  • These sorts of things were not Kira's strong suit at all.

But, he felt as though he had a duty he had to serve to the clan. Recently his simple patrols and things had not seemed to cut it in his own heart. While he never heard complaints from his clanmates for his simple service, he had always been the type of man to be dedicated to his work and get it done efficiently, and lately he had been lacking in that aspect. Whether it was the bouts of inactivity or trying to avoid Rohan, Kira had simply not been up to par lately. So he'd decided to try his paw at an ally event.

Hosting an event for not just his clan but also their allies was quite the task, so Kira had decided to keep the activities within it in his comfort zone. There were few things he loved, but fine wine was certainly high on his list, and he was hoping he could convince others to rank it just as highly. He'd collected quite the myriad drinks so far, from deep red pinot noir to the nearly transparent pinot gris. Kira himself preferred red wine of any sort. Its color was beautiful, but its bitter taste was even more so. Still, he tried not to drink too much of it- he wasn't an alcoholic by any means, and he didn't want to be viewed as such. There was also some grape juice- both red and white -for the children to enjoy, since he assumed that their parents (should they have any) would not appreciate underage drinking under his supervision.

"Thank you all for attending," he addressed the crowd as they gathered, tail flicking. "My name is Yoshikage Kira, but please just call me Kira. As you can see, I have laid out a variety of wines (and grape juice for those who dislike alcohol) for us all to try together. I sincerely hope you find yourself at ease and have a good time." His last statement was partially true- he certainly didn't want to give anyone a bad impression of the Thunderlands. Nymeria and his other superiors worked too hard for that. But whether or not he truly cared for each individual's pleasure was not even a question- of course he didn't, especially not these strangers. But... well, who knew? Perhaps he'd find himself enjoying the event he'd prepared. God, he hoped so. He needed it.

"Feel free to drink, or not drink, at your own leisure."

/ aa excuse the crappy starter post but basically this is just a mass m&g + wine tasting! there is juice for Kiddos too ;- ) kiras at least trying to watch the wine so they dont get a hold of it, should they want to

  • It looks like he was the first one here. Oh well, it wasn't disappointing really, it just meant he got to meet everyone who came here first! The tiny black feline makes his way over, iridescent blue gaze focusing on Kira through his eyeglasses. "Zhank you for velcoming zhe Copse to your little party, Yoshikage! It vill be a pleasure to reconnect vith zhe Zhunderlands! I miss my old friends from here very dearly." The child slides over a little glass of wine for himself, swirling the glass around before taking a little sip as it were intended. And, yes, of course he'd deliberately called Kira by his first name, just for the vague coldness he'd shown in his invitation. It was all harmless fun for the doctor anyways. "I trust you've busied yourself vith all zhose invites you've had to send, no? Zhe Zhunderlands has tons of allies, as far as I am concerned, hm?"

  • WHAT AN UGLY WAY TO LIVE — It was going to be awkward for a six thousand pound, fifteen foot tall wyvern to try and taste wine but he was here nonetheless to make sure none of these Thunderlanders or anyone else tried to act funny with any of the Copsers when they arrived. The massive creature of pure black midnight with four eyes that seemingly crackled with electricity and burned with hellfire followed after Magi like an obedient dog would their owner, head low and forked tongue slithering out to taste the air as he stalked forward. Being a wyvern whose hands were his wings, he doesn't think he could quite hold cups of wine as perhaps intended but, then again, he really wasn't there to drink anyways. So, the Japanese wyvern sat and tucked his clawed hands close to his stomach and eyed Kira and Magi as they interacted with vague curiosity and wariness. "I'm... Akuma." He would generally introduce himself to those present but those would likely be the only English words he would speak for the rest of the evening.

  • Julian had heard along the- excuse the pun- grapevine about this event, and was rather excited. Trust Kira to come up with something so sophisticated; it had caught Julian off guard, though he was certainly not upset about the event. He wasn't planning on getting hammered (and he doubted that Kira would let him, anyway), but really any alcohol was good alcohol- so, with a jovial demeanour about him, Julian would approach, nose twitching curiously upon sensing scents he had not detected before. "Good for you to come, Akuma and... other one," he murmured, nodding his head with a relaxed smile spread across his maw, strangely-hued eyes half-lidded as they often were. The male would then turn his gaze to Kira, and offer the feline a curt nod of acknowledgement, smile still playing on his lips. "Great job with this, man. Looks great."

