( Yeah it's fine, i've waited longer for replies on threads before tbh. & if it comes down to it i'll remake the game of thrones thread myself because I've had a pretty big hand in making it already (I know far too much lore from the books & spin-off novels & such). Afaik it was the tech version of bad paperwork, so now that it's fixed it shouldn't happen again. )
-
alright, well my post will probably be two paragraphs long (chunky paragraphs tho) just to warn you but after they get to the kingdom and start talking to the king [a time skip basically] my posts will get longer. and yeah, if you decide to remake it again just let me know and i’ll happily join it again. i still have lots of muse for game of thrones stuff atm
my dumbass had to look up what afaik to find out it means as far as i know well help me when i got to college next year cause i’m gonna need it lmao -
( I have lots of muse for game of thrones stuff & if you ever do lose muse for this thread, we can plot something with that instead?? & I spend a lot of my time on reddit, so I know a lot of abbreviations like that lol. I forget that some people don't. )
-
(i got lots of muse for just about anything atm so we can always do this thread and another thread if you’re up to it? lmao this post will be up tonight mark my words, but ahh i see. if i had really thought about it i more then likely would have figured it out
no i wouldn’t have lol -
( If you want, I'd be up for that!! Did you have any plots in mind for game of thrones stuff?? & don't stress if it's not posted tonight, it's fine. )
-
( I'm gonna just add real quick that I have multiple game of thrones based thread plots already. A couple are based on/in historical events in the series, but I can explain the context if you don't already know it.
Also i'm going to be fixing my sleeping pattern (i've been staying up until like... 3 or 4am & it's not good for me at all) so around this time is about as late as i'll be online in future, I figured i'd warn you. )
-
i personally don’t have any game of thrones plots (more like ideas and small plots? if that makes sense?) so if you have some i would love to hear them when you have time!
and yeah that’s good, staying up until 3-4 am isn’t good at all lol so glad at you’re getting your sleeping pattern back on track
-
( i've been ill today so I haven"t been able to reply. I might be able to reply tonight, because I had half of my plots typed up but if I don't, you know why. It might be better for you to post an IC post & I can post the plots I had along with my IC reply?? )
-

ooc;
yeah that works, funny i was in the process of finishing this post when you posted that but i hope you feel better! i also apologize if this posr is all over the place or doesn’t make sense lmao my next post will be a lot better!

while kustaas homeland wasn’t such a horrible place, if you liked the cold and snow that is. vikings were known to be a rather stubborn line of people, hard headed and to proud for their own good. having to own up and realizing that they needed help wasn’t something that a viking earl wanted to admit & at the same time, they were very keen on change either. when the time came around and the idea of traveling out to sea to find new land wasn’t given a great deal of thought or even a positive view either. in all honesty; it took his earl five years to finally come to a decision, many years of people pestering her as to when she would make up her mind. if kustaa had to guess, she more then likely caved into pressure & just went with what other people wanted; not so much her own thinking.. she also wanted people to still be in favor of her so kustaa figured it was also a way to boost her imagine among her people. anyway, harden shades of green and blue were locked on the prince before him, a inked covered had gripping the handle of his sword out of habit. soft sounds of viking mumbles and growls, the gentle waves of the sea crashing into the wet sand behind them & the peaceful chirp of song birds. the sun beaming overhead; warming the tattooed covered brute in and instant. days like this were what kustaa lived for; warm, sunny days where one could just lay out and not give a care in the world. he got those far and few between back home, his body constantly behind covered in thick wolf skin layers.
