    name: hyeon, yuna.

title: princess of kyoumei; magnolia flower maiden. sometimes she's referred to with her last name by underlings.

    age: twenty-four.

    gender: dfab, identifies as such.

sexuality: homoromantic/homosexual; is fine with anyone feminine presenting though.

    reference: x.

appearance: vivid violet eyes beneath naturally long eyelashes are often the first to grasp viewers' attention. yuna's eyes contrast greatly to the rest of her lighter features, more so her skin, which is almost reminiscent of porcelain. it is pale and unmarred, save for the simple outline of a rhombus shaped tattoo on her left ankle. her hair is long and thick, ending at her mid-back. it is somewhat wavy and a silvery white in hue. years of utilizing expensive products has made it silky to the touch. yuna exhibits a height that's slightly taller than average, standing at about 5'8". however, she might seem taller, as her shoes often tend to boost her height. a few days before bloom, her hair gradually acquires a soft pink tinge, similar to the appearance of the chinese magnolia. during bloom, magnolia tattoos (slightly like this) start sprouting from the edge of the rhombus and wrap around her body, more specifically the left leg, abdomen, and chest. usually, the tattoos don't go past the shoulders or neck. once bloom ends, the flowers wither away and her hair returns to its original colour.

in the eyes of the public, yuna is usually adorned with the finest of silks, the most expensive of garbs. thus, for the sake of discretion on her travels, she prefers to wear the opposite of her general style. while she's usually seen in flowy fabrics and her hair masterfully done in an assortment of styles, she now wears slightly more tight-fitting clothes and leaves her hair out. i'm tired so i'm not going to describe it, but it's something like this, but a pink shade replacing the red.

    personality traits:

❀ quite calm, it's difficult to make her upset, although there are a few things here and there that quickly set her off

❀ for instance, she can sometimes be quick to anger if you belittle her right in front of her

❀ fairly chipper and tries to keep a mostly positive attitude

❀ at the same time though, she's realistic and practical and wouldn't be falsely optimistic

❀ a little bit scheming. she often does have little ideas and thoughts running through her head, though they're not necessarily malicious

❀ mature, but does have a sense of adventure and likes using the opportunities she has to have a bit of fun and relax

❀ secretive, not necessarily on purpose but when it comes to certain things such as family secrets and other things of that nature

❀ enjoys teasing those she's comfortable with

❀ would be willing to make questionable sacrifices if it meant achieving a certain goal

❀ passionate, isn't one who's quick to give up very easily; also makes her quite stubborn

❀ confident in herself and others

    headcanons:

❀ as a flower maiden, she naturally gives off the scent of magnolia. they smell sweet, but slightly of lemon.

❀ speaking of sweet stuff, yuna has a big sweet tooth and often enjoys trying pastries and other desserts

❀ while they're traveling, she's probably going to have an almost childlike excitement for certain things, considering she hasn't experienced stuff some would find mundane

❀ that person who would buy useless things just because she finds them cute

❀ also that person who would shower someone with gifts just because she feels like it

❀ has a resting face that's honestly kinda intimidating, but when you speak to her she's usually pretty kind

❀ that being said, when she is pissed off by something she gets hella scary

❀ has a soft spot for animals, especially felines

❀ i haven't decided much on her history, but i might add in some sort of family drama!! like, perhaps some bad rumors about the royals (including herself) that may actually be true and stuff like that

❀ more to be added later, i'm tired

  • Jasmine Kirishima - Kyoumei Bodyguard

    name: Jasmine Kirishima

title: Kyoumei Bodyguard; Often referred to by either of her names or "Jas" by her closer friends.

    age: twenty-two

    gender: cisgender female

    sexuality: homoromantic/homosexual

    favorite color: blue

appearance: Jasmine is used to wearing her royal garb, dressed head to toe with a flowery vibrancy to her look. Her attire covered every part of her body, aside from her collarbone, upward. Her violet eyes and frequent smile were some of the things she enjoyed about herself, her long hair not being one of them. With hair that grew faster than she'd liked, she seldom let it grow out for very long, and instead, kept it short enough to her liking. She was always one to follow the rules that were given to her as she was around the higher-ups of the kingdom. She knew where her place lied and she followed everything she was told. Although she was used to wearing her garb, she was never truly fond of it. As soon as she was able, she would always strip out of her clothing and wear something more fitting to herself. She always wore baggier looking shirts and sweaters that always hung off of her in some way and always looked a size too big. She wasn't always ready for fighting and so, she didn't take too much care into flexibility when she didn't need it. However, she always wore a tank top beneath her wear in case she would need to strip her clothing to something that wouldn't get in her way so easily. Her pants and shorts are more tight-fitted than her shirts, knowing it's not as easy to just strip pants off as if they were nothing.

personality: Jasmine is more of the eccentric type. She shies away from trends and wears what she wants. She acts more carefree than the next person and treats other people as she wants to. The grin on her face comes from the enjoyment she gets from herself and from others, trying to always stay in a good mood, even if it wasn't positively obtained. She is a rule-follower when she needs to be, but can be a handful when she's not. She can be very selfish at times and likes to hide her emotions, knowing her own weakness to such. She likes to have things go her way and hates when she can do nothing about something she cares for. She is a leader and a go-getter when she needs to be and a strange girl when she doesn't. If she sets her heart to something, she will do anything in her power to try and get it. She can be inviting to others but those around her are subject to her random comments and teasing that she makes on a regular basis. A lot of people see her as a tomboy because of her hair and clothing and she doesn't deny as such but doesn't agree with it either. She only worked towards her bodyguard position to be in a place where she was able to act if necessary.

    quirks:

-Doesn't shame her body. She isn't embarrassed to take off an article of clothing if asked, though she won't get naked

-Loves to snack on things, even if it's her own fingernails

-Quick-witted and will pick up on things easily, even if she seems as though she is not paying attention

-Loves to find new information, some of which, she isn't supposed to know

-Tends to lie about her emotions to make herself seem less interested than she actually is. Sometimes it helps her get what she wants

-Sometimes will act sarcastic or mess with others just to see their reactions

  • The heart of Moonlight Garden was an area free from the wandering glances of commoners. Like the treasure it was, it had been hidden away behind the walls of the palace, leaving its existence to be perceived as myth by peasants, and a sanctuary for those granted access within. The perception of the peasants was not incorrect, for the garden indeed resembled something from a fairy tale. The strong, almost sickeningly sweet fragrance associated with flowers was the first to hit the senses of any viewer who entered. Perhaps if it was day, there would've been the mellow songs of chirping birds, however it was instead replaced with the persistent tune of crickets. Some would've argued that its beauty reigned at dawn, when the sky gleamed orange over the vibrant rosy hues of the flora, but Yuna came to believe that the garden received its name appropriately.

