  • 「 I take my pills, and I'm happy all the time—

Now was the time that Pinefall felt necessary to announce how he felt. The fear of having something else happen to Jewelpelt caused him to panic; that just couldn't happen again. So now the abyssinian tom found himself wandering around camp, unsure where Jewel would likely be. Would she be upset that he lost their kits? Possibly reject him just due to that reason? These were the current fears rushing through the warriors head; hoping this wasn't a possibility.

He likely looked like a mess right now; but this would be the first time he'd ever admitted such a thing. Pine had never been in a true relationship before; nobody else really affected him as much as Jewel. "Jewelpelt? I need to speak with you" The tone of his voice wasn't as cheerful as it usually one. Instead there was a slight stutter and he appeared emotional even though nothing had been said. This truly would be one of the first conversations they had since everything went down. Yet Pine always found himself supporting her, despite how they didn't seem as close after the kits began to grow. But all that was the past.....She was back and he couldn't ask for anything more.

Jewelpelt felt her heart flutter in her chest. A cliched expression, yes, but that was exactly how it felt. A little butterfly stuck in a jar, that thinks to themselves: there. That's a light of hope. And StarClan knew Jewelpelt needed hope.

She slowly approached the Abyssinian tom. He was a very special warrior. He was kind and soft. Worrying and caring. Jewelpelt has never met anyone else like that in her entire life. But they told each other they would just work on caring for the kits. The kits were gone now, and Jewelpelt missed everything. Oh, who was she fooling? The only one who really cared for the kits were the queens and Pinefall. What if he'd be angry she was so ignorant to the kits and then left him to care about them on his own?

She settled down, tail curled around herself, trying to inspect the tom's eyes. They were nervous, just like hers

"Yes, Pinefall? What is it?" she asked.

  • 「 I take my pills, and I'm happy all the time—

A lump appeared in his throat as Jewelpelt approached him; still unable to understand how she managed to get back. But Pinefall didn't want to worry about that; that may just make it happen again. "I....I never got to say what I wanted to you." The warrior that always seemed to be in a good mood; he appeared to be getting more and more nervous. "I'm in love with you Jewelpelt....I....I want to become mates with you" If she decided to reject him...well Pinefall could understand that. He had lost their kittens; hadn't been with her when the twolegs came.

All these flaws were beginning to show; only making these things harder. He couldn't sit down now, couldn't be given the chance to rest with all these feelings rushing through him. "I understand if this is t...to much right now. Y...you've just returned and here I am bothering you with this...."

The world slowed down. H-he wants me? After all of this? A lump formed inside her throat. Breathing was suddenly difficult. Her eyes watered. Bothering? “P-Pinefall, I love you too! I’d love for us to be mates. Thank you!” she said. Her voice was soft and high. She couldn’t see much, but she saw a orange splash in front of her. But he was there. She felt it.

But at the same time, she felt terribly wrong. He didn’t know everything... there was no reason for her to hide some things anymore. She inhaled deeply to get rid of her sobs. “I-I think there is something you should know, Pinefall. Those kittens I had with my first mate; they weren’t stillborn. One is still alive. He is in SkyClan. I gave him to the clan. Just like all the other ones. I was stupid. I just... wanted you to know. His name is Berylbreeze.” Her voice lost all sound after a while. Her eyes slid down, looking at Pinefall’s paws. She was mixing dust with hers,

The reaction he was given was clearly appreciated; as Pinefall seemed to be less tense now. Without saying anything he'd approached Jewelpelt; hoping to calm her down. If there was a chance that Pine could've raised her first litter; well he would've. They would've been cared for just as much as he did for their own kittens. "Jewelpelt, You weren't stupid....I can understand why you gave them to the other clans." Sure, Pinefall hadn't been blessed for any litters prior to their own but he could understand. Some cats simply have litters to young; they still have a life to live. That was where cats like Pine came into play, willing to help the queens with the kits.

Despite all this he should be the one seen as a failure. He'd promised to keep all their kits safe; yet they simply vanished soon after Jewel herself. "I've always been there for you and always will be. Nothing is going to change unless you wanted it too"

Jewel looked up at him, and pushed her head against his chest. "Thank you," she mumbled, curling her tail around him.
