  • Garvel shifted and crunched under black combat boots as Zero, the leader of the Phantom Brotherhood moved across the ground at a swift pace. Urgency radiated off of him, though his face stayed in a stony expression. His hands gloved hands were clenched and he ground his teeth together, while fury blazed in his dark chocolate gaze.

Men and women around him scrambled out of his way and sight. No one wanted to be the unlucky one to cross a furious Zero. The last time that happened not only did that unlucky soul get kicked from the Brotherhood but she also ended up with a concussion, two broken ribs, and some internal bleeding. That was all before Ace stepped in and stopped his brother from killing her… reluctantly.

Arriving at his destination, which was the gun range where Ace was Zero approached silently. Dark gaze watching as his brother fired off shot after shot, always hitting his intended target- the head.

“You look more pissy than usual,” Ace commented, voice cheerful and eyes glinting with curiosity.

Zero snorted, before half-heartedly glaring at his twin. ”How are the new recruits doing?" he drawled, lips pressed together. For the first time in five years the twins agreed on letting two newbies in, for training at least. Whether they passed or not was up to them.

  • The Italian male's face was twisted into one of focus. His cold eyes were narrowed as he held a gun in his hand, pointed at the target. Sure, knowing about the human body was helpful and all, but if one did not know how to aim, then how good could he really be? He took a deep breath and held it, pulling the trigger a few times. Each time the bullet it, it still was fairly far off from where he wanted it to be. He grit his teeth and frowned, letting out a strangled groan. He shot again, this time out of sheer anger. Though, he was pleasantly surprised to find he was closer that time. He let out a huff and set the gun down, leaning back a bit. He needed a break, but he knew that wasn't an option. He wanted to be part of one of the most notorious gangs around, and they didn't pick just anyone to walk alongside them. He knew that he would have to be really outstanding to catch their eye. Hand-to-hand combat was something he was better at, but he recognized that he would have to get good at shooting as well.

He was one of two new recruits and he knew that if he wanted in, he would have to show the other one up. He turned his head to the side, watching as the leader of the gang strode in. He looked to be in a bad mood, so Dante kept his distance. He clenched his fists slightly and picked up the gun once more. He couldn't screw around any longer. He took a deep breath in, held it, then released it again. He looked where he was aiming and shot a few times. He was glad to see that it wasn't as bad as before and he smirked to himself, feeling proud. He put down the gun once more and reached back, letting his medium length hair down for a moment. He retied it into a short ponytail and wiped some of the sweat off his forehead. The work and training was proving to be rather difficult, but Dante knew that it would be worth it in the end. He had never wanted something more. He knew he could be of use to the twins and he wanted that chance to prove himself and his skills. Now that he was being given that chance, he wasn't going to let anybody take that away from him, even if it meant he had to completely show off. He was prepared to do just about anything they asked of him at that time.

    [ Dante ]

  • Ace paused, taking a moment to really think that question over. He'd been the one observing the newest recruits for the last few days, while his brother was at the meeting. Normally each took a shift with one watching for an hour and the other taking care of other matters. The last few days watching them Ace found himself glad that they allowed these two to go through the trails set to join the Phantom Brotherhood. So far neither have disappointed the twins reluctant decision to test them. But…

“Dante, he’s good. Incredible in some aspects however, his work with a gun could use some work,” Ace murmured, frowning faintly. That man had a lot of untapped talent but, if he couldn’t pass the tests others did then he’d have to look somewhere else and Ace honestly didn’t think that talent would be able to blossom outside of here. Not as well anyway.

Phantom Brotherhood was the second best gang out there, with the twins aiming for the very top and close to getting it. In just a few days time the gang leaders would gather and a fight would pursue, to be the ‘king’ of the gangs. Zero had every intention of winning that. Of course, using your supernatural abilities was against the rules.

Zero hummed and nodded slightly. Dark eyes roaming around until they landed on Dante. “You are right. Normally we don’t help the trainees however, both men are very talented and could be of great use for us,” he murmured, with a frown. As a leader of the Phantom Brotherhood he put his gang, his dysfunctional family, first. “Come on,” he said to his twin before leading the way to Dante.

“Dante, we’ve decided to give you and Jenson some help in your weaker points. Being that so far you are in the lead you get to pick which one of us will help you,” Zero informed him, motioning over Jenson who was practicing loading his gun as fast and smoothly as possible.