The only sound to break the monotony was the noise of heels clicking against stone steps, until Yuna stopped to stand on the path leading further into Moonlight Garden. Tilting her head up, she could see a dark canvas of black encompassing the sky. A myriad of stars blanketed above, yet none of their light seemed to filter low enough to create a difference. Instead, all the illumination came from the moon, which hung round and brilliant in the otherwise inky sky. The moon was a loyal companion — it was always present, watching over even the darkest of nights, changing forever just as the nature of humans. Yuna was silhouetted against it as she headed down the winding path. The breeze gently rolled, swaying her long locks of silvery hair and carrying petals in its wake. They danced in the air with the wind as its partner, until the pink petals gave in and slowly fluttered onto the blades of grass below.

Within a few minutes of walking, Yuna could see the pavilion — the designated place of meeting — which overlooked a serene lake near the center of the garden. Lily pads and lotuses rested at the surface, moving along with the gentle ripples. A few stray petals had fallen into the depths of the water. The dazzling night sky reflected off the lake as if it was a mirror. Yuna found the corners of her lips tugging into a slight smile at the sight. Moonlight Garden possessed beauty as an ever-present season. There was no other place where the magnolias blossomed so pure upon the Earth, where the wind played melodies like the softest of lullabies. It was truly unmatched by the likes of others — and it was all hers.

With the shake of her head, Yuna cast her gaze away from the scenery and resumed her steps to the pavilion. Soon enough, she stood underneath its protective shade, where her violet eyes locked onto an awaiting figure. For a moment, she stared at the individual with an unchanging expression, before her lips finally parted to speak. "You must be the bodyguard, no?"

  • Jasmine Kirishima - Kyoumei Bodyguard

At last, she had finally made it. The pinnacle of trust and the proof of skill that led her straight to this moment. Jasmine wore a small smile on her face as she traversed through to her location, wondering how her job would go. There was no need for her to have gotten to this particular position aside from her own goals. She would get stronger. Strong enough to protect who she wanted, when she wanted, and problems wouldn't go unnoticed. She had progressed more swimmingly than she had once thought it would be, achieving the job that she could only dream of. Protecting the maiden.

Jasmine was more of a selfish type of creature, not seeing her as one for protecting others and yet she wholeheartedly accepted this offer. This would only prove that she was efficient and coherent enough in her magic to be trusted with such a task. She couldn't wait to guard royalty as though she were the strongest of the pack. The simple thought of it made her giddy inside, and yet her body was composed of a steel wall. There was no emotion she was going to let surface unless she wanted to, most of which containing a false thought. It was all to protect her image and sanctity of her thoughts and mind. She didn't want to portray weakness to herself like other women. Instead she was a tactically-laid trap, someone who didn't always show her true emotions and loved to pick out those of others.

She tapped her delicate-masqueraded fingers along the wooden edge of the pavilion, looking off towards the rest of the garden. Moonlight Garden. As elegant as though it were just a fairytale. The sight could bury one's head in wonder. Jasmine could tell that the little girl inside of her was amazed by the sight, her tiny eyes widened with joy. This was the work of a legend. This was what dreams looked like in real life. And yet, on the outer surface, her eyes still laid faint with content, the same smile still plastered to her face. There was nothing to her but an ever-present smirk and a mouthful of things to come. She took in a breath of the heavenly aroma, a scent that she wanted to savor.

Her light drumming of fingers stopped suddenly, her ears catching a soft sound traversing toward her. Jasmine wanted her smile to grow. She wanted to acknowledge the presence of a maiden with glee but it wasn't who she was. She would prove otherwise. And as such, she awaited for the footsteps to draw closer. Close enough for the silence to break between voices and an exchange of conversation. Not many were able to speak with such royalty in their lifetime, and she was going to be by her side for quite a while. There was no doubt she was internally eager to see where the encounter led.

She heard the woman speak, a voice of pristine and precise wording that was used a hundred times in the past for matters far greater than Jasmine's. The girl allowed herself to turn around, a calm and relaxed face settling on her features as her hands rested behind her back. She raised one hand gracefully to her chest as she allowed for a bow. "Yes, that would be me," her head perked from her position first before her body followed to a standing state. "And you must be the maiden I've heard so much about. Just as pretty as they say," she worded, however polite. She needed to test her waters first. She wasn't going to lose the job the second she received it, and so she would tread lightly. She wanted to know all about her. "My name is Jasmine Kirishima. May I have the pleasure of knowing yours?"

  • Once she straightened herself up from the bow, Yuna made no effort to conceal the fact that she was most definitely looking the female up and down. Not even for second did her gaze shift from the unknown woman, as if she was a raptor meticulously eyeing its prey. The individual, who she now recognized as Jasmine after her courteous introduction, was not quite someone who stirred her memory. In the sea of servants she retained, it was difficult to remember every face, every name, despite Yuna attempting her best. The woman in front of her wore garbs fitting for those of her occupation, which she supposed was no surprise. She stood at a height that appeared not too far from her own, if Yuna was willing to take the time to kick off her shoes. Her hair was chopped short but neatly framed her face. The colour of the locks were quite interesting; they reminded her much of a drifting cloud during a rainy day. The maiden's observing finally came to a stop when her gaze rested on the bodyguard's eyes, which were like the hue of rich amethysts.

Kirishima. Did that name ring a bell? It wasn't unusual for guards to follow in the footsteps of their family, as if their surname fated them to serve for the royals the remainder of their life. Not that it was a bad thing, Yuna liked to think. She, along with the rest of the Kyoumei royals, ensured that servants were treated equitably. Still, certain individuals preferred the freedom of pursuing their passion, which Yuna considered understandable. It was illogical to tie down a bird who wished to soar. Regardless, her mind was drawing a complete blank on this woman's name, which was actually rather unusual. She possessed a youthful appearance, despite her high status as a personal guard. Surely, she would've been told of someone so young making their way up the ranks so successfully? Instead, she was like a phantom to Yuna — present, but invisible, at least until now it seemed. Perhaps the guard wasn't aware of it herself, but she managed to pique Yuna's interest, purely for existing.

