WHEN I AM DEAD I WON'T JOIN THEIR RANKS

    .oOo.

Just so everyone is on the same page, im backwriting it so that when he disappeared (late april) it was because he was trying to lead a badger away all by himself, and he was assumed dead!

    .oOo.

    .oOo.

One foot. One foot. One foot.........

Eaglespirit slowly made his way down the Thunderpath, head high as he limped towards the place he had been trying to get back to for the past couple moons. Windclan. Home.

He shouldn't be here, and he knew it. It was a miracle he survived the badger, even moreso that Rogers found him and was able to patch him up. If not, he knew he would've been dead in the ground right about now. But thankfully, not only was he still alive but finally able to walk again. It had been sad to leave the other tom behind, but Eaglespirit had to get back to Windclan and Rogers was perfectly content where he was, and didn't want to come with him.

The giant tom stopped in his tracks, suddenly overcome with emotions as the distant scent of the border came to him. He was so worried he would never experience it again. His pace picked up some, until he was going as fast as he could towards the open field he had grown to care so deeply for. Nearing it, he almost started to cry as he could start to distinguish some scents that he recognized. His clanmates. He wanted to go straight into camp and collaspe in the den, however he controlled himself and sat down at the border, waiting for someone to come across the still-injured giant.

    .oOo.

  • Typhoonstrike was on one of his patrols. He loved patrols and he went on them whenever he could.

Then, a memory tugged at him when a scent reached his nose. He went towards it and was very surprised when he saw who it was. "Eaglestar? How are you still...alive?"

  • Ironclaw was taking a walk through the territory, trying to clear his head. The gentle slopes and springy foliage of the moor always seemed to help him through difficult times, but the comforts of his home’s territory weren’t enough this time.

Halcyon’s return had jarred the former deputy. Though he may have claimed to be a complete stranger with no knowledge of the clans, Ironclaw was wise to his scheme.

Still...should I say something? I know that Haycloud is fond of him. If I get him kicked out it would break the poor kid. But how do I reconcile with his past? His crimes?‘

Ironclaw was still contemplating this when a familiar scent hit his nose, and the sounds of a conversation made it’s way to his perked ears.

The tomcat became a blur across the moor, racing towards the border. He skidded to a halt in front of the warrior.

“Eaglespirit? Great starclan, I thought you were dead!” He then noticed that they were on distinctly different sides of the territory. “Don’t just sit across the border like some kind of loner looking to join! You’re a clan cat through and through!”

Soon enough, a patrol arrived over the hill with Typhoonstrike and Ironclaw (among others). He paused at hearing his old name of Eaglestar, but thinking back did the other warrior ever stop calling him that when he stepped down? Perhaps that was just a quirk of the other. But before he could really answer the question of how he was still alive Ironclaw was there right beside him, asking the same thing. Apparently the clan thought he had been dead -- an understandable conclusion. The same thing happened to Jasperstar, after all, and Eaglespirit had to declare him dead.

But still, at the warrior's beckoning the giant got up and limped into the territory, relieved to feel the soft grassy surface under him. It felt so good, felt so right. The corners of his mouth twitched up at the whole moment. "It's good to see all you as well -- as you can tell, I'm still alive if barely. I'll tell everyone about it when I get back to camp: I need to visit Rosevemon, or Hawkpaw or Minkpaw. My wounds haven't been truly looked at for months." He stated in his characteristically flat yet smooth voice.

    .oOo.

  • "The medics are now Halcyon and Hawkpaw." Typhoonstrike states.

"Follow me, we'll get you some help and you can meet Lizardstar if you haven't already."

The Typhoonstrike would get up and start to try and lead the large tom towards camp.

Halcyon and Hawkpaw? What happened to the other two? Especially Minkpaw -- she was his niece basically, and if something happened to her because he wasn't there he knew he would never forgive himself. And who was this Halcyon? Must have been a new joiner that came after he left. Hopefully they knew their way around the clan and the medicine den. At least Lizardstar was still leader.....it wasn't long after he was promoted that Eaglespirit went missing, but he had always had faith in the 3 legged tom.

Eaglespirit nodded silently and followed the warrior towards the camp.

  • OOC; TEXT HERE

IC; Sparrowpaw had been practice fighting with a fellow NPC when her ears twitched at the sound of the camp entrance moving, which usually meant that a patrol was returning. She would release the apprentice she had pinned down successfully, and with an excited shake she would bound over to the entrance, maybe Morningfrost was back and they could train!

She of course recognized Typhoonstrike and Ironclaw, giving them both a purr of respectful greeting, but the last face would cause her to pause and tilt her head in curiosity, "Wow, you look alot like Eaglestar..." The cream and chocolate she-cat would take a step closer before her whiskers twitched in surprise, "Wait a minute....Eaglestar....is that really you?"

there was a lot of noise happening and frankly, it was giving the folded eared molly a headache. Short legs, short tail, and a short muzzle. Not to mention her chunky body of which her belly keeps growing every day. There was a faint scent of milk on her, if you weren't trying to find that scent, you wouldn't have noticed. Pumpkin orange eyes looked over to where the commotion was. A giant was there. She thought that giant cats were just a fairytale? Then again... Every cat is a giant compared to her. The fat, folded eared munchkin came waddling over, each step causing her to over exert herself. By the time she joined the group, she was panting. "Huh...huh...huh... WHOO! O-Okay noow SpArrowpAw who is this mAn? I reckon I don knoow 'em. They be froom this clAn befoore I can recAll?" She turned to the tom. "Hey ther' fella! Betcha comin from a loong trip eh? Why doncha coome an lay down fer a bit. All tha' walkin must be tierin."

