  • A storm had been brewing when he had left camp... He had told himself, he'd only be out for a short while.

But one thing led to another, he had lost time, and before he knew it a heavy storm was raining down upon SkyClan. Thunder, lightning, of by the stars the gods were throwing a damn fucking fit today weren't they?

With his long fur now soaked and weighing him down, he began to make his way back to camp so he'd be able to take shelter within the warriors den. Little did cats know that being within trees during such a storm came much higher risks of getting electrocuted instead of just remaining on the ground. Did anyone within the clans even know thunder could electrocute you? Probably not... they probably weren't even too sure what being electrocuted meant. Not like they were twolegs and they were around such things that could every single day...

Swiftly the white warrior nears camp and eagerness to get into shelter pricks at his paws. He couldn't wait to get dry, maybe eat something real quick, and then take a nap... he was tired...

But suddenly overhead a rather large snap could be heard, startled he stops in his paw-steps.

What was that...? He thinks as his bright yellow gaze shift up to look at the sky above him. But instead of seeing the dark gray clouds and droplets of rain falling down, he sees a large branch.

A loud hiss of alarm escapes him- and he swore he had began to move out of the way- but it must have been too late as a heavy force landed upon his back. Another loud snap can be heard, but this time it wasn't the sound of a branch snapping off a tree.

    Fuck!

A loud yowl of agony escapes the warrior from where he now lays on the ground pinned by the heavy branch that had fallen on him. He couldn't... he couldn't even feel anywhere past his shoulders anymore...

But he didnt even notice that at the moment, all he felt was pain... and the usually fearless feline was now... scared. Scared of what else might topple onto him if he can't break free from the grasp of the branch.

"Some...someone! Help!" He screams out, claws digging into the earth below him as he desperately tried to pull himself away from the branch with his upper body, but more pain just shot through him as he did so...

    information.

kestrelswoop had been on a border patrol with a couple of npcs when dark clouds had rolled in, blocking the sun and turning the blue sky a dull gray. the wind began picking up as they trudged along, heading towards camp, tree branches swaying and sending more dying leaves falling to the forest floor. before long, the patrol was being pelted by the torrential downfall. hissing with frustration, kestrelswoop would quicken his pace. starclan just couldn't hold off on the storm until he'd gotten back to camp, could they? he hated getting wet. and now, his fur was soaking and plastered against his sides, probably making him look like a drowned rat. cinnamon-hued ears flattened as he made his way through the forest, drenched and irritated and cold. he was so, so ready to retreat into the shelter of the warriors den, dry himself off, and curl up in his nest.

that was when lightning flashed in the sky above, illuminating the forest in an eerie blueish-white glow. a deafening crack of thunder shook the sky, drowning out the sound of a snap in the distance. but not the loud yowl of agony that came afterwards. kestrelswoop's ears perked, eyes widening as he looked in the direction of the scream. was another clanmate injured? did another cat fall out of a tree, possibly startled by the sudden lightning strike? or worse, was another one of his clanmates dead?

he took off towards the direction of the sound, stopping dead in his tracks when a large branch suddenly blocked his path. another yowl split the air, voice suspiciously similar to his uncle berylbreeze's, pleading for help. and it sounded like it came... from underneath the branch. his eyes darted down, catching sight of a white tail sticking out from underneath the branch. "berylbreeze!" he picked his way around the branch, running up to where his uncle's upper body was protruding from under the tree limb. great, another clanmate injured. first honeywillow, and now his uncle. at least they had a trained medicine cat here with them... whirling around to the npcs on the patrol, who had followed him here, he barked out orders to them. "you, go get minksplash and charcoalpaw!" he hissed to a young warrior, who nodded and took off towards the camp. then, to the others, he said, "help me get this branch off of him!" kestrelswoop placed both front paws on the branch, pushing with every ounce of strength he had. it was times like these that he cursed his lean frame, wishing he had the muscles and strength that some of his clanmates possessed instead. but he hoped that with his and the patrol's combined efforts they would be able to get the branch off of berylbreeze.

  • The deputy had been in camp when news reached her of Berylbreeze's predicament. The NPC warriors Kestrelswoop sent back came barreling into camp, shouting for Minksplash and Charcoalpaw to help as there had been an accident with Berylbreeze. Those were the only words Heronswoop needed to hear before she took off out of camp.

She didn't know exactly where to go, but following the scent of the NPCs, and eventually the sounds of Berylbreeze and Kestrelswoop she found her way there. Shock flooded her amber eyes when she saw her mate lat there, partially stuck under a fallen tree branch. "Berylbreeze!" She cried out, before rushing to Kestrelswoop. She was not a large cat herself, but she would put every ounce of strength she had into moving the branch off of him. "Let's countdown and then try and push it off him," she suggested, glancing between Kestrelswoop and the fallen branch.

