  • ———— MEADOWLARK ————

THEY SAY THAT HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS

It was no secret that Meadowlark had a fondness for the Gaia tree. Their home was practically an extension of herself at this point, as were the wisps that lived within and spoke their secrets to her. So it was no surprise to anyone that Mea had been spending a great deal of time inside of it cleaning and making sure that everything was in its proper place. But today was different. As Meadowlark was going through the Gaia tree, checking on each and every facet, she felt something shift in the air around her. The wisps. Their voices changed from casual conversation to fearful squeaks. Their voices began to sound from all through the Gaia, moving to and fro quickly. A warning. But a warning of what? Then she felt it in the ground beneath her paws. Tremors. As the world began to shake, the feline backed herself as far into a corner as she could to avoid any form of injury. Shutting her eyes, she waited until the world had stopped moving before slowly opening them and glancing about. Things inside the Gaia were certainly knocked around, but it didn't look as though anything had fallen down. Breathing a sigh of relief, Meadowlark quickly made her way to the exit that would take her back to the camp, but she found herself blocked. From what she could tell, a large branch of the Gaia had cracked and fallen in the tremors, blocking the exit save for a sliver of open air at the top of the doorway. "Hello! Is everyone all right? I'm trapped in here!"

  • ❝ DO I DARE ❞

There was much to understand of the Sanctuary, and as of yet the forest cat is still ignorant. She had been searching for any written records she could find to help broaden her understandings, yet such materials were scarce. Vivienne does not want to come off as unwilling to learn or, heavens forbid, rudely lacking in religious knowledge. Her search had finally drawn her to the great Gaia tree, awe-inspiring in its size and the subtle power it seems to radiate.

Vivienna had been just about to trace a paw reverently over an exposed root when a quivering in the earth sent her sprawling. A groan escapes her at the pain of being thrown around and she carefully tests her joints. Women such as her self are terribly susceptible to injury. The strong twinge in her paw implores her to find medical help, and she rises to do just that, only for a voice to call out. Though it isn't a cry from help, Vivienne cannot help but assume it is close.

"Are you alright, dear? I am afraid I cannot help; perhaps I can send for someone?" Her response is as loud as her weak lungs permit at this point. How dreadfully useless this is! "May I have your name as well, please? I seem to have forgotten it."
