The ever increasing sounds of heavy sounding footsteps were the first coming sign to the people that awaited news of the ever awaited chance to finally rid their land of the dreaded 'Demon' who has plagued their forest and has prevented them from obtaining any sorts of goods, from deer to simple berries, and has taken many of lives with it's foul claws and teeth. The Royal Family that controlled the land had heard their plea and had sent envoys to scout and capture the beast in question and have even been there in person for the first in a very long time, to simply bask their eyes on this anomaly that has appeared in their territory and see for themselves how fearsome such a beast this was. They've heard the rumors and have seen the very acts that have been done long before the news ever reached them prior to those incidents, and they've indeed been grisly with how inhumane and violent the splatters had been, almost as if the creature had ripped the prey piece by piece in a frenzied and animal-like manner befitting it's name, and always from what has been seen, the chest cavity was the first torn open and most of the time, the heart looks like it had been torn off and likely used as food. No one knows why such a brutal act upon another would be done, even by a creature such as this, but some of the more higher knowledgeable plane suggested that beings such as this believe that one such part of the body brought upon more and more power and it was said that those of higher rank and power allowed those who consumed their source of life to become close to immortal in both strength and body.

No one knew much of the origins of such a creature besides the fact that had been years ago that the first ever brutal event happened and at the time, wolves were blamed for the most part as they were a common danger in local life for both them and the ever common hunters that lived here or came from faraway lands to get pelts and furs along with meats to sell to make some decent coin. But soon or later, reports of seeing something white and ethereal yet human in nature began to spread, but those were at first consider tales of children or those stricken with madness, yet soon the causalities increased more and more to the point that people moved to other villages and a lot of the time, the forest was left alone and most avoided it all together besides a few of those that did not heed the tales or knew of the previous victims. Some witnesses called the demon beautiful in a sense if not for the violent nature that it seemed to posses and the crimson that seemed to stricken it's flesh and hair every time one were to catch a fleeting glimpse at such a being, though the fact that those who have seen it are still alive was a miracle in itself.

Finally, the glint of silver-armored knights appear from the forest, the sun making them look more like saviors than normal Humans to those of the Village as they see the white-haired monster chained from head to toe, it's mouth sealed with a man-made mouth guard to prevent it from attacking any of them whilst it was brought over to them. They could now see the depraved and scarred state of the monster before them, marks left by the previous victims adorn it's body here and there in slight pink scars, some barely noticeable than others, and no one could not notice the awful scent of metal that seemed to assault the air as soon as the creature was only a couple steps from them. The creature clearly was agitated as it thrashed about the chains, much in vain and one could hear the inhumane snarls and growls that were muffled behind the guard that was the only safety measure preventing them from getting torn apart. One could say that this creature looked remotely human but when spotting the horns, the elongated nails on both of it's hands and feet, it was easy to tell it was not of this world. Splatters of old rusted red were ever present on it's clothing, though one could clearly see that the clothes upon it were nothing more but remnants of past victims that were used a means on both ends, to provide nourishment and to provide free warmth.

Slowly the creature was pushed to the ground by one of the Knights, putting into a kneeling position in front of the Royal Family as to allow them a better look at the monster that has been the cause of their troubles and with that, the thing in question could only glare up with pure maliciousness that befitting an animal more than a Human with emotions and thoughts, though no one knew whether or not the being was even capable of hatred or even spite for that matter as the creature seemed to be more like a caged beast than a malicious monster brought down upon them or a demon for that matter. With that the judgement of such a creature was about to begin...

  • That's fine, take as long as you need. I was kind of losing hope that this would get anyone's interest actually, so this makes me happy.

  • Among the waiting villagers stood the Royal Family. While the rest of the village were apprehensive or angry, the Family seemed completely calm and collected. They'd heard of the problems the village had, but they'd never expected it to be something like this. When they'd first heard about the 'Demon' plaguing the town, the Queen had insisted it was just an myth, and that it was probably an animal. But overtime, the problem had grown too big to ignore. The King himself decided they'd go and get rid of the problem themselves; if they didn't, it could started to move to the rest of the kingdom.

William stood to the left of his father, only just managing to keep a straight face. There were many different thoughts going through his head, most focused on what the Demon could be. The villagers hadn't been able to give a clear description of what it looked like, and that only left his imagination to wander. He wished he or one of his sisters could say something to lighten the mood, but they all knew they couldn't speak out of turn.

Suddenly, the air tensed as the knights returned, bringing the creature with them. His youngest sister moved back in fright, and the other's face twisted in disgust as she looked at it. However, William was just surprised, maybe eve a bit relieved. "He looks so...human" he said quietly, without even thinking. Of course, there were differences, but it wasn't as bad as what he'd imagined. He looked to his father, but found no reaction from him, at least nothing obvious. His sister, however, openly scoffed. "Are you blind? That thing is hideous" she said, not taking hr eyes off the Demon, "get rid of it father, it'd be better for everyone."

"I've never seen a creature so full of hate" his mother commented, so quietly that she almost wasn't heard. William frowned a bit, only now looking to the rest of his family. "What did you expect? We just attacked him and brought him here against his will. Anyone would be angry!" He glanced back at the so called 'Demon', trying to think through this. He seemed more animal-like than anything, which was concerning. He might have just been scared; plenty of animals would attack out of fear. It was pitiful, and he couldn't let them kill someone like this, not when he might have the potential to be better than this.