For the first time in front of Jasmine, a sweet smile came to the older woman's features. "I am Princess Yuna Hyeon, flower maiden of Kyoumei. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." The words easily rolled off her tongue, for it was an introduction she commonly used in the presence of others. Subconsciously, her forearms moved behind her back. It was proper stance,as her mother likely would've called it. Her stare finally snapped away from Jasmine when her attention was grasped by the sudden motion of a single petal drifting in the air behind her. Only after it was out of her line of sight did Yuna glance back at the bodyguard, this time her head beginning to tilt slightly. "I must say, I'm quite intrigued that someone of your stature would be sent for a task like this, but I suppose that's no matter."

Now, she was in no way trying to belittle the woman already, but there was nothing worse than a bodyguard biting off more than they could chew. Although Yuna presented herself in a self-assured nature, she wasn't completely blind to her own flaws. Outside of bloom, she was a susceptible target, so she required a guard who could do their job. It was the one task they had, so failure to do so was simply pathetic. "I entrust that my adviser, along with you, aren't overestimating your own caliber." A smile remained on her face, although there was something about it that was oddly intimidating. Perhaps Yuna was quick to spew harsh words, like a snake spitting venom, especially when she knew nothing of Jasmine's talents. However, she couldn't afford taking risks with the major threat of assassination.

A small, yet pleasant sigh escaped from the maiden's lips. "Now then, I'm sure you've been told that we will bestow you with anything you need as you accompany me. By any chance, do you have any requests?"

  • Jasmine Kirishima - Kyoumei Bodyguard

The question hung in the air for a moment as she stared unmoving at the woman before her. Of course, she knew what her name was, but there was no harm in formalities. There was something about her voice that was symphonic, as though she could talk for ages and still sound formal and articulate. There wasn't a doubt in her mind that she was any less than what everyone said about her. From her attire to her smooth voice and glistening violet irises. The same smile still rested effortlessly on her features as she listened to the girl speak. There was no wavering in her voice, no stutter, no mumble, just the exact answer she was looking for.

Jasmine didn't falter as she was spoken less about, watching the moves of the princess to see if she was able to read her mind. She had only needed to look the part of a polite guard but that didn't mean her intentions were the same. Maybe there was something to the princess that no one knew about. With her as close to the princess from now on, she would be able to see every side of her and what she did even on her free time. Jas could at least start with trying to get a look inside of her from every direction she could and find a person's true colors from their facial expressions and body language. She could only know so well what each one meant because she was so attuned to purging her own body from such antics. There was nothing wrong with being a little curious if it didn't hurt anyone. And no one needed to know about her.

The guard's hands were still relaxed behind her as her head tilted downward into a nod, a simple gesture in response to her belittlement. "Please, do not underestimate my ability, princess. I can assure you, I am more than capable for the task you desire," she spoke up after the question, feeling as though it was terms for a response. You damn well bet I can get rid of anyone who gets in my way, her voice casually spoke in her head, her features showing nothing but the same relaxed smile since the beginning. She wasn't surprised by the lack of trust in her ability. Jas had frequently gotten talked down towards amongst her colleagues until she had gotten fed up and shut them up. She would've like to have gotten rid of them permanently but that would've looked bad for her own case. She wasn't a frequent killer and she didn't think about killing others. She simply wanted to make sure people were out of commission or even incapacitated. She didn't always take kindly to belittlement of her prowess.

Jasmine gave a shake of her head at the final question gifted to her. She knew she needed time to figure things out. This was only the beginning of what she wanted. With royalty around, she knew that later, she could get something she really wanted. "I do not have any requests. I only wish to server you, princess," she spoke aloud in response. As long as I'm a bodyguard for you, those bitches will come straight to me. I just need time. "Are there any other questions you may have for me?" she asked. She could tell how excited she was on the inside to have come this far. Almost so much that she could taste it. As much as she had admired the princesses when she was younger, she had gone a long way since then. She needed more than just admiration. Sorry, yuna, but I'm gonna need you to just continue being a magnet.

  • This time when the princess smiled, the look behind her vivid eyes was one of amusement rather than a passive scare tactic. The fact that the bodyguard's voice had remained as fluid as before, without a hint of a waver or stutter, was something that Yuna appreciated. It was truly disappointing, watching people's ego shatter like glass from the strike of doubtful words coming from her mouth. It was almost frightening how some people treated her words as if they were an unquestionable law, simply because of her status as a maiden. She was a human, albeit a special one, which still ranked her far from a deity. Her actions were not meant to be worshiped by commoners, and sometimes she spoke far from the truth. She much preferred having a companion willing to challenge her claims rather than one who mindlessly sacrificed their own honour to concur with her opinions. If she wanted an obedient dog, willing to follow her with every beckon, Yuna simply would've asked someone to bark.

"My, what confidence. Let's hope that doesn't falter." She couldn't help but add yet another challenging statement into the air. She liked keeping her guards on their toes, having them know that she wouldn't be so forgiving if they disappointed her. Although, she supposed if her guards truly failed, it was impossible for a corpse to be merciful. With the same amused expression on her face, Yuna glanced down into the woman's violet eyes while gently humming a single soft note to herself. They said that such were windows to the soul, yet the maiden couldn't quite see anything past resolve. The expression, the look in her eyes had yet to be changed, as if she was purposely locking her emotions into unattainable chambers. She wondered, what could this young lady possibly be thinking? Perchance Yuna would figure out soon enough, as the bodyguard wasn't the only one to possess strong determination.

At first, she shook her head as a simple response to Jasmine's question. "No. I don't believe I have any questions I'd like to ask you as of now." There were things about the woman that intrigued her, but something was telling Yuna that her curiosities were better off left satiated with time. "I suppose this leaves a good opportunity to discuss the plan. As you should know, we leave tonight." Some found midnight to be the most dangerous, for it was the time thieves and bandits roamed the streets, but Yuna thought otherwise. However, that was more so because of her status as royalty — a civilian's perspective would obviously differ. During the day, crowds bustled throughout the streets of the city, and she easily would've been recognized, even without the expensive silks and jewelry she usually adorned in the public's eye. She simply didn't have the time to allow her own people to hinder her travels. Sneaking throughout the depths of the night, at least at the beginning of their journey, was the wisest option if they were trying to remain discreet.

Slowly, her hands that were formerly behind her back moved forward to cross underneath her chest. "Unless you figure it's unwise to leave now?" Once again, her words had come off as challenging, however Yuna hadn't purposely intended that tone this time. If something was going wrong beyond the walls of the palace, the royalty would've been the first informed. Nothing of that sort happened, so the flower maiden could safely assume that this night was just like any other. "If there's anything you wish to do before we leave the palace, I suggest you get it done, as we won't be stepping foot here again for a while."

