  • She worried too much. It was almost as if she was like his mother. The thought alone made him cringe to himself. Mercy was a kind individual, and she meant well. He knew as much. Regardless of her intentions, he found it irritating that she pestered him with her concerns. He was perfectly capable of handling the task at hand. Though he had held such an event before, it was more suitable now for some reason. A relatively cool, humid breeze of summer wafted through the air, carrying a pleasant pine scent along with it. Sear preferred the night time. It was cooler, which made up for the blistering days, and there was more potential for sneaking around. He wasn't the best at stealth, given his abilities were explosive, loud and blatantly obvious. With a frown on his features, the creamy tom slithered through the territory, making sure there was no on nearby to witness his attempt at setting up the mini event. He dumped the fireworks on the ground before beginning the tedious task of setting them up. When they were all lined up in a row, he dashed away to gather blankets and pillows. He wouldn't have done this normally, but he supposed he was beginning to grow soft for these Veilers. They were pitiful creatures, but he supposed some level of comfort was needed to watch the display. He didn't, however, go through and collect food and drinks. It was a 'bring your own beer kind of event.'

"Anyone want to see some fireworks?" Sear called out in a rather harsh tone, tail lashing as he stood near his neatly laid row. He figured there would be people nearby, as there usually were in these circumstances. Events and gatherings like this one warranted people, even with him being present and hosting said event. Though he was an unpleasant person, he still tried for his group. He wanted to be the best that he could be, and if not for the people of the Veil, then himself and the group as a whole.

  • Fireworks. She had never seen fireworks before aside from the pictures she had seen in the books she was reading. It looked so pretty in this books and so she wondered if it was as pretty in real life as well?. Leesha wouldn't miss this opportunity to found that out so she padded up even if it was Sear how was holding this how could throw out any mean words at anytime if he so wanted to. She was trying to stay on his good side though even if she not completely could understand his behavior or why he was acting the way he did when it looked like now and then that he actually did care. It was confusing signals, ones the girl not understood about. Maybe she never would come to fully understand Sear though but as long he was her clanmate Leesha had no other choice to live with him which was why she was trying her best to not make him angry at her. " I have never seen any before." she would say, trying to start up some sort of conversation with him no matter how brief it might end up to be. " Do you like fireworks?." they then asked, slowly glancing over at the Midnightbringer to see if he would reply to her, or just ignoring her. The last one would hurt her a bit but...she had started to get used to that by now.

  • Maybe she was a worry wart. So what? Mercy just wanted her clanmates, her family, to be safe and lead good lives — including Sear. Was that such a sin? He was ever resistant when she tried to show any semblance of concern for him, and though it used to irritate her, these days it only made her want to care for him more; in the wake of his ordeal with the attempted drowning as well as the growth of his wings, which evidently weighed heavily on him, Mercy could only imagine how much he needed it. Especially now that Sunpaw had vanished; it often seemed like he was the only person who could ever get through to Sear.

The boy's tone was sharp, but the cushions and blankets he'd set up suggested that he cared for his clanmates more than he let on. Mercy approached with pricked ears and a little smile on her face as she took note of everything he'd put together. She turned it toward Leesha by way of greeting before returning her attention to the Midnightbringer. "I'm excited to see them," she commented, settling down on a nearby blanket. The fabric was soft and comfortable.

  • Leesha was one person who irked him, much like Sunpaw had in the beginning. She was a child with a mouth, and it bothered him that she often spoke back to him. What gave her the idea that she could do such a thing? Sear flicked an ear as his attention moved to her, crimson optics glaring slightly at her. They did not soften when she spoke to him, telling him of how she hadn't ever seen fireworks before. He gave a small shrug of his shoulders in acknowledgement before looking to his row of fireworks ready to be set off. He paused when she asked him if he liked them, to which he eventually nodded, albeit a bit hesitantly. "Yeah. They're bright and loud. Like my powers," he admitted to her with a lash of his tail, his head not moving but his eyes peering at her through his peripheral vision. When Mercy arrived, he merely greeted her with a grunt before settling back on his haunches.

"Time for the show," he said rather plainly, a cool tone to his usually biting, harsh voice. He lifted his paw and easily willed some explosions to rise, eventually lighting the fireworks. Immediately, one went off, followed by a few more. The sky was lit with multiple colors, blues, purples, pinks. The booms caused him to flatten his ears against his skull, but he still watched, the lights casting pretty reflections in his optics. Sear then moved on to the next set of fireworks, setting them off as he had done the first set.
