  • "Hey!" Carrotkit raced out of the apprentices' den, tail stretched like a banner behind him and ears erect with obvious curiosity. He skidded to a halt in the middle of the camp, tiny paws digging into the grassy ground. "Do 'sheep' really exist?" One of the apprentices had kindly volunteered to entertain him for a few minutes, but some of her stories had been so fantastical that Carrotkit couldn't help but doubt their verity. 'Sheep,' for example, sounded completely made up. Big animals that looked like walking clouds? That couldn't be real!

  • FLYPAW . NINE MOONS OLD . AGENDER .

flypaw was dragging a rabbit nearly half their size to the freshkill pile, when a shrill voice caught their attention. from the corner of their eye, they spotted carrotkit rushing out of the apprentices den, spouting some silly nonsensical questions about whether or not sheep existed. though, flypaw supposed it was normal for a kit to ask something like that; they were pretty stupid sometimes.

dropping their catch, they padded up to carrotkit, blinking down their snout at the smaller tom. (oh, how they were revelling in being taller than someone. it was unfortunate that carrotkit would most likely surpass them in height soon. curse their small stature.) "of course they do," they stated matter-of-factly. there was a pause, and then, an idea formed in their head. they leaned down to carrotkit's level, lowering their voice in hopes that no one else could hear their next words. "if you really doubt their existence, i could show you one."

  •         "Y-Yeah! They t-totally are! She meows with excitement, echoing Flypaw as she approached the scene. She loved sheep! They were so cute! They were like small walking clouds! She liked hanging around their pen when they were out and chatting with them. Not hearing a word of what Flypaw next said she continues, "I'm friends with some! They like company once th-they get u-used to you! Wh-When you're and apprentice I-I'll have to take ya there!" She purrs.

  • XAVyxoV.gif Sheep? She had seen them once or twice since making this place her home. It was kind of funny that a kit thought they could be made up. Velvet was still a little confused on the rules of a clan. Kits couldn't leave camp, they had strict rules, and Starclan. Hmm. She guessed it was nice to go somewhere after this lfe. She still had a lot to learn, that was for sure. "You're friends with a sheep?" .

"She's friends with everyone and everything." Duckthroat meowed, just in time to catch Velvet's words and be able to respond. Carrotkit's commotion had been hard to miss and his interest had been peaked enough that he left his lounging spot near the warrior's den to come over. "Sheep are alright. Cows are cooler." He added towards the kitten, his tail sweeping over the ground as he spoke. Sheep fur kinda freaked him out anyways, it always looked so dirty. He was sure if he ever got the chance to touch it then he would hate it.

I've not seen the roaring fields in so long!

Were sheep real? Of course they were. Every once and awhile the creatures wondered into their moors. Cows were real too. The large, smelly figures were sometimes unpredictable, and he took caution whenever they were around. One startled cow could trample a cat with ease.

You’ll get to see many animals when you are an apprentice. Cows, sheep, chickens, birds, all kinds of things.” Carrotkit wasn’t too far from becoming an apprentice. He’d be six moons by, what, the next meeting? Starclan he needed to start thinking of some mentors.

Unable to see, it was particularly hard for Hawkpaw to try and piece together what a sheep looked like, or most moor-dwelling creatures for that matter.

"I mean, I've certainly smelled them. For all I know they could be invisible, though." He replied, amused at Carrotkit's wonder of the world around him. Kits weren't jaded or bitter like some older cats, maybe that was why Mink chose to spend so much time around them. He certainly couldn't blame her for wanting to spend time in the nursery rather than surrounding herself with the sickness and death that were intertwined with life in the medicine den.

  • Fluxpaw had been intrigued with other animals too back when he had been a kit, but... in quite a different way to how Carrotkit had. His dissection of many prey animals had been a source of chagrin from his mother and father, who had yelled at him plenty of times for doing such a thing, for wasting prey. He'd learnt a lot of things when he was a kid just from doing that, things about the bodies of creatures and how they were built and worked; for example, he'd never asked whether a certain thing existed or not, because he'd found out some way or another. Be it Wolfbite bringing him weird creatures to mess with, or stories from the apprentices, Fluxpaw had been a little bit ahead when he had ascended to becoming an apprentice.

"Nyahahaha," Fluxpaw giggled in such a distinctive way that it'd be impossible for anyone not to tell that it was him. "Imagine if sheep were invisible. You'd be walking across some empty field and suddenly crash face first into a big cloud!"