  • Jasmine Kirishima - Kyoumei Bodyguard

Jasmine's expression had changed slightly, only to show a slight promise towards her compliment in confidence. It was simply a nice gest to make towards the princess and something to get a bit on her good side. Besides, the more she got on her good side now, the more she could get away with later on. She just needed to keep acting polite. Ha! Falter? Like that'll ever happen. she boasted in her head, though acting appreciative nonetheless in her features. There was to be no hint of anything that occurred in her mind. She'd spent too many hours trying to drill this into her mind. She wasn't going to break it here.

She gave another tilt of her head again to nod in approval at Yuna's statement. It was so easy to just nod or shake her head. But she also knew that she wouldn't be able to keep up the professional act forever. The time she was home was the times she let it all go. However, she wouldn't be alone again with the maiden by her side. Maybe Jas could keep it up longer than she thought to. She'd done it for years, in fact. And her expression still proved such through the following response from the girl across from her. Oh, honey, the night is the perfect time that I wanna go out she thought. However, her lips carried different concerns. "If you deem night to provide the safest journey, then I shall take your word," she said, acting as though she were more concerned for it being a safer time.

Jas wanted to smile. Wider. She knew she was getting exactly what she wanted right in the beginning. It was much easier than she would have hoped it to be. Unwise? It's wise for me but unwise if you don't want to run into anyone. I just want them dead. The less that live to harm the kingdom, the absolute better. "It is your choice, princess. I will follow wherever you lead me, shall it be day or night," she said with an unchanged expression. She knew once terms were agreed on, she would be able to be more loose in less fear of no longer being her bodyguard. She could only question if it would be so easy for her to relax in the presence of royalty but she was sure she would find a way. She just needed a better way to secure her position.

Only then did she hatch something inside of her head. Something she could so easily use against the princess. Jas simply loved magic. "Yes, of course, I shall be ready to leave," Jasmine took a single step forward as her arm bent at the elbow, her hand pointing upwards as a small stack of papers began to manifest itself into it. One second. Jas internally scorned herself for not being faster on such a small object. Her forearm lowered the papers in front of her, lines of text written neatly across the page. "This simply states that for as long as you are not in bloom, I shall guard you and make sure no harm will fall upon you. Should you bloom, you are deemed capable to defend yourself but may request me, should you still feel uncomfortable. It is simply a legal documents that refers to me as your bodyguard, should any unforeseen events occur where it is needed," she stated as she held the small stack in front of her. Her opposing hand moved from behind her back, lifting besides the paper as a quill pen manifested within her hand. Point-four seconds. Simple teleportation from where she had left these things before. Once signed, they would be teleported right back. They were such small objects, after all. The lighter the object and shorter the distance, the less effort it took.

She bore the same calming, professional look upon her features as she looked upon the princess. There was nothing wrong with signing a document, right? But if she signed so, firing her would be against her word and the contract and she would need to go through a lot of turmoil to remove the binds of the contract. This would simply let Jasmine do what she wanted: protect her while being herself without fear of being let off. Was it so bad to act herself? The contract said that she would be protecting her so Yuna didn't need to fear for her life. If she wanted space, Jas would give her space, it was as simple as that. She just knew she might've needed something a little more solidifying than a piece of paper to make her keep her job.

ooc: I also had it so that when she's out of bloom, she doesn't need to protect her if yuna doesn't want to, which kinda goes on the idea of jas protecting her at a time when she doesn't need to

  • As if an interesting comment had been spoken, one of the royal's eyebrows slowly began to quirk upward. She had mentioned, at least in her mind, that an obedient hound, willing to comply with whatever suggestions or orders commanded, was the least of what Yuna was looking for. Perhaps she would've gotten a similar impression from Jasmine, if it wasn't for the expression laying on her face from the very beginning remained. Positively, there was something, definitely something running through that girl's mind. Servants were trained to be complaisant, but that didn't require restraining any emotions or forcing a smile. Yuna only felt that it was correct to be mildly suspicious, for it was impossible for someone to be so void of notion. She wanted to crack through that unfazed wall of hers and see what she was so desperately hiding.

There was the sound of her heel pressing against the wooden floorboards as she stepped forward, so simple yet so authoritative. Aside from the gentle chorus of nature, the only noise came from the princess's slow footsteps, which circled around the bodyguard. Even when she was out of sight, it was likely that she could feel Yuna's gaze burning into her back. Soon, she found herself standing back in front of Jasmine, however she didn't speak a single word. Instead, the maiden leaned forward almost uncomfortably close, the smile on her face seeming a bit sinister in comparison to before. "What are you? A puppet to be pulled at the strings? Have you got no mind of your own?" Her voice dropped as she spoke, a purposely provoking edge to her tone. "Are you too wooden for emotions? Be too obedient, and I'll have you swaying into an ill fate."

It was only then that she backed away from the younger girl, her attention averting to the small stack of papers and the quill clasped between her fingers. How professional. Yuna took the documents from Jasmine's grasp, immediately taking brief moments after to step into the light of the full moon. She was not the type of person to blindly sign things — she would not let herself fall into a ploy that could've easily been avoided by skimming through a few papers. Magic contracts especially were an auspicious, yet dangerous agreement. Although she never signed or enforced one herself, Yuna heard tales of how abominable they could be — of how their magical prowess could enforce an individual to conform to the contract against their will. Soon enough, she came to the last page, her violet eyes stopping at the thin line at the bottom. There was nothing overtly concerning in its contents, so without hesitating any longer, she lifted the quill and signed the paper.

The documents were handed back to Jasmine, the very last being the one at the top. Her name, signed in very fancy lettering, rested on the line. During her childhood, her mother had always went on about how penmanship was a significant skill for royals to have. Slowly, a smile began to creep back onto her features. "Is this the only thing you require me to sign?" Reading through papers was not a laborious task. Yuna only wished to knock simple necessities out of the way before heading to their next destination.

  • Jasmine Kirishima - Kyoumei Bodyguard

Jasmine could see the princess's changing expressions. She could see the difference from one second to another whether it was doubt, professionalism, or just a relaxed demeanor. She wanted to see more. She knew the contract wasn't anything mischievous, unless she'd count wrongdoing as being unable to be fired so easily. Just a simple signature was all that was needed and as she took the paper from her, she knew she was getting somewhere.

Just sign the damn thing and we can stop this whole formal crap. she stood, watching the girl in front of her read through the pages in the moonlight. The contract didn't hold anything that was deemed wrong, but what it withheld was something that she so desperately needed. It was harder to catch on to something that wasn't there to begin with. It was like signing a contract that bound you to the person until the writer of the contract saw it to be unnecessary to continue forward. A loyal bodyguard for royalty will be quite fun. I'll make it fun. she hummed within her thoughts, paying attention to the pen scribbling across the page on the designated line. That was all she needed.

