  • Sitting at the edge of the nursery. Boredom crept into the feline just like it did any other day, five moons... five moons... one more until he was six and he could become and apprentice! He couldn't help but be excited for it, he'd finally begin to be able to serve his clan along with StarClan! He'd be the best apprentice, and one day warrior, that the clans have ever seen! He swore it! He'd uphold the warrior code and everything too! Though admittedly his passion for it was odd given that neither of his parents seemed to care so much about the warrior code. He wasn't sure of Butterflydawn but when Lambkit was talking to mom about it she told him not to worry about the code and how most of it was just common sense. Maybe... But you should listen to what StarClan had to say even if it was just common sense right? She spoke to him almost as if she didn't believe in them...

He turns his head to look at dad, maybe he could spark a conversation or something... "Mom once told me you used to be in ShadowClan?" He begins with a small tilt of his head. "Had you been there under Ratstar's reign? Sorrelstar's? Neither?" Lambkit didn't think it was odd that he knew the names of the current leader and the previous one. Hell... he was almost certain he knew what both looked like. It was odd but he didn't really question it to be honest, probably just heard it from someone. Yeah.

    Butterflydawn~

  • The warrior code... Starclan... Butterflydawn believed in both - but to varying degrees. Some things in the code felt old to him, things that could be made kinder, but, he wasn't one to question it.

Unless leaving your clan counted as questioning it.

And Starclan? Yes, he held a strong belief of their ancestors, but he'd hardly rule his life around them. They were just dead cats - they had no special powers over him. Free-will is true, he'd not offer it up so easily.

But, hey, why think about that so much?

He was in a position that made him happy - a nursery helper. And currently he was watching over his own little rambunctious kit. Lambkit was a sweetheart, he thought - though he thought that about all his kits. If him still calling Juni his little baby boy had any say.

Large ears perked as the little one began to speak, and Butterflydawn was soon nodding to confirm it.

    "I was."

For a moment he paused, wondering just where he'd gotten such information - but then he remembered, hey, your mate - his mother - is deputy. If she'd told the little one about him then perhaps she'd given a small history.

"No... I was gone before either of them came to power - a leader or so before them," he explained.

"You interested in your pa's boyhood?" he joked.

  • Cool! ShadowClan sounded like a nice clan so he couldn't help but wonder why his father had left it, maybe to be with mom? At least that way they weren't completely breaking the code which was good. Because mom was from SkyClan right? It confused him so much. Maybe he'd have to ask her one day but mom was seeming oddly closed off recently, he hoped she was alright. "Oh cool!" He chirps with a small smile, "ShadowClan is so cool! SkyClan is my favorite but ShadowClan is a close second. They seem so mysterious and they live in like- the marshes. I wish I could eat frogs and lizards all day, they look tasty." He says as he excitedly shuffles his paws on the ground and gives his body a small little shake, antsy. "Oh, fox-dung. I was kinda wanting to learn more about those two." Lamb then curses under his breath, probably loud enough for his father to hear but he heard mother say it so why couldn't he? He didn't even know it was a bad word to be honest.

"Oh yeah! Can you tell me about it? Please!"

  • Butterflydawn couldn't help but chuckle at his son's words - it was a bit odd saying you had an order for the clans you liked best. Briefly he though about how if Lav had a list Bloodclan would be right at the bottom in bold.

Perhaps something to keep in mind to tease her about at a later date. Butterflydawn was not above teasing the love of his life, as she knew.

"Haha... me too, kiddo - I think they're my top 2 too," ugh, that felt a lil weird to say. Too many to's! Or two's? bleh!

With a wistful sigh Butterflydawn thought back to the freshkill pile in Shadowclan. Frogs and lizards, some fat mice or stray birds... Sure he loved Skyclan, but nothing would beat a nice lizard.

He had to stop himself from drooling at the thought.

"Tell ya what, next time I see your Mother I'll ask her to catch us a lizard on her next hunting patrol," he promised.

His pelt prickled at his son's swear.

"Woah, woah, woah! Lambkit! Where'd you learn such words!? Those are very big no-no words! We don't say that!" he flustered. Where on earth had such a little one heard such foul things!?

Trying to keep himself on track the helper stumbled over his thoughts.

"Err, anything in particular you wanna know kiddo?"
