  • Pain wasn't something the snow white tom was acquainted with. Maybe aside from getting a thorn in his paw pad and a scratch here and there. But real pain? Pain strong enough to make a grown cat cry out loud? Considering most cats seemed to find themselves injured badly enough to gain their first scar as an apprentice it was safe to say Berylbreeze had been pretty lucky not to not have any scars imprinted on his body yet, but today that would change. He'd be in the wrong place at the wrong time, the orchard. He had been stupid to go alone, but he had figured a small peak to see what was up wouldn't hurt anything. Well, he had been wrong. He had been greeted nearby the orchard with a large black paw giving him a slap in the face he'd never forget, pain surged down his face and the damn badger even managed to give his left eye a good scratch. He fought back of course but- considering the amount of pain that was surging through his face and the amount of shock that had hit him the badger easily ended up giving Beryl a few more cuts and bruises, and not really in the mood to you know- potentially get killed by the beast he fled.

Eventually to his relief he made it back to camp with a small limp after awhile. He was- well a mess. His fur was tangled, small scratches covered his body and to Berylbreeze's dismay his poor handsome face had a few deep gruesome gashes running down it. He couldn't even open his scratched eye. With bared teeth he calls out, "Somebody for StarClan's sake- help. My face feels like its going to fall off!" He complains with a wince, damn even the slightest movement made his wounds flare up. At least maybe this would make him look a bit more intimidating eh? He can't help though but glance around for Heronswoop and his children- he didn't want them to see him all beaten up. Especially the children, the last thing he wanted was to scare them or something...

//lame post but the boy got beaten up lmao.

A ton of minor scratches are scattered over his body but the biggest thing is that his face has three pretty big gash marks running down it and his eye was scratched. He'll either be partially blind out of said eye or totally blind I haven't decided. <3

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ At the sound of her mate's cry, Heronswoop's ear pricked up, and she damn well near barreled out of the warriors den, forcing herself to slow she wouldn't go flying out and land on the floor below. When she eventually approached her mate, she found herself hesitating in front of him, the sheer shock of the sight of him giving her pause. "Berylbreeze? What happened?" She would ask softly, her voice laced with concern. The scratches and gash marks did not trouble her as much as it might others; Heronswoop had certainly seen much worse sights in her life. Still, that didn't stop her feeling full of concern for who, or what did this to him. And how severe his injuries fur - with his thick fur it was hard to be certain.

She would brush up against, giving him a reassuring look as if to tell him it was okay to lean against her. "Come on, lets get you to Brookfur."

  • ToUQPFN.gif Seeing her mentor this way sent shivers down her spine. Her heart began to pound and she felt like she may even pass out. Please, Starclan, don't take anyone else away. Breezepaw had already lost her mother, father, and siblings. The molly wasn't sure if she could survive loosing anyone else. Her blue eyes look them over, but she knew she had to stay out of the way. So the apprentice stayed still, watching stiffly as they make their way to the medicine cat. "" .

  • And of course- to exactly the opposite of what he was hoping for before he knew it with his one non-scratched-the-shit-outta golden eye his gaze lands on Heronswoop. A frown is displayed on his maw and he begins to slowly limp over only stopping in his tracks when the two are standing by each other. His lips curl in a snarl, "Badgers... I figured the orchard needed to be checked up on, I didn't even get that close to it but before I could even spot it the brute slashed my face. The rest of the story I'm sure is... well self-explanatory." Maybe he had fucked up? Maybe it had been plan stupid to check out the area alone, or perhaps the badgers were just growing more hostile to anyone in the relative area of the place. He didn't know... but one thing he did know is that SkyClan needed to take action. They needed to drive the badgers out. He swore if it got much worse he was making sure Kestrelpaw and Charcoalpaw stayed well within camp, hell Heronswoop too. He was done and tired of losing cats dear to him.

His claws dig into the ground for a brief moment, anger surging through him. He had always had anger issues... just that with age he had learned to conceal them a bit more. Which in a sense wasn't good either, allowing everything to build up only for him to eventually explode wasn't good. He had to bite his tongue to make sure he didn't start screaming and hollering about how action needed to be taken on the black and white creatures now.

Though he's snapped out of it when Heronswoop gives him a small reassuring look, if any cat could calm Berylbreeze down really by doing nothing at all but existing it was her. With a small sigh, he nods and allows himself to lean against his mate. Admittedly, having some support relieved him of some aches. He begins to limp along but as he is doing so he spots Breezepaw in the distance. Damn, another cat who didn't need to see him like this... Still as they passed by he gave her a small painful smile.

  • Ears swiveling around, golden eyes would widen as the little Chartreux found Berylbreeze leaned against Heronswoop, bloodied and weak. The tom reeked of badgers and the medicine cat needed no further explanation. Flicking her tail in a gesture to set the tom down in one of the nests, Brookfur went quickly into her stores, looking to dig out the herbs she would need to tend to his many wounds.

The Clan had been fortunate enough to not have to deal with many vicious injuries like this in a while, so Brookfur's stores were plentiful with greenleaf and disuse. Her abundance of time had left the she-cat lonely and grieving for the sister and brother she had lost but could tell none of her Clanmates about. She was withdrawn, reclusive, and Brookfur hated feeling that way, knew she needed to interact with her Clan more. But it was hard, the darkened mentality she had towards life and towards their ancestors pushing her to withdraw further into her den without company. But moments like these, where she was sought out for her abilities, reminded Brookfur that she had a found family out there, and she was pushing them away, and if she continued, they would one day stop relying on her.