Jasmine grasped the papers gently between her fingertips, taking the contract from her as she looked over the signature on the page. It was unmistakably that of princess Yuna. Maybe I should take it at least a little slow first. She is the princess after all. "Well, aren't you just a ball of sunshine," she spoke calmly as the papers dissipated from her hand, back to its original resting place. Tone it down. she scolded as the objects left her hands empty, again putting them behind her back in a professional manner. "Thank you, princess," she acted more formally. Just a little should do it. Even just to see the reaction of a person, a princess, would've been so many golden opportunities.

She let out a soft sigh from her lips as if rethinking the earlier question. "I can assure you that I am no puppet, and that I do have my own mind," she responded with little hesitation between her actions. "And no, I do not need any more autograph." She internally laughed to herself. Autographs. She needed not to crack her expression into the humor of her mind. Instead, she wavered her features slightly, showing that her face was capable of moving rather than staying in the same position, but still polite, nonetheless.

  • It was only for a split second that shock registered in her expression, mostly from the slight widening of her violet eyes, before it completely vanished. As a royal, she was trained to sustain a nonchalant composure, to hide necessary feelings within — this was no different. A little ray of sunshine? The phrase repeated in the back of her mind. Her head slightly tilted as she peered at the bodyguard. "Getting a little bit cheeky, are we?" Her voice remained calm, as did the smile across her face. Although Yuna was not at all impressed by the servant's actions, she would admit that her feat was very... unique. Most of her ranking did not have the audacity to prod at her character. Frankly, anyone with a functioning brain knew better than to question royalty — especially if they happened to be a flower maiden. Doing so was like a personal request to be reprimanded.

She supposed it wasn't unusual for people's judgment to change upon actually meeting her. The general public reputed her as an incredibly compassionate and polite individual. Similar to a flower, maidens were supposed to act gentle and delicate, but the facade wasn't something Yuna was interested in presenting at all times. By all means, she was not cruel or heartless, but those of the palace came to know her as a much more dominant figure compared to the docile side usually shown to the people. In reality, she was anything but that. Yuna would not let herself be crushed, like a petal underfoot. She was assertive, dogmatic — an imposing force that dolts wish they hadn't provoked.

With the wonders of magic, the stack of papers and the quill disappeared just as quickly as when they first appeared. Her gaze moved back to the bodyguard, however Yuna's smile was wiped off her face. Instead, her lips were pressed into a thin frown, a pensive look replacing the happier one from moments ago. She was not an oblivious idiot. She had taken notice to the change of her words, the structure of her sentences. Even if this girl was attempting to be polite, it was obvious that the light of her true nature was starting to shine through the cracks. The flower maiden figured she wasn't the only one present with two faces.

Slowly, the corners of her lips tugged once more into a smile, an amused chuckle escaping from her lips. "Autographs? I would hold it close to my heart if I were you, as I don't fancy offering another." For a moment, she paused before slowly turning against her heels. Now, Yuna faced away from the bodyguard, but she stayed in place instead of walking forward. "I must add, I don't quite appreciate when people take me for a fool, either." Without saying anymore, Yuna walked ahead, taking steps down from the pavilion until she stood back on the stone path. Now that their meeting ceased, she had no desire to burn time in the gardens any longer.

  • Jasmine Kirishima - Kyoumei Bodyguard

Jasmine wanted to smile from beneath her masqueraded emotions. She knew she wasn't imagining the slight moment in which Yuna's eyes changed shape at her comment. She knew princesses weren't going to break their expressions so easily by such a sly comment as that. It was going to take a little more. But she had the time. She had plenty of time to act out towards her and she was going to enjoy every last second. Yuna would soon know that her bodyguard wasn't entirely the well-behaved flower child she made herself out to be.

The princess made it apparent that she caught on the statement she made. It was a little much for a start but Jas wasn't used to holding her tongue and still letting herself go at the same time. It was usually either all or nothing with her, and that might come out from time to time. Now that she was bound by contract, she didn't have to worry as much. The girl simply wanted to mess with her more and use her professional tone while doing so. Maybye it would set Yuna off even more if she did so. Letting loose too early would be too mediocre. For such a being as the maiden of the kingdom, there was a lot to be seen and a lot to figure out. Only one to three people per kingdom had the benefit of being a bodyguard, depending on how bad the others were. She was gifted with this opportunity to mess with one of the most royal beings the public has known.

Jasmine was taken aback slightly by her quick regard back. It was a taste of seeing how snarky a maiden could be. She had no idea what was to come or how far she could push her but she really wanted to test it like she had with countless others. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for her. She could tell, at least, that Yuna wasn't entirely a prissy goody-two-shoes. But Jas wasn't going to back down over a single comment, nor was her expression going to falter and twist. Just the right amount of words. Just a tiny little thing that the princess could catch on to, to make her question a statement. It was almost too easy to do.

"Of course, princess, I do not take you for a fool. I am certain, as a flower maid, you know exactly what you're doing," her voice had almost gone too sarcastic in that moment but she had kept her poise. Just a little sarcasm in her wording wasn't going to be too big. Just to act as though she was questioning her authority or her sense of self. Still, she held her hands together in front of her and followed along with the princess toward the exit of the garden. She was almost too eager to get moving as they so planned. Nighttime. Just what the doctor ordered. Jas followed behind the princess, trying to push back any quirks that made her seem too excited for something to happen.

  • A small part of her being was regretting wishing for an alternative to a dutiful hound. This woman had bark, although a subtle one interwoven into her more polite mannerisms and gestures. It made it necessary to second-guess the intentions behind her phrasing. Perhaps it would've been clever, in the case that Yuna hadn't noticed. But no, she was a vigilant person, who took notice to even the most minor of details, like the wavering of one's breath or a change in pitch to their voice. What was this woman thinking, trying to purposely rub her the wrong way? Especially even after receiving an evident warning, she was still speaking unfiltered? Fear was a proficient benefactor, yet Jasmine appeared to hold none. Yuna enjoyed someone who could be courageous, but this? This was just an elusive form of disrespect.