  • TAGS // "I KNOW THAT I DID YOU WRONG" -- Sky was the next to appear, the blond wolf having come back from another one of his strolls throughout the territory. He, of course, had already been aware that Kira was hosting a wine-tasting sort of event for their allies. Perhaps this would help everyone loosen up. He wasn't really in the mood for alcohol, but wine was better for him than, say, beer or any other heavier product. Nodding to Kira as the wolf approached, Sky decided it would be best to just mingle for now. Maybe meet some new people. Approaching Magi, the wolf would respond, "We have nine total, so I suppose this could get quite crowded quickly depending on how many people come. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. Name's Sky. I'm the vice-leader."

  • Irritation rose in his legs as Magi called him by his first name. It was highly disrespectful, but in all honesty, he didn't know why he'd mentioned it in the first place. It was his own mistake. Many things were.

"Of course," he answered coolly despite his frustration, staring as the child-bodied man sipped his wine. It made Kira vaguely uncomfortable, still. Children shouldn't be allowed to have alcohol, but apparently this one assisted in leading a whole clan. He seemed to at least be spiritually older than he looked, but there were mature kids. Kira had been a mature kid. He wasn't sure that was something that would let him drink. But Magi had said he could stomach it when he'd invited them, so Kira said nothing.

"It was quite the trip," he confirmed finally, pouring himself a glass of some sort of merlot and sipping it idly. "But maintaining a good relationship with one's allies is always important."

Of course, he was rather impersonal when it came to forming true bonds with others within the clans the Thunderlands befriended. Kira didn't care much for strangers. But the blonde tabby knew the importance of allies, especially when it came to assistance in battle, or resources during hard times. They were necessary evils. And, truly, allies weren't evils in the first place, but things could become complicated messes when battle ensued. Not to mention upkeep was laborious.

His gaze tilted upwards to the massive dragon. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Akuma," he called up to him. His size left Kira awestruck. His train of thought derailed for a moment.

However, the train got back on track again as Julian and Sky arrived. Good- his clanmates were people he could feel comfortable around, even if he wasn't sure how to feel about them. Still, their appearance here eased his nerves, and he offered them a smile. It was genuine. He wasn't sure how. His attention first directed itself to Julian, however, the compliment grabbing his attention.

"Why thank you," he purred, gazing contentedly over the scene. Not many had yet arrived, but he was still rather impressed with himself. Anything to fuel his ego was always welcome, but now especially so. "It certainly wasn't easy. But I think it paid off."

His gaze flicked back to his friend (if he wanted to call Julian that- he still wasn't sure). A fictitious brow had risen in question, though his demeanor remained suave, almost velvety. "Can I get you a drink?"

He then nodded his acknowledgement to Sky, but it looked like the Vice-Leader had quickly become busied with meeting some of the others, so he said nothing.

  • Ladon had felt hesitant to approch this event, not good with crowds neither had he even tasted alcohol before, or been much around it for that matter. All he know was that drinking to much made you not act like yourself. It was something he not really understood but he had also never taken apart in a party or any social event for that matter. In fact he felt very...out of place just being here. It was very unlikely he would stick around for long but had convinced himself to at least show his face around for a little bit. Admittedly he did was curious over what Kira had organized especially since he never had taken part in something similliar like this before but knew this sort of events where quite popular for the adults to take part of. Ladon had never been able to cherish his childhood much or his teenage for that matter so...wanted to at least not miss out on his adulthood as well...He was still young and many would probably tell him he needed to live a bit more... Ladon did wanted to do that but wasn't sure how he was supposed to do it... Ladon had lived in fear for to long that he had grown comfortable with his little bubble of safety which included him staying away from all and everything that could harm him.

With a slight sign to himself the border collie would approch one of the tables to lift one of the glassess up with this liquer inside also called for alcohol to sniff it. Just the smell of it made the canine frown in distaste. It smelled just awful how could anyone even drink that?. Ladon narrowed his orbs at himself staring down at that glass of alcohol with suspection not all to sure if he wanted or even could bring himself to taste something like this. Was this really what adults prefered to do on thier freetime?. Ah...he would much rather be in his room right now, reading a book or working on some of his medicin. This just didn't felt like him.