  • "No, wait! Don't try pushing it off." Wolfshade exclaimed as he quickly approached. He'd heard the desperate calls of the npc and despite his hesitation, he took off toward the scene. He arrived to see his classmates preparing to push the heavy branch, but that wasn't the greatest idea. "We need to lift it and pull him out. Pushing it could do more damage." The tom rasped, a frown forming on his face as he glanced at Berylbreeze. He felt his stomach twist, he didn't see a happy ending in the other tom's future.

  • ToUQPFN.gif Her heart was thumping against her chest. Her former mentor was being crushed. Starclan, let him be okay. The newly made warrior ran as fast as she could, wanting to help. Her blue eyes looking over the small group that had formed. "I- I don't think I'm big enough to help lift it. But I can help pulling him." Breezetail offered, wanting to be of some help.

  • Juniperthorn had seen cats crushed beneath trees before, but never this bad. Through the crackling of lightning, the roar of thunder and the terribly heavy sheets of rain pelting relentlessly down on him, soaking his cinnamon fur to an ashen brown, the warrior's attention was only focused on Berylbreeze and finding him after panic had spread from NPC warriors and cleaving cries of pain. He'd never been remarkably close to the white warrior but he wasn't a heartless maniac- seeing him lying there helplessly yet clearly in horrific agony wrenched his heart to extents he would never admit, but he forced it down. Oh, god, this poor guy couldn't catch a break, could he?

"Yes... lift and pull. Pushing will-" he cut himself off. Everyone knew, he didn't have to speak the morbid reality of it. Interrupting himself with a sigh, his gaze scanned the cats standing around them. "Kestrelswoop, Wolfshade- we'll lift up the branch, together. Heronswoop, Breezetail can help drag him away from it. How does that sound?" he asked, tone hurried as he dashed into position, ready to lift the branch once everyone had settled into whatever position they wished to take.

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ Maplepaw watched with wide, horrified eyes as her clanmates clustered around the fallen tree, frozen in shock at the sight of her father nearly being crushed under its weight. She couldn't think, she couldn't speak-- what were they going to do? StarClan, help him.. a shiver was sent down the young apprentice's spine, her long, soaked pelt hanging down like curtains over her hefty body. She had been in camp, asleep in her nest, when she heard the loud crack of the tree and the loud boom of thunder. She had only brushed it off, and curled tighter in her den. It horrified her now, to think that in that moment, her father's life had been thrown into danger. It wasn't until her panicked clanmates arrived in camp that she got up, running after her mother as they were led to the place Berylbreeze was trapped. And there she now stood, watching as the white tom struggled for his freedom. No -- this couldn't be happening! Fear scorched her head and gripped her chest, and for a few more moments, all she did was stare. It was Juniperthorn's voice that shocked her back to reality, and as the senior warrior threw out orders, she focused her gaze on him. She had to help-- she couldn't just sit there while her father was in so much pain. With a shake of her head, the hefty feline bounded forward to take position near the others. "I can help," she spoke shakily, giving her best attempts to steady her voice, "I'm strong, I can help lift the branch." It was true; being a Maine Coon mix, even at her age she was almost the size as a full-grown warrior.

dad?” kestrelswoop’s gruff call had lured charcoalpaw to the scene. he was horrified to see his father pinned beneath the branch of a tree. “dad!” he rushed over to stand next to the warriors, looking back and forth between them. “what happened? no-... we need to get this off...” charcoalpaw eyed the limb with weary eyes. there was no he could pull it off himself that would be stupid to try, especially with so many able bodied cats around him. he listened as juniperthorn spoke and nodded. his name wasn’t there but he could help drag him out just as well. “we can take him straight to the medicine den.”

to say that kestrelswoop had been relieved when heronswoop had come to his assistance would be a severe understatement. he certainly wouldn't have been able to get this branch off of berylbreeze by himself; he lacked the physical strength to do such a task. heronswoop wasn't too stocky, herself, but maybe, just maybe... they would be able to get berylbreeze out if they worked together. he gave a determined nod to heronswoop, taking a deep breath. "one, two-" wolfshade's voice rang through the forest, interrupting the mink warrior. he was ready to whirl around and demand why they shouldn't push it off, but wolfshade was speaking again before he could, explaining how pushing it could lead to more damage. golden eyes glanced back to berylbreeze and the branch. wolfshade had a point. he'd been so caught up in trying to get his uncle out, he hadn't considered that pushing the branch off could potentially cause more damage. he just hoped that he and his clanmates had the strength to lift it.

juniperthorn came next, barking out instructions to the lot of them. and then, maplepaw chimed in, offering her help as well. and he nodded to her, not able to find the will to argue in such a dire time. besides, she was a hefty apprentice, her strength could certainly be useful right now. "right. c'mere, maplepaw." he motioned to a spot beside him, positioning himself so that he could lift the branch with his clanmates when they were all ready. "we lift on the count of three." he waited for them to all prepare themselves, then, he began the countdown once more. "one, two, three!"