If vexation was what Jasmine wished to see, she was far from obtaining it. Yuna would not give her the pleasure of becoming heated. No, instead, she would be calm, cool, as persistent to her objective as the rhythm of the sea. Still, her thoughts couldn't help but fixate on the bodyguard's aim herself. Her purpose to protect seemed true, but her speech was mystifying. Had she done anything to set the servant off already? Not that she recalled, which left no possible explanation, or at least, not one that Yuna could fathom. Unless... was Jasmine attempting to make her look bad? Was this all a ruse to sabotage her? She protected her image diligently — she wouldn't let her efforts result to nothing, especially not at the hands of a servant blind to their position.

Their walk towards the exit of the garden had been mostly silent, until Yuna decided to speak up. "Tell me. Who was it that requested your service? The Emperor? Empress? Or was it my dearest siblings?" Hopefully, her mild suspicions were just a result of overthinking. But, depending on her answer, she might need to be more attentive of her own acts — not Jasmine's. Her tone hadn't faltered when she spoke, and luckily she didn't need to worry about her facial expressions now that she was facing away. Hopefully her concern would be overlooked because of that, instead of another concept to be prodded at by the woman.

About another minute passed before they arrived at one of the exits to the garden, where two guards stood on duty. As the princess approached, they respectfully bowed before moving to open the door for the two. "I wish you a safe journey, Princess," one of the men uttered. In return, all Yuna did was dip her head in acknowledgement and smile. She stepped through the doors, which lead into a single building. It was only after exiting that more stone paths appeared, heading all sorts of directions. Some directed to the palace, others to the servants' housing units, and so forth. Without looking back at Jasmine, Yuna gestured to her with the simple wave of her hand. "Come."

[ sorry for the rushed ending! i got some stuff i need to do but wanted to get this out ]

  • Jasmine Kirishima - Kyoumei Bodyguard

Jasmine couldn't tell what it was the princess was thinking. She could only hope that it was something off about her. Maybe she was thinking about how she was as a bodyguard or wondering where the comments had come from. Jas was set on crossing a line with the princess that she could only hope wouldn't cost her a literal arm and a leg. But it was worth the risk in her eyes. Just to see the fabled maiden in a state that others weren't able to see. It was as though she was poking a bear and lived to tell the tale of those none had survived before. Something like this, she wouldn't pass up for even a second, and even as she followed behind her, she allowed for a slip of a longer grin along the side of her face.

She allowed for her smirk to dissipate to conceal the expression in her voice. She was not going to be caught so easily before they had even set foot outside of the garden. It was all like that of a game to her that she wanted to win, oh so badly. This wasn't her initial goal from her being a bodyguard, but it was certainly a benefit to reap from the girl now that she had made it this far. Jas thought maidens must have been so unlucky to be weaker than normal when not in bloom and to have to go so far as to need a bodyguard. They went through so much pain and had to act professional all the time. At least with Jasmine around, she allowed for her to cut loose sometimes. Even if it was just to snap on the bodyguard.

"Through excellent service, strict devotion, and unmatched skill, I was able to climb rankings until I was chosen by the emperor himself. Simply for being high in the charts, that is. I'm sure he was too busy a man to seek out each individual person to find one most suitable. I just happened to be the most capable," she explained, though almost boasting at the fact. She had aimed tirelessly for the spot, simply to be recognized by someone to put her in a higher position than the one she owned. Under royalty, she had acted prim and proper as she practiced. However, alone, she used any means necessary to push her skill even further. It was her life's goal. She wasn't in it for the money or fame, but for the proof of power and the position to act for the kingdom itself.

Jasmine never entirely though she was going to be a bodyguard when she was climbing the ranks. She simply wanted a place to fight those that others could not. Where those in the top spots would lose, she swore that she would not and would fight as she would, whenever necessary. She tormented herself and taught her body through failure until it was drilled into her muscle memory to do so. Some people had it easy, though she fought for it all the same. She thought about this as she peered at the guards in front of the exit to the garden, giving them a bow as well to thank them for their service and duty. All the while, she thought to herself in her head how much farther she had progressed from that point and was glad she wasn't stuck there. After lifting herself back up, she followed behind the princess. Outdoors seemed like the perfect place to let loose a little more. No one watching but Jasmine and the princess herself.

ooc: Oh, you're totally fine! Go do what you gotta do!

  • Upon listening to Jasmine's answer, a wave of relief surged and washed away any sense of apprehension in its path. Ah, so it was her father's doing, and not a sibling's? That was good. Very exceptional, even. Despite the gradual wrinkling of his skin and strips of ashy gray growing in his hair with passing time, her father's attitude itself never seemed to change, and that was for the better. Unsurprisingly, he was a busy man, consumed with the arduous task of regulating the land. However, even when she was a young child, he always made an effort to make sure she was alright, whether it was in the form of a personal visit or sending maids her way. Yuna was positive that her father would never want her harmed, and thus, there was no reason to doubt the qualities of her new bodyguard. His judgment was reliable, so she had no reason to prolong her suspicions.

Her siblings, on the other hand? They were questionable characters. Years upon years of facing their taunts, and more importantly, their slandering had made her skeptical of even the simplest gestures of kindness from them. There was a time where maybe Yuna believed in their goodness, but now their consideration was simply a way to catch her off guard. They were always lurking, listening, scheming opportunities to destroy her plans. She would say they were alike rats, but that was an insult to the creature. To an extent, she could understand why her siblings treated her the way she did. She was always the first to catch her parents' eye, the child who gained the most affection and admiration from peers. Yuna tried to be courteous to her siblings, but nearly always, she was met with a grimace, or a tale of how she'd never understand what it felt like to live in someone's shadow. Needless to say, they were correct, but what was she supposed to do? Apologize for existing?

A little sigh escaped from her lips, breaking the silence, before she shook her head to herself as if it would clear her thoughts away. "Congratulations. Being selected by the emperor is not an honour most receive." The Hyeon family did not consist of people who thoughtlessly threw titles as if they were nothing. They believed in honest work and broad expertise, which reflected on the ranking system of the servants. It was only those who persevered through strenuous labour and maintained their dignity that rose to the top. "And if I'm guessing correctly, you're quite a young age, are you not? That is all the more admirable." Truthfully, when she arrived at Moonlight Garden, Yuna was expecting to meet with an individual a little older than herself, as that was often the case with prior personal bodyguards. If Jasmine already achieved such a rank now, she must've been very gifted. Who knew what the future had waiting for her.

Some fellows were astounded by how easily the flower maiden appeared to traverse throughout the massive palace, but it was only natural given that she was living there for nearly two decades and a half now. If anything, it was embarrassing if she was unaware of every corner, every shortcut in the layout of her own home. Speaking of shortcuts, it explained why she stepped off the lengthy path, and instead cut between two buildings. From where Yuna stood, she could see the outline of the exit, along with two rows of guards protecting it. Instead of continuing ahead, the princess stopped and tilted her head to look back at Jasmine over her shoulder. A calm expression was on her face before she spoke. "This will be your last chance to retrieve any items or say any final goodbyes."