  • Dante wanted to say that he was too focused on what he was doing to notice the two twins walk over to him. That wasn’t true. He had watched them from the corner of his eye as they made their way over. Of course, they were powerful and intimidating, so it made him feel a bit better to know where they were. It also gave him the chance to attempt to show off. When they were at a close distance, he put the gun down and turned to face them, nodding in greeting. He knew he was in competition with the other recruit and he intended on showing him up. He just nodded when Zero offered to help them with their weak points. That was certainly a shock, but he didn’t want to show it on his face in fear of looking disrespectful. His eyes did widen however when he was told that he was in the lead. It was a pleasant surprise. He was sure that his poor gun work would put him at the bottom. His eyes glanced between the two of them. He didn’t know either of them extremely well yet, but he supposed that would come in time. At the moment, he figured that training with Zero would give him the biggest advantage in this particular area. If he got on the leader’s good side, it would be beneficial in the future. He nodded in his direction. “I’d love for you to teach me what you can,” he said to him. He didn’t know why he was starting to feel nervous. He didn’t want to risk messing up in front of him. He bit down on the inside of his cheek, grabbing the gun he set down. He knew that was his biggest weakness at the moment and he would most definitely need to work on it.

  • Zero's chocolate gaze glinted and he nodded, a smirk which could only be described as 'evil' spread across his lips. "Love to, huh?" he drawled, tone laced with dark mirth. Gaze roamed to his twin- who was shaking his head looking almost sorry for Dante, and he nodded. "You heard the man. I'll be his mentor from now on. You go help Jenson with his issues in manipulation. I swear if I see that annoying tick of his again while lying I'll shot him," he said, with complete sincerity. Having a weakness was one thing, having a blatant tick... that truly pissed him off.

Shaking his head at his brother's obvious glee, Ace held up his hands in mocking surrender before looking at Dante. "Listen, if our dear leader gets too bad come to me. I'd rather not have to bury your body," he grunted. Though his own curiosity as to how this would end did peak through his words some. With a elegant bow he sent his brother a challenging look. "I'll have my guy beat yours undoubtedly, dear Zero. Good luck, you'll need it," he declared before turning and sauntering away.

With a hum, Zero fully faced his new victim- erm, apprentice. "That gun. How does it feel? Balanced?" he questioned, arching an eyebrow.

  • Dante felt a shiver pass through his body at the dark tone which his leader spoke in. He didn't show any indication that he was nervous though. He managed to keep a rather straight face. Though, at the words that Ace spoke, he smiled a bit and nodded. He didn't know if would come to that and he didn't want it to seem like he was running away. He knew Zero could be tough and somewhat cruel, but he was going to be his leader. He had to learn to trust him. He could tell that a competition was brewing and he smirked slightly. Now that gave him an incentive to really show the other recruit up. He watched Ace and the other leave before looking at Zero again. Upon his question, he held the gun in his hand again. He nodded a bit before looking at him. "Yes... I do believe it does..." he said, pointing it at the target but not shooting. It felt right in his hands as far as he knew. He just hoped that Zero would catch what exactly he was doing wrong and help him... though he wasn't quite sure how that would go. After all, he could feel a bead of sweat running down his forehead. The pressure was one. He thought to himself whether he made the right choice in asking Zero for help. He knew that it would be very difficult to impress him and if he failed to do so, there would be trouble. He swallowed some of the saliva that had started to pool in his mouth, hoping it wasn't too obvious how unnerved he was at that very moment.

He looked back to his leader, waiting on further instructions. He didn't want to jump ahead and do anything yet. He felt his hands get slightly sweaty and he wanted more than anything to wipe them on his jacket, but he knew that would make it rather obvious. He mentally slapped himself for getting so worked up over this and he once again bit his cheek hard enough to draw some blood. He took a short breath and refocused himself, not letting his nerves get the best of him. He wanted to be a gangster for God's sake. He couldn't be weak like this in battle. So, he wasn't going to be weak then and there. He pushed his fears aside and was ready to follow orders.

    [ Dante ]

  • Zero was completely silent, his face a mask of indifference. He knew nervousness and was impressed at how well Dante held his inward, doing his hardest to not let it blur his focus. Good. It needed a bit of work of course, if he wanted a high rank in the gang in the future but for now it was good enough. The leader's mind went over all he had see and heard of Citarella these past few weeks. So far he was making a good impression on the other members but, that was not even half the battle when in a gang like his.

"Have you ever shot anyone? Fatally or otherwise?" Zero suddenly asked, narrowing his gaze at Dante. The man couldn't recall if he heard whether Dante had actually used a gun against someone. Fist fighting yes, but not a gun. If not... that would need to change and quickly. "Also, what is your ability? Your... supernatural one, that is?" Zero added after a moment pause. Very few people knew of the true extent of Zero's ability. They knew that he was able to see a person's death but, they did not know about the pain that is project through his own body or that of the person he was touching at the moment. Which meant they definitely did not know about his weakness.
