being alone was something that redpanda still wasn't used to, despite how he'd been wandering around for a while after his whole world was practically tossed upside-down. he never thought he would miss the other tigers he'd lived with, but he did- they might've been big, bumbling oafs who would just sit around all day, but at least they'd been good for a little bit of conversation and entertainment. bush, rock, and star- not their real names, of course, but the ones redpanda had given them.
another issue for redpanda: food. he had no clue how to hunt, not even after being on his own for a while. he'd always had the humans bringing him food, occasionally tossing him some treats after he'd been particularly good that day. but now he was surviving on whatever meat he could find. he even sometimes had to resort to munching on leaves from bushes, anything to keep him going. maybe he could find his way back home, get another lecture from star for accidentally trodding on his tail while star slept. but how long ago had he even woken up all alone, stuck on his own with no idea where he was?
when he finally glanced up after wandering around for a while, nose tilted towards the ground as he tried to find a trace of any scent that was remotely familiar, he saw something that made his jaw drop. it was a series of what looked like islands, all floating in the air. each was connected to the next by a bridge, redpanda's eyes studying the layout of the floating islands. it almost reminded him of something the humans might build, except nothing they made would float like that. and so high in the air, too!
in his wonder, redpanda's paws had ceased their walking, the tiger instead sitting back and staring up at the islands with awe. he didn't know where he was, didn't know what time it was, and didn't know if there were any other living souls to be found.. but at least there was some cool architecture.