  • It wouldn't take long for cats to answer his call, but between the shock and the pain- and how everything seemed to be happening so fast he found it difficult to comprehend even what exactly was going on. His bright golden eye would watch his beloved mate arrive at the scene, then Kestrelswoop. Push the branch off? Yes... just free him of this damn thing... He wanted nothing more than to just go back to camp... Deal with whatever injuries this branch had handed to him.

Foolish Berylbreeze, even through the pain he was optimistic this wouldn't be that bad. That he'd be fine and tomorrow he'd be on his merry way doing warrior duties.

Little did he know he'd never do them again. Then Wolfshade arrives at the scene, saying something about pulling it off of him. Whatever, so long as this thing just got off of him and he was freed he'd be happy.

    Or not.

More and more of his clan-mates began to show up, most of them kin in some way or another... Juniperthorn whom was an adoptive brother of his, despite never getting close to him, Breezetail... his former apprentice. He was still unbelievably proud of her, Charcoalpaw and Maple paw, his beloved children, Kestrelswoop... his adoptive nephew through Buckwheat.

    Damn... They were all here.

"Hurry- hurry, I can't even feel my tail anymore this thing is cutting of so much circulation." He growls out, or maybe it was because the branch fucked up his muscles that made up his lower body? Maybe he had more to worry about than just a little loss of feeling in his tail. Maybe.

He braces himself to pull himself from under the branch once its lifted- if their attempt is successful.

//so sorry for the choppy post and taking 2 years to respond adhsbgsdg

  • Heronswoop's idea to push the branch off was quickly corrected by Wolfshade that it would be better to lift rather than push. A smart idea really, Heronswoop noted. In hindsight pushing could have potentially only made things worse.

More cats soon began to arrive at the scene, including Juniperthorn, Breezetail, and two of her children Charcoalpaw and Maplepaw. She would nod her head at Juniperthron's suggestion, and move round to Breezetail's side to help pull her mate out from under the branch if need be. His words about lack of feeling in his tail concerned her, though she thought better than to bring it up at that moment. They could check on his possible injuries after if need be. "Okay, Breezetail, you ready to grab him?" The deputy would ask the younger warrior, once Kestrelswoop began his countdown. When he finally got to three, the lilac calico was quick to mobilise. "Quick! Let's grab him now!"

  • Similar to Heronswoop, his words about a lack of feeling in his tail struck him with worry he refused to show on his face. Scowling with concentration and concern mixed into once horrible pot, he nodded toward Maplepaw wordlessly, ears twitching as Kestrelswoop again began to speak. Upon his countdown, when he got to three, with all his might Juni would lift. Aided by the others, he felt it move up, knowing most of them would have to give a lot of strength- the cinnamon warrior winced at the terrible weight of it all. "Hold it for as long as you can!" he called through gritted teeth, vision blurred from the weight he was lifting. Hopefully, by the time their muscles had all given way, Berylbreeze would be out of further danger.

  • Wolfshade nodded and positioned himself against the branch. Upon Kestrelswoop's counting down the tom shoved himself against the bark and pushed with all his might. Even with the help the branch was still extremely heavy, but lifting it had still been a better idea than pushing it of of Berylbreeze. Now someone just needed to pull the tom out.

  • Minksplash had just so happened to be here tonight, she had intended on going home only awhile ago but when this storm kicked in? She had been advised by an npc warrior to stay within camp until it passes, and honestly? She agreed, by the time she got home she'd probably be ten pounds heavier with all the water soaked into her fur. But... it seemed even though she had stayed, and thank god she did, her fur would be getting a little wet.

Cats raced out of camp at the call of a voice whom was unfamiliar to her, she spotted Charcoalpaw leave as well. All she could think was... oh no... something had happened.

So she leaves the medicine cats den and follows the group.

And after arriving- a bit late, she sees Berylbreeze trapped under a heavy, heavy branch.

    This isn't good...

She never had experience in much major injuries (aside from eye loss, as cat after cat in WindClan seemed to loss them for some reason), she prayed to the stars she'd be able to deal with whatever awaited them. And if she remembered correctly, this tom was Charcoalpaw's father.

The last thing that kid needs right now...

When the branch is lifted, she moves over to the large white tom and bites down onto one of his paws and begins to try and pull him back, he's bigger... Maine coon in him. She'd need some help if he was going to budge.
