Sarah smiles gently and Alice tilted her head not sure what was happening “were gone?”she didn’t know why he would go.

Ewan bit his lip. “Dad just made a huge mistake and it’s taking us time for us both to heal.” He told her. Ewan didn’t want to tell her what really happened. She was too young to be exposed to all of it.

Alice hummed “mommy said if you make a mistake you has say sorry a lot”she knew a few things and Sarah hummed “that’s right sweetie well daddy is gonna give us a ride home”

Ewan nodded. “Yeah.” He said and started driving. Ewan glanced at them. “Alice do you like to draw?” He asked. Ewan really wanted to get to know his family again. He felt so lonely.

“I do and mommy draw better because she mommy”she said sweetly and Sarah chuckled “well one day you can be as good even better as me. “

Ewan smiled. “Do you and Emerly draw together sometimes?” He asked. Ewan knew he was getting close to Sarah’s house, so he slowed down some. He wanted to keep talking, just in case this really was his last time seeing her.

Sarah was testing him deep down “he’s only if I use my own wencil”she hummed and Sarah bit her lip “would you like daddy to put you to bed sweetheart?”she asked and her eyes lit up and she turned to him “would oh!?”

Ewan smiled. “Yeah, of course, Alice.” He said. “Maybe we can read a story or something too.” Ewan looked hopefully at Sarah.

Sarah smiled and Alice cheered and clapped. As they got inside she gently handed Alice to Ewan and led him to her room. It hurt that her fondest memory of him was in this room with Alice while Sarah was bed bound. Because she knew that Lydia was taking him away from her most days. And Alice has no clue.

Ewan smiled and sat on the bed next to Alice. “Alright, what do you want me to read?” He asked.

“I don’t want you read”she got under the covers and yawned “make one up for me”she asked and Sarah stayed in the doorway watching.

Ewan smiled and laughed a bit. Ewan told her a story and tucked her in, kissing her goodnight. Ewan stepped back outside the room and smiled at Sarah. “Thanks for letting me do that.” He said. “It’s really sweet.”

Sarah sighed “you passed my test in the car”she hummed “when you talked to her you didn’t mention me once and that was all I needed to tell me you would focus on her”she replied “so would you want to work out a schedule?”

Ewan grinned. “Yes, please!” He said excitedly. “Should we work on it now or do you want me to come back in a few days?” He asked.

“We can plan it now”she sat down and got her tablet to look at the calendar once they had gotten it all ready she yawned some “well thanks for the venting out I guess.”

Ewan smiled and nodded. “Of course.” He said. “I’m glad I got to see you and Alice again.”

“Well Alice is the most important thing. I come second. You come second”she sighed gently just hoping to get closer to him.

Ewan nodded. “You two come before everything else.” He agreed.

“I shouldn’t come before you we aren’t uh together”she got some water and sighed gently