  • Zeppelin couldn't remember if he had visited the Thunderlands before. Well, he knew he had to when he was settling up the alliance issues in Valhalla, but other than that? He couldn't remember. He had some much running around to do as of late, he was lucky he could remember his own name. He nodded to a few Copsers he had met in passing as he arrived alongside them (and h was silently grateful that Champagne didn't seem to be tagging along), and then his head lifted to the one who had given out the invitation. "Thank you on behalf of Valhalla for the invitation, Kira," said the High King with a polite dip of his head. Green eyes surveyed the lineup of drinks that had been provided, wondering where he should begin.

  • — He had never touched a drop of alcohol in his life, not him or not even his own mother. She had been more of a traditionalist, after all, and the only refreshment he had ever tasted was water ( and his mother's milk, of course, though he hardly remembered it ). He noticed that people ate and drank a lot of foreign things, and he was curious as to what they were.

The young wolf had decided on attending this "ally event", having been told that lots of people from other clans would be there. He figured that it would be fun for him; maybe he could make new friends.

Gabriel wandered up, curious amber optics surveying the assortment of beverages and such, which were all unknown to him. He blinked slowly and glanced up towards Julian and Sky, the two he trusted the most to answer, "What's wine?" He was genuinely curious. It smelled strongly, and not too pleasant, but maybe he just needed to try it first.

  • The abundance of unfamiliar smells that dared mar his homeland was unsettling. So far, foreign allies seemed few and far between, yet with every ally event that Thunderlands hosted came the chance of coming face to face with unwelcome enemies. Of course, he wouldn't be so crude as to be an instigator at a peaceful show of good faith, and as hypocritical as his stance may have been (true pacifism towards the undeserving would be just staying inside his treehouse), it was one he chose to stuck with as he approached the bustling scene. There was a little limp in his step, a side effect of pacing back and forth all day waiting for something to happen. Was he remotely thrilled that this was that thing to do? Eh, he supposed, though the pungency of the alcohol stung both his nose and his morale to socialise, it surely wouldn't hurt to attempt to assimilate back into clan life. "It's a drink made from stuff like grapes. It makes you super dizzy and irresponsible," he answered the whelp, though it was clear Gabriel had not been addressing him. The fountain of useless knowledge couldn't help it, even if describing the dastardly drink brought back memories of... vampires?

Ugh, his world crumbling was both the best and worst thing to happen. Passing over the grape juice as well, Feliks would settle in by himself away from the bitter condiments, only growing more comfortable with the situation once he stopped breathing through his nose. Mouth agape with a tongue lolling from it, Feliks would begin to smirk, stating "Name's Feliks for those who don't know, pity those who think this is new information,". A not so modest paw was placed to his chest, trying his hardest to imitate how a bipedal would bow (though on his sore haunches Feliks wouldn't dare try walking like a bird). "Welcome to Valhalla and uh..." what clan was the pussycat from? The lupine had never bothered with 'small fries' as he called them, though he was an eternal fan of their loyalty and hospitality there was nothing that could pique his political interest. He tried to recite what Magi had said through some mental gymnastics. "Copse. Yeah, that'll do. Hope you lot enjoy, don't have too much fun with the drinks,". Ugh, he felt so out of place, he could't even make jokes because he didn't know anything about the attending clans. Slinking his shoulders, the 5 year old would brood quietly about his lack of knowledge.

  • ❝ YOU CAN BE COOL, YOU CAN BE SHY ❞

Ada would be the next to appear, following in after Zeppelin. She had never been to this part of Agrelos, or at least to the Thunderlands territory. But wine tasting? God she needed some wine right about now. If she could have drunk wine like it was water, she absolutely would have. Nodding her head to some of those who came up to her--including those with lustful looks in their eyes--the panther swiped her tail and moved over to where the alcohol was kept. Taking a sip from a glass, the feline smacked her lips and let the taste settle on her tongue. This one was quite good. A red wine; fruity, heavy, but with something of a kick to it. Interesting. "Hmm. Quality product," she murmured absently.

❝ SAY WHAT YOU WANT, SAY WHAT YOU LIKE ❞

  • Aslan trotted after Zeppelin, sticking to the Valhallan High King like glue. He had yet to truly venture off of the marshland territory, and to be surrounded by so many strangers was a little daunting. But here he was. He wanted to meet people. He had done it before, in another ally event, where he had met some people from the Shadow Veil, if he recalled correctly. And now it was time to meet some others. Sniffing the air, the scent of alcohol filled his nostrils and he sneezed in a comedic fashion. Guess he wouldn't be tasting any of that anytime soon, at least if Zeppelin or any other well-minded adult could help it.