  • Jasmine Kirishima - Kyoumei Bodyguard

Jasmine followed along with the princess through the pathway that was laid out for them. It was a lengthy one, indeed, but she wasn't one for complaining about distance, especially in such a place as the palace itself. She could only imagine what it would have been like to live in such high stature for so long. She needed only to ask Yuna to know the answer. However, she chose not to and followed along without a sound. Even her footsteps were quieter than the girl she was followed, a memory etched into her carefully crafted body to walk softer than normal. It was nothing but a simple trick she taught herself over time. She thought that maybe with such a duty as this, she could relax a bit more than usual because of how little people dared to come to this place. She instead shook the thought from her mind and continued onward.

As a child, Jas would be amazed by this sight. She would be swooning over the tall walls and extensive rooms and fanciful structure of the entire building. It was like everything she had ever dreamed of. But she was forced to grow up fast. She was forced to push those thoughts away quickly and lead on her life without the thought of such rich treasures. She should have been celebrating for making it to that point but even still, her job was not finished, she had simply gotten to the part in her job where it all began. Where it had all gotten quite serious compared to her other work. She was at least glad that over time, she was able to have more fun with her life through her own personal enjoyment.

Her eyes glanced in the direction of the princess as she spoke, getting a good look a the back of her hair for the first time. It was a prettier color than what most people could really describe. It was almost as though she were looking at a flower herself. It was exactly what she expected of a flower maiden and she had finally gotten to be with one after so many years. She couldn't tell if she was glad or disappointed in her lack of emotion towards this. The maiden was just as pretty as royalty could make her and Jasmine had the privilege in which to partake in being with her for long periods. It was a place that any other person would be jealous of. The thick, assumingly soft, hair, her porcelain skin, the rounded shining eyes she had seen earlier, and a professional garb to compliment it all. She was thinking too much.

"Yes, I have been told that I am quite far for my age. But it is as they say, princess. The young must protect the old," she remarked. Something that sounded very professional coming from her lips but an insult in choice of wording. Inside, she was laughing. "And no. Thank you for your concern, but I have detached myself from everything already," she spoke as she turned her head slightly to look back at the princess. The same smile on her face. The same affixed face she gave to everyone that showed she was not too serious, not too expressive, and definitely not dissatisfied. She wore a relaxed looking of contentment and to some, it was frustrating, and to others, it was pleasing. It would only depend on what Jasmine had said to the person beforehand.

  • It took everything in her power to refrain from turning and snapping at the shorter woman right then and there. The rational part of Yuna enabled her to simmer some of that anger, but she was incredibly close to boiling over. Instead, she turned her head away, refusing to allow her expression to be apparent. Her face became rigid, and her jaw clamped shut tightly. Her frustration was like a fire, burning with the warmth of an inferno. Maybe it was even possible to feel the heat radiating off of her, for this audacious servant of hers was only recklessly adding fuel to the flames. One of the maiden's hands slowly trailed to her waist, where she pulled out an authentic paper fan from her garbs. With the flick of her wrist, there was a swift noise of the item opening. Even something as simple as the folding fan screamed of its owner's wealth. Luxurious and intricate designs were engraved on it, along with the Hyeon family crest.

For a few moments, she used the fan to conceal the bottom portion of her face. Only her eyes remained above, where they stared ahead, slightly narrowed in irritation. It wasn't long before she began using the fan for its intended purpose, pushing gusts of wind upon herself to cool the heat. It was only after the glowing embers of her rage subsided that she finally began to speak. "My... I do wonder... who 'they' must be..." Old? Perhaps Yuna wasn't as youthful as before, but she wasn't old! She knew it, Jasmine sure as hell knew it — the woman was just trying to hit a nerve. "I believe the expression was respect your elders." Clearly, it was something far from Jasmine's intention.

There was a final artificial stroke of wind before the fan closed with the quick swipe of her thumb. With it still clasped between the pads of her fingers, Yuna turned around to face the bodyguard. And here she was, thinking her generosity would pay off. Usually, nobody was capable of ridiculing her a second time. She had let Jasmine off the hook too many times, and now she was getting excessively comfortable with her choice of words. This only furthered her point that rebuking someone on their first mistake was necessary — harsh, yes, but it prevented future problems. Jasmine had taken her mercy for granted, and now she was only spiralling further and further down the funnel that was the Kyoumei maiden's wrath.

A smile — a dangerous, unnerving one — made way to her face. Yuna raised up the fan, and using the end, she pressed it against the younger woman's forehead. It was not a forceful push, but she maintained just enough pressure so that Jasmine could feel the weight of the contact. It wasn't uncommon for those who disappointed the princess to additionally be met with the discipline of the accursed fan. "You are shameful." Her words were blunt, for there was no purpose to sugar-coat her thoughts. "Five minutes pass, and you already forget your place? Who do you think you are?" While continuing to press the closed fan against Jasmine's skin, Yuna took a quick glance to the side. The guards by the doors had their heads tilted, curiously watching the exchange, but scrambled back to their original position with the maiden's gaze on them. She released a huff of air before looking back at the girl.

"Someone of your status should be an exemplary model to others. Yet here you are, wasting my precious time. I should not have to reprimand you for basic etiquette. Even beginners know when to hold their tongue." Whether it was out of respect, fear, or a mixture of both, nobody dared to disrespect her until now. "Speak to me in that manner again, and I'll have you demoted all the way back to the start." She finally drew the fan away from the girl's forehead, only to utilize it to give the top of Jasmine's head a gentle, harmless whack. "And you keep your head bowed when you approach me."

Without hesitation, she turned and started stepping towards the exit. The maiden simply didn't have the patience for anything the bodyguard had to say.

  • Jasmine Kirishima - Kyoumei Bodyguard

Jasmine watched as her head moved away from her direction, almost too quick to seem that of a calmed demeanor. Had she struck a chord on the princess? Had she done it already? She had prevented herself from smiling further to conceal her expression of victory within her. Though she knew no one could currently see her face, she still decided to keep her features calm for the worst. She was never able to see or experience an angered royal other than one occasion where a guard had made a heavy mistake. But that was something she overheard, not anything she had the pleasure of witnesses to the finest detail. Did the princess always pull out a fan when she was upset?

