  • The kingdom of Gilhold was filled with fools. At least, that's what the witch thought.

It began with an offense from the queen and king. No one in the kingdom knew what the offense was, not really. Just that it made the witch very, very angry towards the royal family.

The witch set a curse upon their infant daughter, and the parents were horribly distraught.

But the queen and king found that their daughter grew up healthy, and after years and years of her life they forgot about the supposed curse. The princess lived a great life, and was sold off for marriage in a foreign kingdom at 18.

A few years passed. but the princess did not bear an heir to the foreign throne. In fact, she couldn't get pregnant at all. And her parents suddenly realized what the curse really was:

    The princess was infertile.

The witch had since died, but her daughter was kind, or at least kind enough to give the sobbing king and queen a deal. If the princess would only serve in the witch's tower for a year, the curse would be lifted. She would be the witch's servant, would do whatever the girl wanted, and then it would all be over.

The parents didn't need to ask their daughter. They agreed immediately.

//so basically the plot here is that the princess has a curse of infertility, and to lift it she's forced to spend a year as the servant to the local witch, locked up in her tower. At first their relationship will be rocky, but slowly they'll build a relationship, and eventually a romance. Leave a lil form for the princess (I'll play the witch) and we'll get started!

    Stella Djinni

Stella was in a bad mood to begin with.

She couldn't believe herself. Letting the queen and king, those murderers, strut up to her tower and beg for their daughter's freedom. It was pathetic. The curse made perfect sense; A child traded for a child. A simple trade. A fair trade.

And yet Stella couldn't bear the queen's tears and the king's cries as much as she wanted to tell them it was simply fair. She couldn't watch parents cry over their child. She couldn't watch her mother then, and she couldn't watch the queen and king now.

Stella had made a stupid deal. Simply a year, a year and the toll would be paid. A year of prison was the price of her sister's entire life. At least she had gotten something; At least her sister's life was worth something.

And so Stella rose that morning, in a worse mood than most, ready to greet the princess. Her new roommate. Stella couldn't help but laugh at the thought as she dressed in the plain black robes her mother had passed down and descended the stairs, down and down and down until she reached the ground floor. God, who thought it was a good idea to put the bedroom so high? This day was going from bad to worse.

Stella stepped outside into the rain and wanted to scream. The deal, the stairs, the weather--the entire world was trying to spite her, wasn't it? The girl crossed her arms and pouted as she waited for the princess to arrive in her carriage. Hopefully, she wouldn't take long; Stella was already soaked.

Aisling sat in her carriage with the most ugly look she could manage on her features. The aura that surrounded her beautifully clothed form was on of utter fury. She had made it obvious to her parents that she did not want to spend a year with the witch, and it wasn't even because of the curse. Honestly in her opinion the curse wasn't even a big deal, sure she couldn't have children but in reality she didn't even need to have a child to produce an heir. Their were plenty of orphaned children who would be great heirs, but of course her parents cared more about the purity of their blood line rather than what their child wanted. Was Aisling selfish to want that her parents asked her before deciding on ship her off to work for a witch for a year.

Her mother was the first to speak. "Darling please don't be mad at us, we only want the best for you." She spoke gently trying to sooth her daughter's burning rage. Aisling choose to ignore her mother's words flicking her blue eyes to the window watching the rain fall. Her father then spoke trying to back up her mother. "We know this is hard, but once it is all over things can back to the way they once were." Her father was awarded with an eye roll and a harsh laugh. Of course they would say that. "Of course they will." She mumbled softly to herself hoping her parents will stop talking to her. Aisling simply wouldn't agree with their supposed "reasons" for sending her off to the witch. 'I wonder how she feels about this.' She couldn't help but nervous with the changes see was staying with felt about this whole thing.

It wasn't long before the carriage pulled up to the witch's tower. The first thing she saw was a woman stanning out in the rain, and it was obvious she was soaked by the way her dark clothes seemed to become on with the ground ashe hose she was rising out of the ground. She didn't even bother to say good bye to her parents before climbing out at the carriage to greet the witch. She ignored the rain raising her hand up to prevent it from getting in her eyes. "I apologize for being late." She apologized wanting to start things out on a good note. Her dark hairs quickly took in the rain gluing it down to her skin, but she didn't mind.

