  • In the silent breeze, Virgo smiled as the breeze hit her face. Not too strong, not too weak- just right. White clouds strolled by. Other clan members smiled and spoke around her. It felt like someone- be it starclan, the whispers, or whoever lived in behind those perfect clouds, made this day in particular special.

She paced in a small circle, trying to decide what to do on such a fine day as today. She didn't notice that she did this when thinking- of course, most of her thoughts raced at night when her body refused to move, and most of the thoughts themselves were unpleasant. Today was so nice! She was so excited! Virgo mindlessly sped up her pacing, not noticing the cats that had began to look at her with strange looks. She was in too good a mood to care.

  • HISTORY DOES NOT GRIEVE FOR THE FORGOTTEN MOTHERS ——— TAGS

she had learned of virgo through mumbled prayers and soft whispers that had danced upon the fall winds. the sight of the molly, dancing through life, had brought ferfaen closer to her comfort zone. never in her fenced in life had she a care or a worry, for everything was perfect. still and calm, nothing could hurt her.

circling, like a vulture to forgotten prey, had virgo spun. almost drawing ferfaen dizzy as she had watched. eyes rolling and flickering with each paw step and grass-filled step. the other’s carefree and calm, maybe even excited, attitude had been as much infectious as it was alluring.

"a fine day, isn’t it?" autumn was always nice, the lost girl recalled. each fallen leaf was a delight and the crisp winds may have bit at her lungs, but it was so clear. she had always loved the early mornings, where the sun struggled to climb higher and painted the sky in such bright and loving shades of pinks and purples. wonderful, she would always cry, wonderful to see it. wonderful to breath it. wonderful to be alive in autumn. "had something good happened? you look blissful." she was used to the oversharing her neighbours had. gossip spreading like dandelion seeds. but everyone here seemed far more silent, far more closed off.

Something... Something isn't right about him...

Leaf-fall had always been the young tom's favorite season. Some days you would feel comfortable and content while a nice breeze passes you by– such as today– whereas other days the oncoming leaf-bare nips at your skin as the wind picks up, only to return to the previous climate. The blue abyssinian slowly reopened his eyes from where he was seated: his posture much like that of a dog proudly showing off. His chin was slightly raised for a moment before it inclined, the short, peach-colored fur on his chest slightly ruffled from the stirring air.

Dark, olive green eyes had now cast their gaze over an unfamiliar she-cat who paced a small area. He was curious as to what she could have been contemplating, but at the current moment, he was rather impressed with how she managed to pace with a missing leg. Nonetheless, he found the sight quite calming: her red pelt and movement almost reminded him of a leaf slowly descending to the forest floor, drifting back and forth in a loop much like how she did.

Not too long after a good couple of minutes passed, another she-cat approached the pacing one. A skinny thing, with something around her neck and a messy flame-point pelt. Silentpaw's head tilted slightly to his right, watching the duo from afar. He wondered how they would interact with one another, but he supposed he wouldn't be able to hear their voices that well from where he sat.

A brief internal debate ensued, causing his tail's darker end to flick. Should he join them? It might be fun to just wait for them to notice him staring. However, even if he did approach, it's not like he would talk: he didn't do that often. Perhaps just to say his name and get introductions out of the way, but otherwise he'd just stay as his name tells: silent.

Triangular audits itated, perking forward to strain and listen before finally he gave in. Lifting himself on long, slender legs, the younger male would start to make his way over slowly yet gradually. Once close enough to be considered a part of the conversation, he would take a seat again and let his gaze sweep between them. Well... now he was in this.

  • At the approach of others, Virgo paused her pacing. The molly who had stopped to chat was someone she knew by vague whispers of tragedy, but not by name. From the stories, though, Virgo felt an odd kinship to the other- something she hoped wouldn't scare the cream-coated cat off.

"Oh! Yes, yes, it's- it's lovely," smiled the red molly, matching leaves now decorating her coat, "Though, nothing has- has happened besides good weather. I was- was thinking about what to m- make of such a nice day."

Though thoroughly stealthy, Virgo's natural jumpy instincts brought her to look around her and Ferfaen with urgent eyes- nothing around them but other cats it seemed.

"I was thinking about may- maybe collecting some flowers." her ear flicked over to the tom who sat listening in, "If any of you would e inclined to- to join me."

Something... Something isn't right about him...

Picking flowers? The young tom released a soft, barely audible huff of amusement: his calm expression unchanging. Although, he supposed any flowers still alive would die soon when the seasons changed again.

