_{upon first meeting lucina, she’s most often regarded as loud and shameless, not really keeping much to herself in terms of opinions -- if she has something to say, she'll say it, with little regard for any consequences that may come her way for doing so. she’s very extroverted and tends to dominate every conversation she’s apart of, not exactly sticking to the shadows as a thief of her calibur might be privy to do. despite her lack of tact in social situations, she can be extremely cunning in the right setting, and has a knack for strategy. her calculation skills come in handy whenever her explosive temperament rears its ugly head, as even though her natural instinct is to launch into a fight the moment someone sets her off, which is quite often, she usually comes out on top every time simply by outsmarting her opponent and thinking quickly on her feet, though her many years of experience with hand-to-hand combat doesn’t exactly hurt, either. aside from winning fights, her cunning is also an advantage when it comes to thievery and stealth; whenever she’s faced with an opportunity to steal, she’ll assess any weaknesses of her target and utilize anything she can find to use to her advantage before cracking her knuckles and going in for the kill.}

_{she's childish in the way that she absolutely loves anything that gets her adrenaline pumping, and her idea of fun would be seeing blood spill in a bar brawl or getting as wasted as she possibly can without dying, often leading to many blacked out nights and waking up in an entirely different place than where she’d originally passed out. she often finds creative ways to satiate her own boredom, and can be reckless when following her own gut, though she doesn’t really seem to fear anything and isn’t one to back down from dangerous situations, always regarding them with a blase attitude — “please, i’m not in danger. if anything, they should be scared of me.”}

she was pretty much born into destitution, as both of her parents were commoners, though she doesn’t really remember too much about them besides the fact that they were always moving around, never sticking to one place for too long. however, she does, unfortunately, remember her mother and father being violently murdered in front of her by members of a street gang at the tender age of 6. at the time, she was in a hiding spot behind a piece of decayed wallpaper, watching from a peephole as the thugs ransacked their house in search of anything of value while her parents lay lifeless on the floor in a pool of their own blood.

she was practically forced into growing up prematurely, as she had to learn to fend for herself on the streets in the underbelly of the city, outrunning nuns whenever they caught sight of her for fear of being sent to the orphanage. in the back alleys, she learned to conceal herself in the shadows and watch silently as children her age would pick the pockets of unsuspecting rich folks. she made friends with them quickly, and learned their ways through trial and error, sometimes landing herself in hot water but somehow always getting out of it some way or another, slipping through the hands of authority as best as she can.

by the time she was 12, she became affiliated with a local thieves' guild, the black vipers. their notoriety and skill in the craft were unparalleled and though they were by no means a family, lucina flourished with them, honing her skills under the tutelage of a retired master thief and even joining in on a few heists. it all recently went awry when her guild member went too far with planning to kill an entire family while they were sleeping on a job she was in on. upon finding out, lucina had the instinctive reflex to drive a dagger into his side about 20 times before realizing what she'd done. thankfully, they were the only two on the job, so she didn't really have any explaining to do, ending up taking the money for herself, leaving the body, and running as far as she possibly could. she's cut ties with the black vipers entirely as a result, and works on her own as a rogue.

**on one job during her time with the black vipers, she was given the task to kill a dragon to obtain an elemental sword for a noble who didn't want their hands dirtied, but failed to do so out of hesitation and barely escaped with her life, her semi-blindness as a result from a severe cut the dragon had dealt her.
