  • This would come as both a shock to those close to him, and yet a long time coming. His ma–no, Saturnstar. He was sure that Saturnstar would be most understanding about it, as well as the most heartbroken, but it just... it felt wrong to stay here when it was clear he didn't fit in with everyone else. He was different from them, and that was okay. It had nothing to do with his personal feelings, and he would be sticking by that story, should anyone ever come to find him. Rather than stay to say goodbye, Tuna had written a note, so there was no chance for anyone to try to change his mind. It was short, sweet, and to the point. All it held was a quick goodbye, and well wishes to those he cared for most: Saturnstar, Fox, Cosmo, Cham.

  • a note. a fucking note. had neptunianpaw not had the deceny to even speak outloud on why he was leaving? all he did was leave a stupid note! as cosmospaw read the note, he felt it crumbling in his paws. "why?" every bone in his body said cry, but he couldn't. he was just so angry. it was foreign and unwelcome to be so angry but he couldn't even control himself. hissing slightly, the feline leaned down, ripping the paper with his teeth, tail lashing angrily behind him.

  • Ver didn’t need to be literate to know what this was, his scent was stale and the look on his brothers face was all she ever needed to see. Another son had been lost, had left them and their was more of a finality to it than there was with Imp. Saturnstar didn’t need to lose anymore, she may not have been close with her godson but she knew damn well the loss of a child was the greatest pain would could face. This was a son from her first litter, a son who’d dearly been loved.

She sighs as she comes besides Cosmos about to lay a wing on him before she notices that he’d begun to rip up what was written. She would try to attempt to snatch it from him even if it was already torn wanting to piece it together ”Cos! This has to go to your parents don’t!” she barks at him voice loud and only as kind as she can make it be when she’s thinking and acting so quick.

Nico held so many regrets, but none of them were as strong as the regret of having not been there for his sons and daughters as they grew up. Circumstances had been out of his control, but had they really? He was sure, if only he had made some different choices, he would have been here. Then maybe things would be better, maybe things would be the way they were supposed to be. He had reached out to Neptunianpaw, just as he had with Cosmos, but he hadn't been given the same reception. He couldn't blame the boy for being distant, it was only natural to feel less than forgiving when your father shows up out of the blue after being gone all your life. It would have taken time, and effort, to even get to the place where they could consider themselves acquaintances, much less friends or a father; and that was even if both sides felt the need to put build that relationship.

But, whether or not his son would even want that, would now remain a mystery. For the time being, at least, as no one even knew if he was going to eventually return. Nico watched as Cosmospaw began to tear up the note, before he was stopped by Ver. Nico could put two and two together, seeing the heartbreak, the stale scent and the empty room. Neptunianpaw had left. Nico felt a pang, a pain in his heart at the sad realization. More than feeling sorry for himself, however, Nico thought of Saturnstar, and all the Overseer had been through; now, on top of that, one of her sons were gone. Then there was Cosmospaw, who, with even just a glance at him, anyone could tell was heartbroken. The young tom had also been through so much recently, and this just seemed to make it all the more worse. Nico would be mad -- in any other circumstance, he would have been, just as when Trashboat had left -- but now, he didn't feel he had the right to. Instead, the Blackguard only sits next to Cosmospaw, gazing at the damaged note with an cold, resigned sort of expression.

"He'll be fine, I think," he stated in a soft whisper, attempting to give the reassurance that, even though Tuna wouldn't be there for them to protect, he would at least be safe on his own.