"... Sure." His response was quiet, and gritty: the voice of a young man who had never really used it before. It seemed he didn't like to use it much either as his ears would twitch backwards for a moment.

He would also flick his tailtip towards his own flank, trying to gesture towards himself as he added in an even quieter voice, "... Silentpaw." The blue abyssinian's throat was probably hurting him a bit, but he didn't cough or try to clear it: simply, he gazed at them with that expressionless mask and waited for them to continue. Although he didn't see the use of picking flowers, he supposed it would be a pleasant distraction. Maybe they'd find a flower stem that bled, too. He heard of plants with red in their stems, at least, and he'd be very curious to find one and inspect it.

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ Though Maplekit wasn't very fond of the weather that was growing ever-so-gently cooler and breezier, as she knew it would inevitably lead to a freezing leaf-bare, the spunky kit loved to see the leaves beginning to fall off their trees. As boring as sitting around camp was for an energetic kit who already had the energy of a working apprentice, she found entertainment in watching the occasional leaf fall gently to the ground, most of the time pouncing to catch it mid-air. There weren't a lot, as they still had a little ways to go before leaf-fall, but it was entertainment enough.

Having been doing exactly this -- waiting in a crouch for a leaf to come floating down -- the distant mention of flower picking caught her attention, and the speckled kitten sat up, ears perked. She wasn't sure she'd find much interest in such an activity, but what if they were going outside the camp? Maybe she could convince them to let her join. Without much contemplation, she decided to give it a shot, and began to make her way towards the three, her tail raised high as she trotted over with light paw steps. "Why are you picking flowers? Are you going to eat them? That's nasty," Maplekit interjected as she casually joined the three, sitting as pompously as possible with her head held high and tail wrapped around her paws. She asked because, well, she honestly couldn't think of another practical use for flowers other than eating them as medicine -- and eating plants was just nasty. "Can I come?" Maplekit then asked innocently. She looked to Virgo, then Ferfaen, then Silentpaw, almost as if looking to each of them for confirmation -- though her expression looked more a little demanding than pleading.

Something... Something isn't right about him...

He had been distracted long enough that another clanmate had joined them, and this time it was a kit he had seen around every so often. However, her words had been so random to the tom that a small sound popped from his throat– a restrained scoff of amusement. She... was actually quite tall– it couldn't be more than a moon before she was going to be an apprentice like him. Sometimes he forgot how old he was, but now he was reminded just how young he was since she was probably a little taller than him even with the gap of a moon.

What also surprised him– just a little– were the guts on this kit. She definitely had the look of someone controlling the situation, and he briefly wondered if she was the kind to throw a mini tantrum if she didn't get to go. Nonetheless, tha tapered appendage behind him would sway a little in greeting while his gaze panned over to Virgo for her response to the newcomer's question.

  • Virgo chuckled as she glanced down to the kit- they were so funny! She knew the child's question was one said in complete seriousness. but there was something humorous in a her immediately throwing her opinion out with her inquiry. That's nasty.

" I agree, eating flowers is- is nasty," Virgo scooted herself to give Maplekit room in the conversation, "Which- which is why I thought it might- might be more fun to pick them for de- decoration."

She blinked over to the amusement on Silentpaw's face- very slight, matching the man of few words, but there.

"I would lo- love if you would join us, as long as you make sure- sure that someone tells your par- parents where you've gone. I'd hate to- to put any mothers or fathers in a panic."

  • While his prickly exterior may incline some to think that Juniperthorn wasn't fond of flowers or that 'prissy' sort of stuff, but in reality he was much more fond of such a hobby as he cared to admit. As a kit, trapped within the confines of camp, decorating the camp had been one of the starving few things he'd taken enjoyment in. Hearing of an expedition to pick flowers, his interest was piqued as much as he hated to say it. It'd be a nice shot of nostalgia, something to keep his spirits up (which, stars above, he needed right now). With impending war and the constant worry on his mind about Mothshine's wellbeing, maybe picking flowers and feeling like a kit again wouldn't be so bad.

"I'll come, too." he murmured, eyes flickering down to Maplekit; Heronswoop's daughter, right? "Virgo's right. We'll have to ask your mom, but I'm sure you'll be allowed with all these grown-ups around." he said, shrugging. In reality he didn't have a damn clue about parenting, much less knowing about how okay Heronswoop would be with letting her daughter out of camp, but he was quite fond of Maplekit and sure she'd be able to handle it.
