Welcome to Heaven
Heaven is home to all those have been mistreated and need a new home. We only take in pitbulls, rottweilers, doderman, and mixed dog breeds due to how many are thrown out on the streets. We take dogs off all ages whether they they are puppies or older dogs we will also take in pregnant dogs as well. We have a vast network of foster homes for our dogs and volunteers who work at our shelter.
Most cases we deal with are rescues whether they have been picked up off the street or saved from animal abuse. Our goal is to make sure these dogs can be adopted and are happy and healthy. We do have some cases in which the dogs are perment residents but this is okay they become a part of our family until the day we see them off.
Plot:
This rp will be about dogs who end up being permanent residents at the Heaven shelter the reason why is completely up to you. I will be playing the owner of Heaven shelter but this thread is not about the people though you are free to make them. This thread will contain sensitive topics because some dogs will be ex-fighter dogs or have been abused by their humans. The rp will center around the dogs getting used to lving in the shelter and the challenges they may face.
The Shelter:
The entrance to the building is shown above we are located in a two story building the main floor as our vets, front desk, staff room, and rooms for dogs who are older or pregnant. On the second floor we have rooms for rooms for the dogs who are younger and are able to to go up the stairs. We try to keep most our dogs inside but with some many coming in we have built kennels outside for them as well.
Our inside kennels look more like rooms then they do metal cages to ensure our dogs are comfortable and don't feel caged. The only part this is metal is the door to their rooms which as glass so you can see into the room.
We want to keep our dogs as comfortable as possible so we keep the kennels open during the day and let them roam during the day. By roam we mean that they are free to go back and forth between the otuside play area and their kennels. We have haven taken precautions so the dogs can't roam to where the people are so we ask the you respect the boundaries and not enter their area please.
This is the play area where we let our dogs play and lay in the sun during the day. It is securely fenced and approved by the city council so if you are one of those worried about them getting out the won't promise. We have area just for puppies and injured dogs. The play area is also cleaned daily since this is were we also train our puppies to use the bathroom outside.

Selene Miller:
Selene is the founder and owner of Heaven she comes from a rich family which as supported her journey to make sure Heaven was created and stuck around. Selene had originally set out to be a veterinarian and then she noticed that some many dogs needed more then just veterinary care so she made it her goal to provide a home for all those who need it. Selene is indeed a licensed vet so she can be found checking up on the dogs making sure they are healthy. Selene is around 36 years old and has been running Heaven for ten years now. She has two of her own dogs which she rescued after she started Heaven. She loves all dogs but has a soft spot for those who are mistreated.
New Dogs:
When we get new dogs we keep them seprated from the others until we are sure they will settle well with the others. We don't isolate them instead we slowly introduce to the others and how the shelter works. Some dogs adjust quicker then others but we give hem as much time as they need. When new dogs come in we also give them a check up to be sure that they don't have worms or anyting like that.
Extra Activities:
We also try to plan things for the dogs outside the shelter such has taking them on hikes or bringing them to the local water park made for dogs. Some times we take them to local dog parks to give them time to socialize outside the shelter. We take handfuls at a time to be sure rhigs stay under control

The dogs are from homes where they have been abused and they usually don't trust humans right away. They can range from being aggressive or scared beyound belief. How long it takes the adjust depends on the dog

These are the dogs who have been rescued from drug rings or fighting groups. Most come in injured or near death they usually take the longest to adjust to the shelter

The pregnant females are rescues that are currently pregnant with puppies. They are either close to birth or more then 2 weeks along. Most of these dogs are picked up off the streets (Each mom can have a max of 4 pups each)

These are the dogs who have been living in Heaven for quite some time or came into Heaven an elder. These guys are never put down unless they need to be because they are suffering. If their days are numbered they usually are spoiled being fed human food.