  • Hard liquor was more her taste but finding a good bottle these days wasn’t rare. Especially since no one in the rogues ever wanted to join in on her festivities. She wasn’t adamant on drinking alone ever again, if she could get company she would. Wine was an acquired taste, and she in all honesty disliked the flavor as it slipped passed her tongue and down her throat from her glass. It was pungent and rich, the texture thicker than most. Like drinking dirty blood. She’d grimace but would continue to drink, downing her glass as if it was a quick shot rather than a drink to be enjoyed. Ver wasn’t the type for these kind of upper-society affairs. It was too classy for her. She was just looking to get at the very least; buzzed.

Her tongue would swipe over her lips and she’d place the empty drink down. Eyeing the crowd surrounding the man who’d hosted this before finding someone sitting alone instead. Ver wasn’t one for crowds so she made her way towards Ada. She smelled vaguely of bamboo and Ver wasn’t all to sure where she hailed from. She’d heard of the dynasty before but really hadn’t met or conversed with too many of its inhabitants. ”That it is” the Solarian commented, sitting close by to the other woman. ”I’m surprised they had this all here all this time. I’ve been dry for weeks” she’d go on, feeling just as talkative as she normally did.

  • ❝ LONE DIGGER ❞ Lately it seemed she'd been surrounded by the offering of alcohol, the beverage just begging to get it's slimy hands all over her — which she didn't mind at all. Alcohol was a fine substance to relax the tension that had slowly built up as newly promoted leader, but the albino was a bit of a lightweight. She would rather drink alone or among those she trusted (which currently consisted of zero people) rather than in front of allies, but she was already present. The least Lovescars could do was catch a buzz before going back home.

Volary Flights wasn't the liveliest of clans around, so she made it her personal job to attend every party the quiet group received an invitatioin to, even if she wasn't exactly a people-person. It was the least she could do to show her allies they weren't dead. "Ze Flights is grateful for ze invitation, too." The Crowned Eagle added after Adishroh, a soft smile gracing her features though it wasn't very genuine. She wanted out, that much was obvious.

Lovescars was happy to catch sight of Kira, however, having arrived shortly after his opening speech and failing to catch his words. He did mention he'd try his best to save her something, perhaps he did? She didn't want to bother the tabby considering he was actively conversing with others, so she took it upon herself to browse the variety of wines he had in stock. Ah, Merlot. That rung enough of a bell for the French vulpine. She poured the drink into a fragile glass before lifting the cup in the air and taking a swig per use of her telekinesis. It was dry and the taste didn't sit well on her tongue, but it wasn't too bad. Love rose her brows with a shrug, opting for another sip. "Could be worse." She mused.

  • His regal purple gaze frisked over the crowd that had amassed. He was pretty impressed with himself now- his nerves were melting as the first tastes of alcohol washed over them, but also with the restored sense of confidence that the turnout had given him. In all honesty, he wasn't sure why he had been nervous in the first place- yes, he was representing the Thunderlands and he wanted to make a good impression, but why did he even care about their reputation? It wasn't as though he held anyone here in close regard. If he got kicked out, what did it matter?

And yet, he still tried his hardest.

He noted that Ladon held the wine as though it were a dead animal. Was he not a drinker? He supposed it wasn't unexpected from the collie- he was, after all, very youthful in his ideals, it seemed.
"Perhaps you'd prefer the grape juice," he suggested, and for once there was not a hint of contempt in his voice. He seemed to genuinely be interested in helping the physician in having a good time. But, who knew? Maybe he'd leave anyway. Kira supposed it didn't make a difference to him personally, as long as he made himself look good.

And then a familiar face called out to him- Zeppelin, had it been? He'd seen the guy in a couple different clans, which was interesting. Kira hadn't been aware that people could have multiple places of residence like that. Unless he'd simply moved his home in the time that he'd taken to travel from clan to clan, but... that seemed unlikely. Either way, it didn't matter. He noted the boy hanging off of him like a designer tote, but it seemed that the kid wasn't interested in much besides Zeppelin, so Kira didn't mention it.

"Oh, think nothing of it," he responded jovially, "I'm just happy that you came." Hm. He could get used to this, really- the recognition really boosted his already inflated ego. Fortunately, he tried to keep himself in check when it came to that sort of thing, especially in situations like these, but... well, he should probably limit his own drinks. He was, after all, representing his clan.