gingerly, kustaa turned his attention to look at his fellow vikings. he had to choose two of his men to come along with him to go and met with the king, so kustaa needed to select two that are more then likely to behave less like an animal then usual. the heavily inked commander just let his mind wonder for a short minute as he thought, he knew that his men would be very wary on separating; especially in foreign lands. but, it was either this or have knights spilling their guts all over the beach. in the back of his mind, kustaa has already chosen one person to come along with him to meet with the king; her name was thora and he heavily trusted her with his life. the middle aged warrior wasn’t known for causing unneeded trouble, she knew how to act in certain situations; which is what kustaa needed. with just a simply look in her direction, thora gracefully made her way over to his side. she had a face of beauty, but don’t let it fool you; thora was a force to be wrecked with. soon after thora came over, kustaa made eye contact with rollo, motioning him to come along with them. granted, kustaa could have chosen someone with.. less of a temper then rollo had. but, rollo has been by his side since the two were young boys and he had been the first person to agree to come along with him on this journey. anyway, as soon as thora & rollo stood beside their commander, two knights came along with horses in tow. the graceful giants snorted in protest, their long flowing manes blew in the breeze as they shook their massive heads as if they were bobbing for apples. the inked viking leader just shook his head as he stepped forward towards the massive beasts, his roughened hand gently touched the face of the beautiful tanned horse. fingers gently carassing up and down it’s long, narrow face. darken eyes soon turned into soften hues, looking into the mighty beasts eyes made kustaa seem.. a little softer. though it didn’t take long for kustaa to turn his attention towards the knights that brought them the horses, his harden expression just starring at the silver covered men. reaching out, kustaa grabbed the reins from him; it was easy to tell that the knight was simply disgusted with them. foreign words began to spill from the knights capped lips, while he couldn’t understand them; he knew they weren’t nice words. so, all kustaa did was let out a disgusting snarl towards the man, causing him to jump back slightly. a slight smirk grew on his face as he turned his attention towards the prince, tilting his head slightly to the side we are ready when you are, prince

I have three game of thrones-based plots, with only one being set in a specific time period.
Set in the Dance of Dragons. After the death of Viserys I Targaryen, civil war broke out because the Dowager Queen and the Kingsguard didn't wish to put a woman on the throne, so despite the late king's wishes, a younger brother (Aegon II) was crowned instead of Princess Rhaenyra. Rhaenyra and her sons were not eager to let this go without trying to claim their throne, and the Vale, the North and the Riverlands joined them in revolt. The country was split between Greens (who sided with King Aegon) and Blacks (who sided with Queen Rhaenyra. I'm willing to tweak details on this so that we can have original characters to fit the plot & just use the premise of an older sister being passed over for the crown.
Most of this plot isn't based on the King or Queen themselves, however. I wanted to focus on Rhaenyra's side, but Rhaenyra was absent for the early part of the war after the death of one of her younger sons - she passed all decisions to her mother-in-law Rhaenys Targaryen and her father-in-law Corlys Velaryon, and her elder sons did most of the fighting. At this point, the Targaryens still had their dragons (in fact, it's this conflict that killed most of them off) and in a bid to get more dragonriders on their side, Rhaenyra's eldest son put out word that anyone who could tame one of the five wild dragons on Dragonstone would gain wealth and titles and a place of importance on their side. My idea was to have one character be the eldest prince, and another being an unlikely dragonrider who befriends the prince during the war (probably more than that because I like forbidden love plots).
Like I said, we don't need to use the exact characters & we can probably just go with using the premise (so long as the details of the characters we create match up to a few key details from the original scenario). Also if you don't know anything about the Dance of Dragons, I can always explain anything you need to know/we can make up minor details.
This plot would essentially be following a last descendant of House Reyne, the house that were killed off by Tywin & what the song the rains of castamere is all about. I was thinking that one or two survived the massacre - exiled to essos or perhaps diplomacy with other houses took them elsewhere at the time of the killing. This plot has a far more open-ended approach because a) it could be set in a variety of time periods; right after the incident, after Tywin's death in the book/show, or in the future where the Lannisters are even weaker. Also I forgot most of my ideas from this morning
damn you, illness! So I basically just have the character idea & a broad plot idea that they would want revenge on the Lannisters and to take the Westerlands from them because they won't be safe just reclaiming their lordship. This would give us equal opportunity to give the other character a major plot as well. This plot is mainly based in Essos. An exiled westerosi noble/knight finds themselves on the wrong side of the Essosi slave trade and finds themselves bought by a wealthy slaver in one of the major cities (Lys, Pentos, Tyrosh, Volantis, etc). From here it would depend on what kind of role the other major character would take - either the slaver who bought the noble gives them as a gift to another wealthy trader (either as a bodyguard, or more of an administrative help depending on their skills) or they are given to Dothraki as an appeasement gift along with gifts of gold and jewels. Either way, I was planning for this to be a very character-based plot where the two characters come to respect each other eventually.
I think that going the Dothraki route for this plot would be more interesting? Especially if the Westerosi character is a knight - their martial skills would mean that the Dothraki could respect them and free them in return for the knight staying with the khalasar??
