THEY SAY THAT HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS

It had been so long since the last time she had stepped onto the territory of the Sanctuary, the large Gaia looming in the distance as the cinnamon tabby feline approached the borders. She had disappeared rather unceremoniously, leaving without a word save for a note to Survivalinstincts about her impending absence. Therefore, she was hesitant as she approached. Would they remember her? Would they still be here? Val. Nana. All of her friends. How many people would she know, or would she have to start all over again, just as she had done so many times before. Meadowpaw... No. Meadowlark. That was her name now. She was of age after all, and it was high time she kept the traditions. Her heart pounded in her chest, the Gaia growing bigger and bigger as she came to the border. How badly she wanted to step over it and continue to walk, but they had rules. And even she, though she technically a member of the Sanctuary, was not above them. And so with a flick of her tail she decided to wait to see if she would be allowed within the borders once again. "Hello?" She called. "Val? Nana? It's me, Meddy. I'm back."

  • It had been a while since Val had last seen Meadowpaw. Truthfully, he'd been a bit worried for the girl when she'd gone but the decision had been hers and there was no way that the man could keep her from doing what it was that she wanted. Deep in his heart, he hoped that she would find whatever she might have been looking for whether it be a figurative part of herself or something more.

Survivalinstinct was on patrol that day, sauntering throughout his home with his head held high and his eyes peeled for unfamiliar persons upon borders. However, he finds no stranger, but instead a friend. She calls for his name and pierced ears perk, his eyes growing a margin wider at the voice. It was so familiar. Was it... Was it her? Val picks up the pace and he around, his verdant luminaries falling upon the older girl with surprise worming its way onto his features. "Meddy!" He returns with a light laugh, his trademark lopsided smile slapping itself onto his handsome features, "You are back." He pauses, letting his gaze flicker over her briefly before he says, "Wait, did you get taller? How old are you again?" A joke is implied here, but he also doesn't wish to be swatted at, so he steps back for a moment to avoid as such.

THEY SAY THAT HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS

Despite the gnawing fear growing in her mind, her heart stood strong and proud and true. Because she knew that they would still be here. And even if Nana and Val were no longer here, she would continue. She would move forward, as she had always done. All she was really waiting for at this rate was for someone to appear and allow her back in with no other issues. Hearing someone approaching, her ears flickered back and forth, her smile falling into something of a neutral stance. But as he came closer, his familiar silhouette growing sharper and sharper, her smile returned. Larger than it had been before. "Val!" she called, happier than she had been before. Stepping back didn't stop Meadowlark from reacting, let alone from darting forward in order to nuzzle against him in greeting. It had been too long since they had last seen each other. Stepping back, she sat on her hind legs and puffed out her chest a bit. "I may have gotten a bit bigger. But you're still bigger than me by a longshot." The cinnamon tabby chuckled, glad to be back among friends. "Is Nana still here? And Chica? Showstopper?" So many other names popped in her mind too, such as Silver's children. Lincoln. Ghost. How many had left. How many were still here.

  • Well of course Nana was still here where else would he have gone?. He was not like her how would just disappear all of the suddenly one day and for what reason?. Survivalinstinct had never told them in a more specific details on why thier former Harbringer of peace had left them left himwithout even speaking one word about it. Oh this bitterly feeling that existed so heavily inside of his chest, he hated it ever single drop of it. " Ah Mia, welcome back. Everyone have missed you so much." I wish you never had come back at all!. A pleasant and warm smile was over the prince lips as he approched over closer to greet thier returning member all of his emotions hidden behind that perfect elegent poker face of his because he would never ever show Meadowpaw or anyone else for that matter anything else then that. Meadowpaw did not meant anything for him to begin with, he was just....disappointed over the wasted worth she could have had here - for him. That was all...

She had grown since last time though that much was noticable. No longer did she looked like a young growing lady but actually having blossomed to become one. " And you've grown into a beautiful lady i see." he complimated her out of politiness or charm perhaps, but it was nothing more then that. Oh no, despite how beautiful she might have blossomed to become her beauty could never match to his own neither did he acknowledge anyone's beauty aside from himself. He was just trying to be...nice.

