  • As the rising sun burnt the morning mist from its residence, a shiver ran through Viperpaw, releasing what little dew crested his darkly-striped pelt into the cold air. A drop of wetness pelted his nose, causing him to sneeze, then looked towards the weeping willow that had wept its' watery tear onto him with an annoyance only he could muster. Wrinkling his nose, he quietly tromped through the overgrowth leading towards the herbs where he so coveted. The scent of Skyclan was thick, thicker than when they last replenished their borders, neighboring Bloodclan territory. A sigh escaped him, a cloud of thin steam trailed from black lips as he could only ponder why. The recent meeting had left multiple clans in turmoil, in anger and in frustration, the injustice he felt was enacted upon Bloodclan was clear. While he would admit the recent wrongdoings of Bloodclan seemed to uphold no moral, there were strong laws in place to better the clan towards a brighter future, one free of the previous pillaging and terror-filled reign of the former leaders. He trusted Ruth, with all his heart, and could only help others to see both sides of the story instead of a simple close-minded view.

Enough of that, he decided, he wasn't here to focus on recent politics. The thought still lingered, provoking his anger before he caught sight of what he had come here for. Burdock and yarrow. The recent rat invasion had certainly left Bloodclan floundering, a desperate need for burdock was instated, and thus, the aftermath led Viperpaw here, near Skyclan territory. He went about, digging up burdock and refilling the holes, plucking yarrow roots, without realizing his tail brushing the Skyclan boundary.

/ sorry slightly rushed, but blink !

  • In unfortunate honesty, Blink had yet to understand the concept of the boundaries set by the clans. Sure, she knew that they existed--her conversation with Minkpaw of WindClan definitely taught her that at least--but she didn't really get why she had to stay within them. The other clans seemed quite friendly, or at least WindClan did, but who's to say the others weren't just the same? Maybe it came from her lack of a proper mentor, or from simply childlike nativity, but the timid girl, despite her reservations about meeting others, but Blink indeed didn't see the reason she should defend her borders, or respect those of the other clans.

No, this didn't stem from any sort of aggression. In general, Blink was a pacifist. Sure, she could get a little snappy when overwhelmed or when she felt someone she loved was being threatened, but she hadn't ever actually hurt anyone. Thus, when her eyes set on the unfamiliar figure of Viperpaw, her first reaction wasn't to jump at him or threaten him. Quite the opposite, in fact. Her first instinct? To run. But oddly enough, her paws were glued to the ground, refusing to budge even the smallest mouse tail of length. Her dark eyes studied the younger feline from afar, uncertainty and nervousness sparking within the edges of her eyes.

What should she do? She could try and force herself to run, sure, but the seemed like the wrong option in this case. This cat seemed to be looking for plants, just like Brookfur did. Maybe they were like Brookfur? The SkyClan medicine cat was sweet, and Blink really liked her, so maybe she would really like this cat too. Plus, she didn't necessarily have to fight him. The other SkyClan cats rarely attacked others at the border, save for the challenging tones of Juniperpaw, so she didn't really need to, she supposed. Alongside this, Blink was trying to get herself to integrate further into their society, and maybe she could take a small step towards that by approaching this cat.

"Hey! Um..." Here she went, her paws stiffly bringing the small-bodied female shakily towards the stranger. "Are, um, you s-supposed to be here? Uh... this is SkyClan t-territory! Uh..." Her eyes looked away from the tom. Should she ask more questions? Should she even say more? She really didn't know what to do from here. And thus, she simply waited, her body compact in a way that announced the anxiety that coursed through the tortoiseshell.

    "Speech." Tags.

  • having been too wrapped up in herbal scents, he didn't notice the skyclanner approaching. at the sound of her voice, he ever so slowly looked towards her, virid eyes wide so wide one could see the golden flecks within, and a mouth full of herbs that he ever so slowly dropped. he silently cursed himself for being so careless, his mind racing. of course, she seemed nice enough, she didn't attack him outright for accidentally being too close to the border and passing through. a kind action garnered a kind response. "hi," viper greeted warmly before continuing, "my mentor asked me to pick up some herbs from skyclan territory," he trailed off, unsure of what to say now. he knew specifically, she told him take care of skyclan territory, after what had happened at the passing gathering.

he was wary of skyclan, their deputy having been acting spokesperson for the clan determined they weren't going to attend any more gatherings so long as bloodclan was in attendance. he figured that was just in blatant disrespect of the ancestor's conduct, he thought that so long as the moon shone bright in all its glory, uncovered, there would be a truce at the gatherings, yet it seemed like skyclan was unheeding of this, as so were riverclan and another. it troubled him, deeply to say the least, that such prejudice was brought to such the forefront of their minds that they were incapable of upholding one of the more sacred codes. of course, he would have to admit that there were some obvious inconspicuous wrongdoings on bloodclan's part, but that was part of the individual, not the clan.

hesitant, he was determined to make right by his clan. "i don't mean harm," he winced as he said the words, of course, he wouldn't mean harm, he was a healer's apprentice, and swore to do no harm unless need be, unless defending himself. his voice was slightly shaky, yet it betrayed no evil intent on his part. virid eyes, still wide, looked at the skyclanner with disquiet.