So I'm posting these first just in case I don't get an ic post up tonight & you can look over them anyway. Might be a bit choppy-sounding because half of it was written this morning & I couldn't remember some of the details I wanted to include when I came back to it, but it should give you a good idea of what the plots are all about anyway.

tbh i’m in love with the “a dance of dragons” and “distant lands”
they speak to metho if there is any more info about dance of dragons i should know about i would love to hear it, just so i know and don’t misinterpret the plot in case we do decide to use that onegenerally speaking i get the whole plot, it just wouldn’t hurt to know more about dance with dragons if that makes sense?? -
Okay, for the dance of dragons, I guess the essential stuff would be how it went in canon & then we can consider how to tweak that to fit our version of the characters/plot (here's a hint; it didn't go well for anyone). The major details are probably that Rhaenyra had five (i think?) sons, the oldest three were from her first marriage, but had dark hair that neither the Targaryens or Velaryons had, so many people thought they were bastard children with one of the Kingsguard closest to Rhaenyra. This was one of the arguments that was used to crown Aegon instead, as nobody wanted bastard children on the throne eventually. It's unknown if they actually were bastards, but so many people thought and said it to the point that Viserys decreed that anyone who did would have their tongue ripped out.
There was a natural rift between Rhaenyra's children and their uncles, who were from Viserys' second marriage and the youngest two were about the same age as Rhaenyra's children. They were ordered by the king to have lessons together and such to foster good bonds. Rhaenyra's sons thought that their uncles were going to steal their throne, and one of them secretly bonded with Vhagar (one of the three original Targaryen dragons) and stole that from them as well. During the war Aemond killed Rhaenyra's husband and one of her younger sons with Vhagar, and this, along with the loss of her eldest son at a battle in blackwater bay made her harsh, cold and rather cruel. This didn't win her any favours with the people, who in her younger years had called her the Realm's Delight.
Another mistake, I suppose, was the dragonseeds (they are called this because they were assumed to have a bit of valyrian blood in them somewhere in their family tree to make them capable of riding a dragon, that wasn't proven to definitively be the case). Her eldest son put out the call for dragonriders, but two of them betrayed the Blacks by burning one of the towns they held in the Reach. Nobody really knows why they did this, as they couldn't read or write and didn't have any contact with the enemy to be persuaded to betray them, but the point is that they did. Rhaenyra was so angry that she ordered the deaths of the remaining dragonseeds. One escaped, never to be seen again in Westeros, the others died fighting to prove their loyalty. In doing this, she lost her dragon number advantage, and also lost a key advisor, because one of the dragonseeds had been her Hand's bastard son.
Because of all of this, she was forced to fight Aegon II practically alone, in a dragon duel which killed both of them and their dragons. After that, Rhaenyra's only surviving son (Aegon III, also known as the Dragonbane because the last dragons died in his reign) married Aegon II's only surviving daughter (but they were both like... 10 at the time, so it was more of a betrothal), and solved the problem that caused the war by linking the two branches of the family.
Considering all of that, I think we could tweak a few things, or even just use the premise (if that's easier because I know it's a lot of names and places and things that aren't in the show) and see where that takes us?? I'll be posting ic later today, I only have time to post this before I have to get back to work for uni :/ But hopefully this is a good enough overview of it? & if you don't like this, then we can go with the other plot you liked, of course!

Leopold Edward Vogt - 28 - Prince and Lord General of Ronia
The interaction between the vikings and his own men was not lost upon Leopold, the fact that the soldier had called them 'impure' because of the markings on their skin was a sure sign that he would need someone with good authority among them to stop any fights breaking out. Sir Halden was a man of age, wisdom and experience, but he was traditional, so that wouldn't do. Sir Oswald would have a curiosity about the strangers, he imagined, and so would not be very well suited for keeping order. Putting Sir Andrej in charge in his absence would be controversial because the man was half Akelan, but in this way he might be able to understand these people more that most. The Akelans were known to be wilder than the other people of the Trios, after all. Turning his horse away from the vikings in order to address his own men, Leopold spoke in an authoritative manner and his tone would be clear to even those that didn't speak his language that his word was powerful and final. "Sir Andrej will be in charge in my absence as I take these three back to the King as emissaries of their people. You will focus your efforts on burying the dead and rebuilding the shrine in the village. If I hear of a massacre every one of you will be considered at fault, so watch the behaviours of your brothers in arms and do not allow them to do anything foolish. Sir Andrej-" he addressed the lieutenant directly, pausing as his secondary weapon from his belt. A finely made dagger, with the hilt inlaid with rubies, it was clear that this country could afford the riches they had. "-Place this on the shrine for me. Tell Lord Zelen that I apologise that we could not save his people." he said, his tone solemn and genuine. If they had just travelled faster or set out earlier, then none of this bloodshed needed to have happened, this deal could have been struck without the lives of innocents being taken. Leo considered for a moment that he shouldn't think like that, and he wouldn't have thought that way if these people had been soldiers dying for a good cause that they had sworn to uphold, instead they were common people who relied on the protection of soldiers who weren't there on time.