    Stella Djinni

Stella's mood did not improve as she stood in the pouring rain, watching the carriage decorated in royal colors slowly roll up to her tower. When they finally arrived, she was standing with a scowl, arms crossed. She simply gave a humph to the apology the princess gave and spun around on her heel to open the doors of the tower. "Deliver her belongings to the third floor," she said to the servant.

The witch did not want to waste any more time. She grabbed the princess by her wrist and pulled the girl into the tower, pulling the door shut behind her as soon as the servant scurried their way back out. She pulled down the bolt and turned to see the princess. "I know you don't want to be here, and trust me, I'm not exactly excited to have a guest either. But the world isn't fair to princesses and witches. We'll both have to simply make due." Stella made her way onto the spiral staircase. "Come on now, let's get this over with."

"This is the kitchen," she said simply as they stepped up onto the second floor. She didn't stop, continuing up on the next set of stairs.

Stella hadn't been at all sure of what a princess would need, so the bedroom she'd assembled was a hodge podge of everything she could find that she thought would be wanted. There was a bookshelf, a desk filled with paints and pens and knick knacks from the study, a telescope leaning against the window. "Here's your room," she said almost sheepishly. "I hope you'll find it adequate. I don't exactly know what a princess' needs entail, so simply let me know if there's anything I can give you. Your washroom is just through there, and there's a little balcony beyond the window, if you're ever in need of fresh air." She blushed, hoping it was enough.

"Above is the library. You can spend as much time there as you like. The floors above that are my private quarters; You aren't to go up to them under any circumstances. Nor are you allowed to leave the tower. Your duties are simple: Make breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the both of us." She sighed and let herself relax, having said all the mandates she had managed to come up with. "I hope you enjoy your time here. Or at least, I hope you don't feel like more of a prisoner than you are."

Aisling can't say she was expecting a warm welcome from the witch nor was she upset at her if she was a little irritated. She had to wait out in the rain to ensure that she would indeed arrive to go through with the deal her parents had agreed upon. She watched as the witch spun around on her heel to open up the doors to the tower. Her eyes watched as the servant nodded their head at the witch's request of delivering her belongings up to the third floor. 'Well now I know where I will be staying.' Aisling was admittedly not expecting too much when it came to her living quarters since the witch was going to have to deal with her invading her home all because her parents couldn't deal with the inconvenience of her curse.

There were times that Aisling selfishly wished her parents would simply leave her has is then maybe she wouldn't have to stay married to the prince. She was brought back to reality grabbed onto to her wrist and dragged her into the tower. She stumbled forward a bit at first not expecting the tug but quickly corrected herself to fall into a good pace beside the witch. 'I should get her name later.' She made a note to herself not wanting to keep referring to the witch, as well the witch the whole time she would be here. When the witch spoke she simply nodded her head and followed after her as to not fall behind. She gathered her dress in her hands as she climbed up the spiral stair case already dreading the outfit her parents choose for her to wear. Aisling didn't complain though simply keeping pace as the pair made their way up the stairs onto the second floor. Aisling made sure to note where the kitchen was placed since it would most likely be important.

When they reached her room on the third floor it was safe to say she was impressed and content. It was nothing like the giant room she was used to living in, but it was perfect to her. She smiled to herself before calming herself down as to not freak out her new housemate. She turned to face the witch with a straight face, but it was obvious that she was happy by the light in her blue eyes. "This will be perfect, and thank you for letting me have access to your library." She gave a quick bow to show her gratitude before asking the question that had been on her mind earlier. "There is one thing I wanted to ask though," She started out not wanting to make her new housemate upset with her. "Is it alright if I may know your name?" She felt it would be rude to go around and call her things like witch and the like when she wanted to ask her about something.

    Stella Djinni

Stella couldn't help a bit of pride forming on her face as she saw light dance in the princess' eyes for a moment, betraying her happiness at the arrangement before her; A part of her was relieved that the room had been enough. Stella had always lived rather simply, trying to make the most of the resources around her. She had no idea how to provide for a princess, someone so used to luxury. Stella truly wanted the princess to be happy where the was. She knew it wasn't her fault that her sister had died, and she was sure that the girl didn't appreciate being punished for a crime that happened before she was born.