Returning with her herbs, Brookfur breathed through her nose around the sharp tang of the plants and promised herself to be better as she set to work.

  • As he limped over he'd give Brookfur a brief strange look at her gesture, huh? He could barely see, his vision was blurred and aside from that his pain was enough to make him block out voices let alone gestures. Though eventually he gets the hint and slowly sits down trying his best to avoid irritating his wounds anymore then they already were, though he lets out a small snarl once he is seated as pain flares up again. "There is no way in oblivion that my children are leaving camp until this badger mess is sorted out." He grumbles with a sharp flick of his tail, "I'm a fully trained warrior and that thing could have easily killed me if it had been faster... I refuse to see any SkyClanner return back dead because of them! We need to act now or before we know it they'll be swarming camp."

    Ugh... his face burned!

He looks at Brookfur with a single golden eye before opening his maw again, "Give me something to numb the pain, for StarClan's sake I feel like I'm on fire!" He grunts in clear pain as he gives another sharp lash of his tail.

  • Oh, someone was getting a bit aggro, weren't they? Brookfur wasn't going to be happy about that. It was Beryl who'd been so stupid as to stumble over to the badgers alone- he was sure someone was going to berate him for it. Sure, Beryl was 8 moons older than Juni himself, but the cinnamon tom was arrogant enough to believe that he could have done the same quality job as the alabaster warrior, and he knew he'd be shouted at if he attempted such a thing. But for now, he'd swallow his contempt- or at least, as much of it as humanly possible.

"Just don't use up the poppy seeds," he mumbled, narrowing his eyes as he walked by in the direction of the fresh-kill pile.

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ Badgers. Of course it would be badgers. And here Heronswoop was, hoping they'd leave on their own accord, and hopefully not cause any trouble. A part of her wanted to scold Berylbreeze for being so reckless and going to the orchard by himself; he may not have known for certain whether they'd still be there or not, but he should have gotten someone else to come along with his as a precaution. Despite wanting to reprimand him for his actions, she knew now was not the place.

After Brookfur finally found them, Heronswoop would carefully help Berylbreeze settle comfortable in his makeshift nest. At his words about their children, she bobs her head in agreement. "Whilst they're still so young, I think that would be best," She mewed. If one badger could do this to Berylbreeze, she hated to imagine what they'd do to a young apprentice barely out of the nursery.

She felt a pang in her heart to see him in so much pain. The thought of losing him, after losing so much else in her life pained her greatly. "I know it hurts, my love," She soother, giving him a gentle lick behind the ear. "Just try to stay calm. Brookfur will give you something for the pain soon."

  •         "Well with the amount of pain I'm having flaring up all over my body I may just have to." He grumbles in response to Juniperpaw, honestly mouthing down a whole bunch of pain killers sounded rather tempting... Sure he'd realistically probably die but Beryl was an idiot when he was angry and annoyed. Which- is exactly what he was right now. Really if he knew better then to bite his tongue at some comments he'd probably begin to say some really mean shit pretty soon. He lets out a small groan and allows his claws to sink into the bedding below him, his eye- his eye, "MY EYE- MY EYE." Dammit, the badger must have gotten it good huh? His whole entire face just burned and honestly he was afraid if he opened up his scratched eye it would fall out or some shit. Though as he heard Heronswoop's voice his ears folded back and he went quiet with a small sigh, his ear gave a gentle flick at her lick before he nods. "I'm trying... I'm trying." He murmurs quietly, he just hoped whatever Brookfur planned on giving him would work its magic fast, because if he had to deal with this for much longer he was going to blow.

  • Tail flicking with irritation at being snapped at, Brookfur bit back a snarky reply towards the tom, knowing that he was only like this because he was in pain. Normally she wasn't so forgiving when others snapped at her, but even still, her emotions were clear as day in her golden eyes as she moved to deposit a small mouthful of poppy seeds in front of the tom. "Eat those first. They'll help numb the pain within a few minutes and relax you so I work without you thrashing in agony." The medicine cat's tone was clipped, and she knew that she was far from the picture of a calm and loving medicine cat that everyone expected, but she was past the point of caring. She had lost so much and driven herself into a corner, so Brookfur felt she was within her rights to be snippy, even if none of her Clanmates knew what this position in life had cost her.

Turning away after depositing the poppy seeds - knowing her stores still had enough for Juniperpaw's requirements - Brookfur went about collecting the herbs she would need for Berylbreeze's eye and other wounds. She had flicked a quick look over them and knew exactly what she needed to do. The eye would be the tricky part, however.

    "speaking thoughts"

  • ✦ ✧ ✦ "I know you're trying," Heronswoop echoed. "Just keep trying to ignore the pain as best you can."

It was a relief to the lilac calico, when Brookfur gave him some poppy seeds to help with the pain. At least that should help calm him and numb the pain. Heronswoop would watch quietly as Brookfur went about collecting the other herbs she'd need. When the chartreux reappeared, she shot her an appreciative look, and mouthed a silent "thank you" for her efforts so far. A moment passed before she wound tentatively ask a question. "How severe are the wounds?"

  • ToUQPFN.gif She felt like crying. How could he smile at her like that? The apprentice stayed away but watched from a distance for awhile. Breezepaw felt her heart thump against her chest. Was he going to die? Starclan, she really didn't want to lose anyone else. Her blue eyes stare ahead as she gently claws the dirt below her. Why did cats have to keep getting hurt. Releasing a sigh, she kept still. Waiting to hear what would be of Berylbreeze after everything has settled. "" .