She watched the material close in front of her, the girl turning back in her direction with a smile on her face that seemed different than recently. Jasmine blinked as the princess suddenly placed the fan against her forehead. Internally, she was taken aback, but she didn't want to show a capable guard being suddenly spooked. Shameful? Of course I am. Her eyes moved towards the guards further out, the princess doing the same to make them snap back into place. Such instant power. Her gaze shifted back towards Yuna, the fan still placed against her skin. She said no words, simply letting her speak to her in a tone that only the princess could use. So this is what it's like to make a princess upset.

For a moment, only Jas's head followed the princess as she began moving again, taking in every word that was just given to her. I just had to make a comment about her age? That was too easy, especially with her silver hair. She allowed for her body to move once again and follow her as she was supposed to, wondering what the guards were thinking about what just happened. Say anything about it and you'll regret it. They walked closer to the guards, her eyes still focused ahead as she wondered how she would approach her next move. Getting on her bad side this quick would lead to complications at some point. She just didn't know where to begin.

"Apologies, princess," she spoke, attempting to catch up with her. It was her duty after all to be by her side. "I was simply admiring your status and current position in the kingdom. I did not mean to misstep." Oh, I sure as hell did. "If you shall demote me, I should still remain your bodyguard. It is a part of the contract that you have signed earlier." I'm not as simple as you think I am. "I shall learn to watch my tongue." Don't freak out about the contract just yet. At least wait until you're outside so you don't cause a scene. "But I can assure you, I am an extraordinary model for those on the battlefield that you shall not regret." She continued after her, the walking speed faster than it had been earlier. The princess was really upset.

  • Her father might have handpicked the finest guardian there was, but she supposed that had no correlation to how insolent one could be. And perhaps she never resided, let alone visited an area as grimy as a farmstead, but Yuna knew when she could scent complete and utter bullshit.Who did this girl think she was fooling, with her half-assed apologies? If she truly was feeling contrite, she would've heeded her first warning. "I don't recall asking for an excuse." Her tone, although not infuriated, dripped with venom nonetheless. What a brainless justification it was. Admiring her status? Her current position? As if her age had anything to do with that! She was carrying her title of not just a princess, but a flower maiden from the cradle to the grave. Nothing, not even time, was capable of taking that from her.

The bodyguard's voice was never-changing, which possibly explained why Yuna felt as if she was still being mocked. She was like a feline with its sleek fur on end, anticipating what was to come, but already hissing. "Nor did I ever say anything about my own bodyguard, did I?" She thought she was clever, mentioning the contract? How suspicious of her to plan ahead... What could Jasmine be hiding up her sleeve? "Considering your blatant disregard of my ease, I would be unsurprised if your crass mind hasn't realized that I am a busy woman. My time runs short. Quite unfortunately, I don't have minutes to burn seeking another guard." If anything, guards would've came to her if she asked. Some would immediately drop to their heels, begging for the opportunity to obtain a position beside her. But, it was a matter of whether or not they were fit for the challenge. Yes, some of her servants were undyingly faithful, but Yuna was not looking for needless sacrifices.

In her honest opinion, Yuna believed it was easier to keep the mouth shut rather than spew bold remarks. Her lack of filter was inexcusable. Had her mother, father, anyone taught her any manners? "Respect is something you learn during childhood. In fact, I have met young children more behaved than you, which I must say is quite embarrassing." Had a mentor never bothered to put Jasmine in her place? It was a foolish decision, messing with someone who had the power to change every aspect of your life with a single command. "However, this might be a fortunate opportunity for me. Who better than the princess herself to teach you discipline?" She could personally see to it that Jasmine was made reverent. After a lesson or two, she wouldn't dare converse so unmannerly.

Yuna paid no mind to the guards who bowed as they walked through the exit, past the walls that protected her home. Still, they had a while to go before they reached the streets, for the palace was situated above many, many rows of stairs. From where she stood above, the princess could see faint glow of lanterns that illuminated the streets, like low-hanging stars. At night, it looked peaceful with the streets mostly empty, save for the occasional merchant or an active nighttime bar. For a moment, she took in the sight, as she realized that it would be a long while before she'd be capable of returning back home. With the slight shake of her head, the flower maiden tilted her head down and began her descent down the stairs.

  • Jasmine Kirishima - Kyoumei Bodyguard

Jasmine would have been taken aback by these immediate responses of hatred, if she had not already seen this coming. She had been through this situation one too many times in the past and it has gotten her swiftly kicked from the premises. She had her fair share of reputation due to lack of a filter from her mouth. It was simply who she was and it was how she had fun in the world. And she could tell the maiden was not having such a fair time with Jas at the moment. If she wasn't careful, she knew she could be in more trouble than she knew what to deal with. She would never get along with her at this rate and that would make it one of the most difficult duties that would she would come to face.

Jas followed in silence as she listened to all that the princess had to say to her. When did she lose the upper hand? Since she was dealing with royalty. It was like a precious jewel that you dared not break, and she was picking at it to test the limits before it cracked. Now that it did, she'd just have to melt it down and re-forge it. That wasn't so hard, right? She knew internally that she was in for a rollercoaster of letting herself leak out to pulling back and have the repeated process until they were finally at terms with one another. She had at least thought that after a while, even the princess would get used to her like so many others have. Or maybe she was thinking too highly on how a maiden would react to someone that showed them less respect. They were one of the most respected living beings in the kingdom.

She exited the palace with the girl, walking towards the strenuous amount of steps that laid before them. A darkened tone echoed in her head, one that she tried to keep peaceful as much as she was able. I didn't exactly have a childhood, but you wouldn't know that, would you, princess? she shot back to herself, all the while, keeping her composure intact. It wasn't anything she had enjoyed thinking or talking about and so she ignored delving further into the topic again. It was a memory she was going to shove down to her grave. I forgot you had your head up your ass for so long that you don't know how to loosen up and instead want everyone to conform to your level of falsehood. She kept a calming look on her face, a trick she taught herself to keep her from being read by the likes of others.

The two approached further to the stairs, the nighttime glistening before them as they both couldn't help but take a quick peak. Jasmine had been silent at this point, rethinking her words to know what was safe at the time and what wasn't. She knew when her employer had had enough and it wouldn't be a fun time to be executed from this position. Not after she had made it so far. Melt and re-forge. "It is a beautiful night out tonight," she spoke to break her own silence, a topic she would think the princess had taken notice too. The view from where they were was just another thing to behold, something she couldn't fathom living in for her entire life. This was too royal for Jas. She couldn't be the princess, nor did she want to. Life was too boring that way.