THEY SAY THAT HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS

Her ears perked as a familiar voice drifted over, along with a familiar pet name. A name that he had invented for her all on his own. Turning, the feline's face glowed with the purest form of joy. She might have been generally oblivious to Lavendercrown's sense of selfishness and entitlement, but it wasn't as though he made it obvious himself. He hid himself behind a mask. Meadowlark, on the other hand, took people as they presented themselves. She never had any reason to question someone's motives or wonder why people acted in a certain way. So of course she didn't pick up on the bitterness flowing off of Nana. All she saw was the smile and that was enough for her. "Nana!" The cinnamon feline bounded over to meet him, nuzzling up against him as a form of embracing. Meadowlark might have been expressing nothing but joy in her return, but there was a sorrow in her heart that she had to address. Looking up at Nana and then turning to Val she said, "I'm... I'm sorry I left like that. I should have told everyone what was happening I just... I remembered something. For once in my life I remembered having a family and I... I had to go see if they were still there. I just hope everyone can forgive me." Notable was the fact that Mea chose not to disclose what she had discovered, though it certainly wouldn't be out of anyone's reach to conclude that her journey had ultimately been for nothing. Perhaps that was why tears were brimming on her eyes, as she brushed them away quickly with a paw.

//wow just f me right up with that post seina

  • What on earth did she just do?!. Like it wasn't bad enough already for her showing her face up here again she as well had decided all on her own to run up and touch him, taking that freedom all on her own without even asking his permission over it first. How dare she, how dare she. Like touching him without his acceptance not was bad enough as it already was Meadowlark was the last person on earth right now the prince wanted anywhere near him. The Hamrik prince would bite down on his lip, forcing his own musclers to remain calm to not show how utterly disgusted he was right now.

Her excuses for leaving where just that, excuses. Lavi was indeed a very shelfish indvindual and even though he could understand the importance of family after all had cared deeply for his own family once but he had finally realised right before joining The Sanctuary how meaningless it was to show loyalty to the people he had got raised and lived with. In thier eyes they would never see him as the person he deeply believed he deserved to be acknowledged to be. Meadowlarks foolish mission to leave to found hers where just as pointless and it was showed clear to him over how she had come back here without them. Foolish girl. After she was finished with her story that had no effect on him whatsoever the prince would fake a sympathic smile as he glanced down on her, looking truly sorry for her.

" It's all fine Mia, no one blames you for your sudden disapperance." Oh such a horrible lair he was, words slipping out his mouth so sweetly and he know Alcibiades would have frown at him right now. It was easy to lie to others faces, to fake his emotions for others because that was what he had learn. Nathan, remember the key to control people to get what you want is to manipulate them. His father words ringed into his ears, this lesson having sticked to him from then on up to this very day. Everyone loved a person how cared, how show a never ending side of forgiveness and sympathy. That was all they cared about, all they wanted to see and how all where seeking to and looked up to. This perfect selfless and beloved being that not really existed. Everyone was playing others to get what they wanted.

" So?, did you found them?."

// i'm sooooorry, Nana can be so mean sometimes but he is just hurt, he will get over it eventually

  • ". . . that's right," comes the quip on tongue, a lazy beat of butterfly wings, and forth steps woman of hellfire, her voice sheer brimstone. chicago has taken her sweet, sweet time to get here, her previous walk faltering into something a bit more slow. not slow enough to miss whatever drama threatens to spur upon their borders, however. and god, has she grown weary of it. so it's with careful yet pointed drawl she speaks, eyes of sweetest sugared plums stabbing knowingly towards the man who speaks on candied tongue, barbie prim and proper, absolutely fake bullshit. yes. yes, she sees through the guise, no matter how soft and airy he moves his lips. for she is not one of the most observant creatures out there, this stands true, but she is not the most oblivious, either. "

    no one does."

now then. she glances towards the figure of meadowlark, coddled against that of "nana", and she is the deepest browns of songbirds warm and righteous. they have met before. she remembers this, easily, undeniably, the girl blabbering excitement afore the former leader, the remaining founder of these fae touched lands. she sees the slightest dots of misery to spark eyes. she had been looking for her family, her friends. a familiar search still touched upon the heart of chicagocrimes herself, but she knows not how to react to it, what to say of it, save for, "well, glad yer safe an' sound."

THEY SAY THAT HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS

It was rare for Mea to lose her focus on the positivity surrounding, to allow herself to register any kind of negative emotion or feeling. But she caught Nana's slip; the slip of his voice dropping from sincerity to embellishment. Probably one of the first times she had ever done such a thing. Meadowlark wasn't an idiot. She had heard from others around the camp about how she shouldn't hang around Nana because he wasn't a good person. How he was just going to end up using her for something and then drop her like an old coat. Perhaps that was why she backed away from him so suddenly, keeping her eyes locked on his, pleading for some kind of hope that he didn't... That he didn't mean what he had said. So, did you find them? Looking away from him, the feline murmured, "No... They're gone." She had been so foolish, to think that she would be able to find her family. For once in her life she had remembered having one, who they were and what they looked like, and just like that they were gone. Vanished into thin air. But she supposed it didn't matter anymore. "It's good to be back. Thank you for greeting me. Val. Chica. Lavendercrown."