Gabriel and Feliks's banter passed over him as he mingled, trying to find anyone looking glum that he could cheer up, or offer a drink recommendation to. He would've offered a glass to Feliks himself had the wolf not spoken with such vehement opposition about it. Perhaps that was an exaggeration, but either way, the wolf seemed to have an aversion. Which was fine, really. There was grape juice for him to enjoy. Kira's ears twitched as he noted the old man sticking to himself. It was unusual behavior, but unfortunately, the tabby had little attention to spare at the moment. Hopefully he'd find a way to integrate himself more effectively soon.

Kira then milled about some more, drifting from conversation to conversation, offering wines here and there. It was honestly pretty fun- he felt like he could offer some decent selections, at least. It was one of the few things he felt truly useful for. Sophisticated taste.

"I've been collecting it for a long time now," he answered Ver. He hoped that he didn't sound condescending- that wasn't the impression he wished to give. "Much of it comes from my old place of residence, but unfortunately, I believe the winery there has closed since." That was a lie. He simply couldn't go back, but that was a door into his past that he would not allow open. At least, not in front of these people. He had things to do.

A familiar face called out to him and he answered her swiftly- something about how it was his pleasure -but he was a tad distracted. The golden tabby made his way fluidly to the newest arrival, the French girl he'd met at the border of the Volary Flights' territory. Her expression, at least at first, caused a slight stir in his stomach- did she want to leave before she even got the chance to enjoy herself? Hopefully not. He had, after all, saved her a bottle.

"Of course," he answered courteously. He was whisked away again by clumps of folks arriving, but there was something else he was after. Soon, the blonde tabby made it back in time to catch her flat statement.

"Could be better, too," he murmured, in good humor. Merlot hadn't been the kind that he'd expected from the vulpine, but he supposed he should never judge a book by its cover. Magi had been a good example of that. "I managed to keep a bottle I think you should try. Of course, I'm not quite familiar with your tastes...." He revealed a bottle of rose-pink liquid encased in thick glass. It filtered the dimming golden light quite nicely through its contents, leaving a red shadow on the ground. It was a sweet wine, though it wasn't at all like the rest of the rose variety. "This one is called white zinfandel. If you don't like it, let me know- we'll find something else for you."

/ omg sorry this is so long

  • ❝ LONE DIGGER ❞ The isolated fox hadn't really expected anybody to come forth and converse with her. Perhaps her smile had been too inviting, she was told she had a really gentle smile for someone with a sharp expression. Nevertheless, she couldn't help the relief that washed over her when Kira came by to greet her. Perhaps she didn't really want to be alone deep down inside.

She hummed with acknowledgement at his initial remark and then he was gone, taken by the sea of unfamiliar faces without so much as a pause. It was rather admirable, the way he took his time speaking individually to his guests. Couldn't be her. She was lucky Laureat vouched to handle most of the ally events because she couldn't promise she'd be the perfect hostess. A disappointed frown fixed itself upon her features in his absence. She rather did enjoy his company, and as luck would have it, he was back within the blink of an eye, this time conjuring a pink bottle before him as promised back at the border of the Flights. Her face lit up happily like a candle, but she took care to maintain her cool composure.

Lovescars gently took the bottle from his grasp, downing her glass simultaneously before removing the cork and refilling her dish. "White zinfandel?" She repeated, testing the name on her tongue. "Fancy. I'm not really familiar wiz wine, so your guess is better zan mine." The fox reassured, swirling the glass around a couple times. Truly, she wasn't that big into liquor, but his abundance of knowledge in the subject was something she could respect. It put him on her good side without a doubt. Perhaps she should get into wine tasting.

The Crowned Eagle brought the glass to her lips, tipping it back in the slightest and allowing the pretty rose-pink liquid to wash over her tongue. Her ears perked up at the taste. It was very sweet, definitely a nice flavor in contrast to the dry Merlot. "Mmm! Zat does taste much better." Lovescars chirped in agreement, a dazzle igniting her void gaze. She really was enjoying herself. "How do you know so much about wine?" She inquired, appearing rather interested. She always did have a naturally unquenchable thirst for knowledge — even for the little things that didn't matter too much.

Turning to Ver Million, the panther would regard her cooly. She never liked playing her cards in advance. But Ver Million seemed to want to chat, and so Ada would enlighten her. To a degree. "I'll agree, I didn't expect the Thunderlands of all places to be hoarding the good wines. They could get some kind of business booming with that investment." The panther took another sip, mulling over the idea. If the Thunderlands were smart they would pick up the opportunity before it ran off with someone else present.