There were varying responses to his words, some quietly grumbling about why an Akelan had been put in charge. It was an internal issue for the Trios that the separation of their national identities caused rifts like this, and he wasn't about to try and explain two thousand years of history to these raiders if they asked. The Akelans were long thought to have been the weakest and poorest of the Trios, the closest to being who they were before the Gods unified the lands. Leopold had been there and seen their people and their customs, so he would disagree. They weren't rich in gold and gems, but their furs garnered them some wealth, and their culture was one that seemed far more interesting than his own primarily because old traditions survived. For the most part, the men trusted his judgement, whether it was out of reverence for his position as prince or a genuine trust in him as a commander he didn't know. A glance towards the sky told him that if they set off now, they would get to Dalaren by late afternoon. That was as good as they could hope for, Leopold hoped that his father didn't mind him bringing back guests, but he wasn't about to go chopping land up without the consent of the man who ruled it. Nodding an affirmation to the vikings as he urged his horse into motion. "Aurum Unit, with me!" he ordered, and a handful of the cavalry broke off to follow him. He switched back to the viking language for his next words "I hope you're good at riding, we'll have to be quick if we're to get back here before tomorrow evening." he called over to them, his mention of a time limit more his own estimation of how long the two sides could wait on the beach without getting impatient and attacking each other.
Fields of green and golden crops would rush past them, the foothills and mountains of his home were far off in the distance, marking out the horizon. A small part of his couldn't wait to see the raider's reactions to Dalaren, with its' high stone walls and bustling streets, and one of the greatest Dragonkeeps was built there, with high ceilings to accommodate the creatures and pillars and walls carved in their image.
(I was thinking that we could finish the timeskip in your post, because I don't know if you want them to have a short interaction on the way to the city??)
-
( bump? I can edit a timeskip to the city into my post if you're having trouble replying? )
-
No no there’s nothing wrong with the post, i’ve just been taking a long time to even consider making ic posts atm (spring break & plans with family & friends) just low muse & little time to make big posts
more then likely a post will be made by this friday more then likely (or thursday) sorry i’ve been taking so long lol
-
( It's fine!! I was just checking & didn't know you were on holiday. Have fun & jist reply when you can!! My 3 week holiday is after this week but I have to spend it catching up on work i've missed :c Anyway, just reply whenever you can & just asking real quick how long would you like me to leave it before I bump the thread?? I usually bump a thread after 3 days. )
-
hm, every three days wouldn’t hurt lol and ahh that sucks, hopefully you’ll catch up on work so you’ll have enough days for yourself (if that makes any sense)
tbh my replies are kinda gonna take a moment cause i’m just fucking lazy and i’ve put myself in to many damn threads that i loose track on which threads i’ve posted on
so bumping it for me will definitely help me keep track loland also the dancing dragons plot is bloody lovely <3 how you worded & how detailed it was really makes me love it even more tbh it’s super interesting c:
it might give me more muse tbh cause i’ve lost a little bit of muse for kustaa atm lmao -
That's fine, take the time you need!!
Thank you!! I knew a lot about it already, but it gave me an excuse to buy the history of the Targaryens book that i've wanted since November. Was there any ways that you wanted to tweak the original plot?? Given that we're most likely adding characters into a canon scenario, it would probably change things. & which role sounded more interesting to you?
-
Sorry for double-posting, but I can probably create a new thread at some point today for the Dance of Dragons plot so that most of the plotting stuff is over there.