Sure enough, as soon as they arrived in camp they were joined and greeted by several others. He briefly wondered if the clan would even recognize him after the months on his own, but his unspoken question was quickly answered. Sparrowkit -- or he guessed Sparrowpaw now, she was obviously much bigger and more grown than she was when he disappeared -- was the first. Eaglespirit wearily dipped his head at being called Eaglestar again. That was a shame of his, he never deserved to be called or thought of as a leader. Leaders were cats like Jasperstar, Morningstar, or Lizardstar.

"The only leader here is Lizardstar -- I am simply Eaglespirit. But yes, I am alive, somehow or another." Eaglespirit stated to the young molly, voice flat as always. Before turning to the other one who joined the little group. Was she new? It was good that Windclan had grown in his absence. "I am Eaglespirit, and yes this is my home." It felt good to say that. For so long in his life home was something that felt unattainable. "My son was the late Buzzardflight. That is really all you need to know about me." He stated. It hurt to think about the deaf medicine cat, however he refused to let his memory fade from the clan.

Ah yes, you caught her. She was new to the clan, but not like new new. She has been here for some time. The clan knows her so that's good. Smallpool had wondered into the clan just after the tornado. She came upon the destroyed camp with wide and sad eyes. The molly was skinnier then. Not much food was available in the outskirts of a loner. She was down in camp exploring when she was found. Ever since then she has been a WindClanner. She even developed a bond with some cats. Morningfrost, her best friend. Rulindil, the deputy and future father of her developing kits. And the medicine cat of ThunderClan, Garin, also a future father of her developing kits. What can she say? She is a lover not a fighter.

What Eaglespirit said about his son, made her folded ears flatten. The 32 moon old molly sighed. "Sonny, come 'ere!" She waddled over to him and tried to give him a hug. "Justa know... Even if he is deAd, he ain't gone. All the spirits of the deAd still roAm with us. They still loove us. They still wAtch us. I betcha ya son be proud his daddy came back to the clAn y'all know an love."

  • Eaglespirit is back!

Did you see Eaglestar is on his way to the camp?

I heard a patrol found Eaglespirit.

The ebony tom's ears twitched as he tried to listen to the rumors that his clanmates were spreading in the cave as a warrior spoke to him about the apprentices. Finally the news was spreading so quickly that Lizardstar had to dismiss the warrior, and leave the conversation to find out what was going on. The tom padded towards the tunnel that lead to the surface, and as he approached from the exit, he was met by the group surrounded by the former leader. His eyes notably widened, and a smile replaced the small frown. "Eaglespirit! We thought for sure you were in Starclan, but I am delighted to see the rumors are true!" Even though the darkness from the cave made his clanmates hard to see, there was no denying that it was in fact the large silver spotted tabby. "Halcyon and Hawkpaw should be here soon. They might be out collecting herbs. They've had to completely rebuild their stock after the swirling cloud claimed our home."

  • Typhoonstrike was surprised by how fats the rumors spread, but at the same time he wasn't. When the scent and sound of the current leader, Lizardstar filled the tunnel, the senior warrior moved out of the way to let him through. "Wait. Eaglespirit? Well, I suppose he isn't leader anymore. Maybe I should try to stop calling him Eaglestar..." Typhoon mumbles, just loud enough for others to hear, but quiet enough that it could be said that he was talking to himself.

Could it really be...? Another former leader returning; first it had been Morningfrost, and now Eaglespirit. A heightened sense of smell that made up for his lack of sight caused him to pick up on the scent of stale blood upon him.

"You need to visit the medicine den?" He asked as he padded up from behind the group on lithe marbled tabby paws.

  • ❝ I AM NOT AFRAID TO KEEP ON LIVING ❞

Halcyon knowing his way around herbs and the camp was an understatement. Though truly not Windclan-born, Hal still grew up in Windclan, before... shit happened, basically. Now, he was a traitor. Halcyon had ran to Bloodclan of all places, yet because no one knew of his crimes, was able to not only rejoin Windclan but also claim a spot as the medicine cat -- at least temporarily. The mottled tom had been ignoring the commotion happening, busy tending to the herbs he and Hawkpaw were able to collect with the others. But when Hawkpaw slipped out of the den, his curiosity piqued, and the long furred tom followed his apprentice out.

Trailing behind Hawkpaw by a few foxlengths, the sight of who was waltzing around camp shocked Halcyon nearly to a stop. But Halcyon was Halcyon, not anyone else, right? And he obviously didn't know this Eaglespirit dude, right? Right? Slowly coming forward, sky-blue eyes focused on Eaglespirit, Halcyon sat down and prayed on his life that Eaglespirit didn't recognize him. Giving the former leader a glance over for injuries, as he'd be treating them shortly, Halcyon attempted to locate weak points in Eaglespirit, just to make sure he had ways to defend himself if it... came to that. "Hawkpaw, if you could lead the newcomer back to the medicine den, I'll be preparing poultices. He looks like he could use some rest." Turning tail, Hal quickly disappeared again, returning from where he came.
