  • Hera wasn't really close to a lot of her siblings. Except for Irene of course, they were close. But lately, she felt herself being happy that all of her siblings were around. Clove and Prim were around, as they were inseparable. But Hera hoped that she would be able to find someone that she could be close to like Clove and Prim. Today, Hera decided that she was going to sunbath, wondering who was going to show up. She had no idea if anyone was going to come over.

  • "You trying to warm up, or to fry?"

The ghost of a smile was on Capricorn's face as they padded over to Hera, yellow-green eyes glancing over her. He knew that some people were more accustomed to the heat of the territory than others, but sometimes the sunlight was just plain unsafe, especially during the day. The catsune's three tails flicked to and fro idly. "I mean, not that I'd judge either way. But it is awfully hot out here."

  • Hera had her eyes closed the entire time, so she didn't see Capricorn walking up. She didn't know that they were even back. She had no idea that they were in Solaris Kingdom. "Well, i think I'm just trying to warm up. It's strange seeing you out here, Cap. What're you doing out here?" Cap was her young siblings, so of course she was worried about them. She had not been close to a lot of her siblings. Hera was not close to her older siblings, Hayliel and Liquidgold.

  • Capricorn hummed and casually shrugged their shoulders in response. It was true that they hadn't seen Hera since their return, but that was mostly because they hadn't gone out looking for her. They figured that plenty of Arcaniums were living here again, so it'd be too tiring to try and find all of them one by one to announce their return. "All roads lead to Rome, I guess," he replied. He figured that his life was going to drag him back here eventually, even if there had been times where he adamantly refused to return to Solaris-- or SunClan as he knew it. "It's weird being back."

  • There was only a few siblings that knew Hera was back. Prim and Clove were the only ones who knew. But it was strange bumping into Capricorn. She hadn't seen them since they were both so very young. But Hera was no an adult, was depending on herself. But here she was, laying in front of her sibling. "You're telling me. I was off on my own for awhile there. I hadn't thought about coming back to Solaris Kingdom in awhile. Before I left, I managed to find my sister, Irene. But I haven't seen her since." She had wondered what brought Capricorn back. "What brought you back here?"

  • //no worries <33

Capricorn nodded along quietly. "I wandered around for a while too." They let out a breathy chuckle, slightly awkward, but mostly amused. "Hell, I had sworn to myself that I was never coming back here. Swore to a life of solitude." They thought back. Why had they come back? It wasn't out of homesickness, or curiosity, or a desire to know how his siblings were doing. No... It was something a little deeper seated than that. "I guess I wanted to feel like part of a family again. I think I took it for granted before I left, before the world changed..." They sighed. "Didn't expect to be living in someone's shadow as soon as I got back. Thought I'd be as regarded as we were when we were born, you know? We were born royalty."

  • It appeared that they had left the clan. Solaris kingdom. This place had been the home of many of Hera's siblings. But it appeared that Hera wasn't the only one who left. But when they spoke about why they came back, hera realized that she had no idea what even brought her back. "I understand what you mean. I don't even know why I came back. This place, it's not the same from when we were kids." But what did they mean by living in someone's shadow. Could they mean their father? Hera was not here when their father died. She had been seeking other means of her life. But they were right about something. They were born royalty, whether they liked it or not. She shrugged her shoulders.

  • When it came to living in someone else's shadow, Cap felt constantly overshadowed by the likes of Prim and Clove, especially the former. The new head and heiress of the family, respectively, and already well respected in the Kingdom by the time Capricorn had decided to make their not-so-dramatic return to the face of the planet. It was okay, not being in the spotlight all the time, since being that way often drew plenty of negative attention, but at the same time... They were older. They were supposed to be the big sibling, the one everyone looked up to, the hero. Not the one being rescued from the Exiles by their little sister in the form of a dragon. "You can say that again," they muttered. "Not a single thing feels the same. Not even the people I knew back then feel the same."

  • Hera knew that she lived under Prim and Clove's shadow. When everyone thought about the Arcanium Family, they always thought about Prim and Clove. They were the former's and his wife's children. Sure, she love her younger siblings. But she couldn't help but feel a little unhappy. She felt as thought she was not apart of the family. "I'm trying to imagine what really caused things to change here."

  • So it would seem that Cap and Hera were on the same page. Both were older than the most prominent members of the family, products of relationships that were discarded in favor of Suga's love for Sarangerel. And thus, the offspring of that pairing were given the priority, the extra love, the seats on the throne, while Capricorn and Hera were left in the dust. Maybe that was why they left the Clan. What was the use of not being first choice, or even second choice? Hell, god forbid if something happened to Primerys or Clove (Capricorn would never wish any harm upon either of them, but hypothetically), another child of Sugaredsun and Sarangerel would probably be the one to take their newly vacated place. "I don't even want to think about it," they mumbled. "Makes my head hurt."

  • Hera knew that their father had favored his kids of his wife. They had spent their time together, so she had no idea if Suga had actually cared about his older kids. She was unfamiliar with the other kids, as she was familiar with her young siblings. Sure, Suga loved all of his children, she was sure. But he favored the litter he had with his wife. It was why his youngest kids were the heir and the head of the family. It was the only explaintion she had. "I have to agree with you. It's too much to think about." She knew that she had to move on from the fact that she was never going to amount much to the family. She was apart of it, but that was it.
