  • Abbi didn't have the confidence to teach a class about anything. He was adept in his powers, capable with hunting or fighting, but honestly that was about it. Even the topic he had decided to teach was odd. Gardening wasn't a favorite pass-time of his and, to be honest, he wasn't all that great at it. He only did the bare minimum plants and rarely gardened for fun. But, hell, maybe he would find a love for teaching this hobby rather than the hobby itself.

The young man had several small clay pots in front of him as well as different seeds for different plants. It would be a relatively quick lesson, but maybe he could make a game out of it too, "Anyone want to play a little game?" he called out, hood pulled off of his head while he waited for participants.

on the contrary, ismene is a bit of a gardening wiz. this is not to say that the cub has spent time cultivating an entire garden, for she moves far too often for something so stationary, but her deep interest in horticulture has compelled her to learn many things about raising plants. especially plants native to the area. ismene spends many hours in the day carefully sketching images of the plants, labeling them, and describing their preferred growing conditions, et cetera. aside from gazing upon the stars and building telescopes, recording native flora in her sketchbook is a special activity she does in every place she has lived. in a way, it contains a memory of her entire life up until this point.

suffice to say that ismene is quite interesting in whatever abbi is teaching, though she would have shown up even if it wasn't gardening. she thinks abbi is pretty cool, plus she loves to learn. it's a win-win. "i'll play," announces the child as she trots over and plops down in front. she offers the older male a warm smile before taking a moment to observe the supplies. "are we going to be planting?"

  • Mercy had once gardened fairly regularly; as PalisadeClan's doctor she'd been in charge of keeping the greenhouse in order for easy access to herbs. She'd been asked to start an actual garden during her time in the Cartel as well, and had tended to it regularly. Years had passed since then, however, and she hadn't done any such activity since; Mercy was fairly certain she'd lost her green thumb by now, but who knew? Maybe it would all come back to her once she got into it. And if not, at least she knew she'd enjoy it nonetheless. "Looks like it," she answered Ismene as she approached, curiously studying the pots and seeds Abbi had set up.

  • Even if the turnout was small, the young man was happy for any turnout at all. He nodded slightly to Ismene, meaning to answer her question before he noticed Mercy lingering nearby and doing so for him. He looked at the supplies he had thus far provided, "Yep. I'm hoping to make it a bit interesting," not to say that it wasn't. He took this time to give the two their own supplies - a pot, a small pile of mixed seeds, and a watering can not too much larger than the pot, "I figured we could make a competition out of this. See where the growth is in a month's time," he offered, divvying some supplies for himself, "The seeds are for several wildflowers, so I have to be honest when I say that I'm not too sure what they need to grow properly. But, I guess that's the fun part, yeah?"

the arrival of mercy distracts ismene momentarily. "hello, miss mercy," greets the child, offering the other shadowkeeper a wide grin. but izzy is quick to remember her manners, and promptly brings her attention back to abbi. she is quite intrigued by whatever is going on here. she eagerly receives her pot and seeds, tail flicking bath and forth with contained excitement. growing wildflowers? that seems like a lot of fun! "yes it's like a surprise," ismene agrees, thinking that it's more of a challenge to try and figure out what the plants like when you don't know what the plants are to begin with. "when do we start, mister abbi?"

  • Ismene seemed about ready to play along, and that seemed to be enough for the young shadowkeeper. He smiled at her enthusiasm, giving her a short nod, "You can plant them here and take them with you once your done, just to be sure everyone has a fair start," and also to give time so that more could possibly join in. The young boy tapped his paws on his own pot, looking over his supplies and starting with a simple smile, pouring some special, nutrient filled soil into it. He looked to both Mercy and Ismene briefly to see if either of them started as well.

  • Gardening? And a game? This was perhaps the most perfect event for a character such as Frenchmarquise, for the petite femme adored both activities for the reason that both kept her mind occupied, stimulated. Boredom was a tiresome thing. On silent paws, steps as delicate as spring buds, the svelte form of the Siamese cat approached the duo with enlightened facial features. "Why, count me in!" Frenchie could not help but purr happily, her words laced with a strong Southern accent. "What sort of wildflowers have we got sir?"