But despite this, Stella wasn't planning on forming any sort of friendship with the princess. She was entirely ready to turn on her heel in this moment, out the door, heading back to her life of solitude. She was ready to only see this girl once or twice a day, in passing, never exchanging a word.

It was silly of her, of course, to think everything would stay the same; But Stella wasn't prepared for change.

Which is why she was so floored when the princess before her asked her name. It was a simple question, but Stella stood there for a moment with her mouth slightly open, taken aback. She hadn't been prepared to answer any kind of personal question. "Stella," she said softly, trying to choke the word out amid her surprise. She cleared her throat. "My name is Stella."

She looked over the princess before her with a slight grin and rose her eyebrows. Of course, it was just as well that she shouldn't only refer to the girl as princess; if they were going to spend a year together, it was only right to know each other's names. "And what shall I call you?" she asked. "Unless, of course, you prefer to be only referred to as princess."

Aisling was pleased to aquire the name of the woman she would be staying with for a year. Stella, it was a nice name and she believed that it suited her, and no it was not because she was a witch it was because she looked at her with a slight grin and a raised brow. She felt that Stella suited her name by the way she went out of her way to make Aisling comfortable even when she didn't need to. "My name is Aisling, and please don't call me princess I hear it enough as is." She hoped that she didn't sound rude or nothing like that but after twenty years of being called princess and your highness she wanted a bit of a break from that even if it was for a short while.

Aisling then remembered something. "Oh, I wanted to thank you for going out of your well to help my family," She was asked it nervous to thank Stella but it felt like the right thing to do. "I am not trying to gain your favor or anything you deserve more credit than I feel my family is willing to give." Aisling went a bit softer near the end, she was almost mumbling. Her blue eyes drifted to the wooden floor boards. Her parents still blamed Stella and her mother for what was wrong with her, even if it was their own greed and selfish ways that brought this upon them. Aisling could only hope these words didn't upset Stella.

    Stella Djinni

Stella laughed. "I understand," she said with a smile. "I'm certainly tired of being referred to simply as witch; I'm sure you feel the same. Perhaps we'll find some solace from those names with each other." Stella didn't think she and the princess were all that different. Both of them had been given these livelihoods by their parents; neither of them had chosen their current situation.

She pursed her lips as the princess continued, nodded along. "I'm flattered," she said with a laugh. "I'm simply trying to fix what my parents have done, as you are." She knew it was unfair to punish the princess for something she hadn't done; The girl truly felt a bit guilty, but she had to honor her family at least somewhat. She couldn't let her sister's death have no consequences.

"I should thank you," Stella said softly, "For bearing this burden. I doubt you love this situation, painless as I'll try to make it."

Aisling was far from upset with Stella. She knew that her family deserved to be punished for the crimes that they had committed but because they were royalty no one could stand up to them and say they were wrong. Stella was truly the only one who could show them that the choices they made came with a price. Aisling respected and admired that power honestly, how effortless it was for her to make her parents comply. "Don't thank me, this is the least I could do to try and clean up after my family." Aisling would often think about when she learned the truth of the relationship between Stella's family and her own. She was shocked that he parents had taken an innocent life for no reason other than the fact that she was different. Aisling was determined to right that wrong, and maybe make a friend in the process. "Now, is there anything I can do for you?" She was eager to get to work. She was never hold to do any work her parents claiming that it would make her unattractive, so she was admittedly looking forward to getting a bit dirty.

((Sorly this took so long school was kicking my butt))

    Stella Djinni

Stella smiled at Aisling, giving her a curt nod. "Well," she sighed as she looked out the window at the rising sun through the rain, "I've yet to have breakfast. I would love to get a taste of your cooking, if you don't mind." The witch was interested in trying some of the princess' food; It would be most of the food she had for the rest of the year, after all. She stepped to the side in the doorway, making way for Aisling.

//no sweat, i totally understand lmao
