents like rope. instead of rushing up to her targets and trying to land punches anywhere on her opponents' bodies, she uses precise attacks that attack the pressure points of her opponents. x

Personality: a natural coolness surrounds analise. she exudes a calm and collected nature, almost never cracking unless she's extremely angry. it's almost as if analise is a blank slate, molding into whatever character she pleases when she uses her ability. that doesn't mean she's without emotion, though. analise enjoys the company of others when she's close to them, and she may be the most empathetic character within the group. her greatest talent is her natural affinity for understanding how people feel and why they feel the way they do. it's what makes her such a great actor and a great listener. if you need a therapist, talk to analise. she's also not afraid to reciprocate flirtations, crack jokes, or make the first move either.

mentally, analise is a great strategist, willing to put herself in the midst of the enemy at every moment. even without trying, analise is an incredibly convincing person that you feel okay with spilling all your secrets to. she puts people at ease and makes them think she wants nothing from them. this, coupled with her fearlessness at almost everything (except mirrors), leads to some reckless behavior. a little bit of her is condescending, as if she knows how everyone thinks. this puts her into some dangerous situations at times, but the group is always there to save her.

History(opt): no one really knows how analise joined with the group or got her powers. while she likes learning about others, analise is secretive beyond belief. every person that asks might learn a different story or they might not even get a story at all. whether they're true or not is up to the listener.

Other: a little bit of alcohol loosens her up. when she's not in control, her powers fluctuate wildly and analise changes appearances rapidly. she might also like wyatt but whatever

LYSANDER MORMONT

Age: 26

Gender: male

Sexuality: bisexual

Magical Abilities(opt): his eyes are magically enchanted to scan for any weaknesses but it comes at price when used longer than a few seconds. it gives him extremely painful headaches that might knock him out. he also dabbles in telekinesis and telepathy but lysander has to touch the object/person to use his mind abilities.

Fighting Style: lysander is awful at close-range combat. he resorts to using his telekinesis to manipulate objects around him to cut off any escape routes or movements. the farther away they are from him, the better. he's more like the control center when the team fights and always tells them where to strike the enemy.

Personality: cold, calculating, and tight-lipped, lysander is a closed off young man. you might even think he was mute. he literally sees the flaws in everyone and as a result has become a cynic over time. his life motto is practically 'no one is perfect'. he isn't someone who's willing to persist in the face of hard times and easily believes that all actions are useless. this fatalism is pervasive and can be seen throughout his life. his outer self is practically like talking to the wall. you won't get any type of reaction from him and most times not even a response.

while lysander may not say it, he appreciates being in the group's midst. he doesn't have much to contribute to the conversation, but he's always on the lookout for danger and would do anything to protect them. people know lysander as reliable as well, and he's highly intelligent in some of the most random subjects. to those that he's close to (surprising if there are any), he'd do anything to make sure they aren't hurt. he's not afraid of being blunt, though. if you ever want an honest opinion that may or may not ruin your self-esteem, refer to lysander. this bluntness has led to him being a bit isolated from people, but it's not like he wanted to be close to them anyways... right?

History(opt): little do people know lysander used to be the happiest and most optimistic person. however, despite looking through his rose-colored glasses, having magic eyes aren't as good as they seem. he was constantly frustrated due to ignoring his sight and instead believing to view the best in people. years of practice allowed him to turn off the sight but it was too late. he was too used to being pessimistic about society, and the pain that came with his ability was constant. nowadays, lysander thinks that the lower your expectations the better, especially with the ragtag group that is the Crow's Claw.

Other: he loves his trench coats. lysander think it makes him look suave af but i didn't tell you that.

Sadie Isabel Lessard

Age: 16 years old (Yes, she's under 18. Don't worry about it)

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Asexual biromantic (Sophia seems to be heterosexual biromantic)

Magical Abilities(opt): Has a semi-sapient duplicate she can spawn at will. This duplicate is dubbed 'Sophia' and can function independent of Sadie, though they partially share senses. She as such has a different personality and relationship with everyone which is consistent between summonings. They can be pretty synced up in fighting, and Sadie can often control Sophia if she's being troublesome. Or just unsummon her. She automatically disappears when Sadie goes to sleep. Sadie likes to keep her summoned, thinking of her as a companion.

Fighting Style Flanking together. Sophia prefers her fists while Sadie likes knives.

Personality: Sadie's a sweetheart with an adventurous streak. She likes bounty hunting- travelling's the gig, she gets paid for it, and she's got a partner who will never let her down! Two of them! Her brother and she are really close. Technically her half-brother, his time at his mother's kept them separated enough not to get tired of each other. They now spend a lot of time together, but still get along great, with common nerdy interests (and my God is she a nerd. Magic: The Gathering and hard sci-fi level nerd.) and understanding each other's prior living situation better than anyone else. She's really confident and sociable, and an unbelievable optimist, but gets irritated with negativity fast. When she's in a room full of negative people, she feels she has to carry the weight of being the positive one. She feels this a lot, like she has to carry the weight of the world on her shoulders, and do it with a smile. Even though no one asked this underage child to do that.

Sophia, on the other hand, does not. She has a very 'no consequences' mindset, because there's well, no consequences for her. She likes to solve her problems with mild violence- dope-slapping stupid people and such. She has the capacity to be sweet like her sister, but prefers to mess with her and others. She can be different, so she's going to be very different. This is displayed through petty pranks mostly; she has trouble being serious because any serious situation doesn't apply to her anyway. She's also an optimist, but not all sunshine and rainbows either. She doesn't think nearly high enough of herself to think she has to boost morale herself, however, so she'll often keep her ideas to herself and just listen to everyone else argue. It doesn't affect her anyway- she doesn't exist.

History(opt): Her mother was half-Japanese half-Korean and her father was variously Eurasian, largely Italian. She had a half-brother 9 years older than her, who she moved in with when her parents died. She wanted to earn a little extra cash for them, so she took on a few bounties, claiming she was 19. Her brother found out, but she convinced him to help her instead of stopping her.They haven't been in the group long, most probably still think she's 19. Sophia has a small stuffed moose named Lucy the Moosey that she used to hold as Sadie went to sleep because she didn't like knowing she was about to disappear. She still has it.

Magical Abilities(opt): He has webs of intricate light moving hypnotically between his fingers. Not literally hypnotically, but they're pretty distracting. Gloves will block them, so he often wears them.

Fighting Style: Choosy. He likes to choose his fights, so any fight he doesn't want he'll distract his opponent and run off, but he's skilled with knives and hand-to-hand, and likes to catch his enemies by surprise. Catching him sneaking up on you is a really fast way to scare him off.

Personality: he likes to be intimidating looking, and thinks he pulls it off pretty well. However he's not really that scary. He's basically a huge nerd. He loves the science behind stuff, and playing chess and go with his sister and anyone else who would play with him. This has trained his mind to think through everything before doing anything, but he's a fast thinker and expects everyone else to be on the same page, so sometimes he seems to jump right into something Leeroy Jenkins-style. Without telling anyone his plan. When he explains he thought it was obvious, he can sound brash and egotistical. He's not really, but he's not selfless either.

History(opt): Mostly Italian. He is the legal guardian of his half-sister, and now in a bounty hunter with her.
