  • a cool air brushed across his face, whiskers twitching as his small pink nose wiggled with the scent of the clan he came to approach. finally, it was time to retire from the mortal coil and take his place in the shadow veil to grow old and die. muscles and joints rippling as he took slow leisurely steps onward, paws dragging alongside the border but not quite crossing it. he wanted to scope out the place before he made his presence known. dark, dank, bland, quite empty of colors. he couldn't possibly imagine why anyone would want to live here, but then again, he was here.

ears perking the cream feline was slow to cross the border, placing his paws into the shadows that properly belonged to the veil. he wasn't exactly fond of it but he could grow comfortable. he was hoping to settle down someplace warm with burning beams of sunlight but he supposed he could adjust. it never was difficult to adjust. he just couldn't help but wish to settle down somewhere so different from what he was used to. he was always lurking in the shadows, living like a shadow itself and waiting for targets to linger a bit too closely and let a knife pierce their flesh and slit their throats. but he supposed to see his family he'd live with it.

  • [ tags ] -- There had been more joiners as of late, and Hyperion had grown used to the feeling of unfamiliar scents on the breeze. Between their merge with the Rogues and all of Ver's family popping up, the tiger felt like there were more new faces than old around here. He didn't dislike this, and found himself feeling quite eager to get to know all the new folks. And yet, he knew that it was his duty to apprehend border-crossers until they identified themselves as potential joiners or as enemies.

So, on swift paws, the white-and-gold tiger approached this newcomer, bi-colored eyes holding steadfast on the man's face. "Hello there," the tiger said, coming to a halt in front of the feline. Hopefully the tiger's bulk would prevent the stranger from taking many more steps into the territory, at least until he'd identified himself. "My name is Hyperion, Darkseeker of the Veil. What is your name, stranger? And what brings you into our territory?" His words were politely phrased, but that didn't mean he assumed friendliness. He simply didn't believe that one could get more out of a person with violence and threats than you could with kindness. So he waited, a vaguely pleasant expression on his aquiline face, to learn of this newcomer's intentions.

pick a star on the dark horizon and follow the light.

  • head lifting the pale tom allowed his equally pale eyes to land on hyperion, cold and suspicious his eyes dragged themselves across the tiger's frame like claws before he offered a simple and robotic looking nod. subtly stepping back he made room to breath before speaking, "the veil.. i was told that a mercy reaver and twilight zone break were here." head tilted back ever so slightly he allowed himself to stand tall as to look less like he was looking up at hyperion. the thought that either of his parents might've been here sent a spike of faint contentness through his lean frame. "my name is doppelganger," he finally introduced with a flick of his tail as he ignored the second question asking his business.

he would probably stay here even if his family was absent. he wasn't in the mood to kill anymore innocents or not so innocents. maybe he could finally settle in and learn a little more than the basics of herbs. he had only ever known what would benefit him in case of an injury and that was that. he figured after so long of killing animals he could try his hand at saving a few of them instead.

  • ★ ★ ★ "what's your business with them?" enjolras would ask bluntly as he joined the duo. his own clear blue eyes held suspicion for doppleganger, though the effect was probably lost due to his soft appearance. curse the body change; it made it harder to assert himself in situations, not to mention his shit hearing. the white and grey ragdoll stands stiffly next to hyperion, casting a glance to the older feline before returning his attention to doppleganger.

  • drawing his pale gaze onto enjolras he remained silent for a moment. he cared about and cherished his family but it always did feel strange to admit that he did in fact have one. after so many months of being a nameless man without a face or without a family he would certainly feel strange to outwardly admit that the two women were his parents. internally cringing his frown seemed to deepen only slightly as he weighed his options. feel strange in his own skin by admitting that he did have family or just join and ignore mercy and twilightzone's presence. exhaling softly he finally spoke, "they're family."

with an almost dismissive flick of his tail he rumbled out, "i'll be joining."
