Our story takes place in the heart of the medieval kingdom of Ethenia, in the palace of King Reginald Ithal, his queen, and his numerous children. The palace is extremely lavish and well decorated, even in the kitchens and servants' wings. It is also a massive palace with seemingly endless rooms, and as such each servant gets their own room with the bare necessities. However, life is not easy for the servants. Any small action that angers the king will lead to large punishment and, if he is particularly cross, death.

Servants in Ethenia are tired of this bad treatment. They are tired of being treated like dirt. As such, the serving class in the palace have begun to conspire against the king, and some are even planning to overthrow his rule and instate their own government. Of course, this must be kept behind locked doors. Anyone could be listening, anyone could let word get back to the king. And that means instant death.

There are seemingly endless jobs in the palace, but some examples are:

-cooks and scullions

-maids and butlers

-horsegrooms and stable workers

-guards and knights

-nursemaids

-physicians

-blacksmiths

-seamstresses

Even some of the higher ups are beginning to work with the servants against the king.

i. all characters are servants or are sympathetic to the servant cause, unless you would like to play an antagonist. non-character antagonists such as the king and others can be played by anyone and will usually be used to provide consequences and conflict.

ii. if you are inactive for more than two weeks without notice, your character will be killed.

iii. while there may be some injury and fighting done purely through rp, no character should be killed without previous decision in the plotting thread.

iv. this takes place in a magical world and as such, your character can have some magical abilities if you would like. however, it is up to me to judge whether or not the abilities you choose are too overpowered.

v. while the main plot of the rp is the story of the servants fighting the king, subplots, internal drama, and romance are encouraged!

vi. no acts of bigotry will be allowed, and all minorities of characters are encouraged. the more diverse our cast of characters is, the better!