His sister huffed and turned towards the King. "Father, what do you think" she said "don't you think it'd be better to get rid of something that caused so much tragedy? Something that killed so many of our people should be punished accordingly." William felt worry grow inside of him, and acted quickly. He stepped in front of his father, placing himself between the King and the Demon. "We don't have to kill him" he said quickly, almost pleading "can't we at least try to tame him? If we teach him our ways, and what's right and wrong, he could be a considerable ally."

//Sorry if this isn't the best. Feel free to tell me if you'd like me to change or correct anything. And sorry this took longer than expected; work and school messed up my schedule

  • ((No, no, it's completely fine. I understand and you don't have to change anything.))

The Demon, at it was called by the people and despite what they would say of it, it had a fairly good concept of the language happening around him, even if it was bits and pieces since most of the conversations he heard were before he had strike down most of the trespassers of the woods behind him. He had thought, with instincts, that he was to immediately be killed on site like he had no reason to exist in this world, and maybe they were right, he had no clear memory of how he came to be here and why he was who he was, and sadly he never could remember anything, not even a word to put to his existence that separated from others but the word did not come to mind at the moment...

Clearly there was some kind of agitation in the air, being in the woods, one can easily sense such when the air would become still and the animals would follow suit, but this was between what could be considered those who had been made to people to either kill him or let him live. Though he believed the later was never a case for most Humans, once one saw a wolf, they would immediately shoot it with some kind of weapon till it was no longer breathing and the crimson that always stained him would leak from it's body onto the forest floor. It was those types that he hated and would ravage as soon as they let their guard down, and of course he never wasted such an opportunity, hunger was always an issue and it seemed whatever he was preferred meat than anything else.

Going back to what was happening right now, he could only look upon what was clearly the only young Male of the four and he could clearly see that he was trying to 'do' something about the situation but what that was the question, he had no reason to try to stall this, unless he was one of those that wanted him dead, he wouldn't blame yet he would not go down easily, even whilst chained, his blood was running wildly throughout his body telling him to run rampant like a beast and to make everyone pay for taking him away from his home and to think that they could rid of the only life he knew. Letting out a loud guttural growl, that was more befitting for a bear if one were around, he suddenly knocked the knights that were holding him with ease.

Strength was a given in the wild, those without it died easily and could never be a match for Humans but he was different, he prevailed over them and he had to in order to protect his home from unwanted attention. Those were his prey that they were taking away from him, from wolves to deer, he needed it to survive and to continue to the thrive and yet they walk in like everything was theirs since the beginning. His blood was on fire now and he needed to calm it down, he needed to get some out of him and while he was at it, escape.

Looking upon the Male he had been watching prior, he walked towards him, the knights now long and forgotten as they are left dazed on the ground and villagers were all pathetically frightened as they tried to stay clear of the Demon that was now heading towards the Royal Family, even if it was chained, that did not mean it was not dangerous. Even the Demon himself, knew that and yet he could tell that the Boy had no will to fight so he would be the easiest to pick off first, but why did that thought seem so cruel to him now?

  • Their father had yet to respond to either of them, which clearly angered the princess. She thought it was obvious that her decision was the right one. She opened her mouth to add more to her argument, but she was suddenly silent, her eyes wide with fear. She and the rest of the village stared behind William, and he couldn't help the fear and worry that welled up inside of him. He couldn't see what happened, but the sound of commotion behind him added with screams from village women told him it wasn't good. He quickly turned around and his eyes widened in shock when he saw the Demon free, and walking towards him.

He knew this wasn't good; he wasn't that naive. A caged animal would either flee or attack when they were free, and he wasn't running away. But William couldn't get himself to move, despite all his senses telling him to run. "No, please, you don't have to do this" he said, his voice shaking. He wasn't sure if the other understood him, but it was all he could try at the moment. He didn't want to do anything that might cause him to lash out. "I won't let them kill you. Please...."

The rest of his family had other plans. His mother and sisters were quick to move behind the King, watching in fear. The youngest was crying out of fear, and the other two couldn't take their eyes away. The King was quick to act, and grabbed the hilt of the sword on his belt. It was a family heirloom, usually only for decoration purposes. It was worn as a show of power, but rarely used. But now, the King didn't hesitate to pull it out of its sheath.

William froze at the sound, and quickly turned to look at him. "Father, don't" he yelled quickly, putting a hand up to try to stop him. There was no doubt that the Demon recognized weapons like that, and he knew it wouldn't end well for any of them.

  • Whilst the Demon's knowledge of words and language were limited, he could very well understand the words 'won't, 'kill', and 'you' coming from the Male in front of him, and with those simple words, he seemed to stop for a minute there and his posture changed a slight bit from an enraged animal to a questionable curious one as his muscles slackened only a little bit and his pupils relaxed a little from their dilated state. He was more confused than anything as most people were either afraid of him to a point of wanting him dead right there and then, yet this one was telling him that he won't kill him, so did that mean he was trying to get him out of this alive?

He knew the Human in front of him was afraid yet he stood his ground and was not trying to attack him, most would of done so at this point as he had the scars littering his body to prove such a fact, it was in their nature to hurt those which they couldn't understand and he, in turn, did so himself. Unable to comprehend their language or their lifestyle, he had stayed isolated in hopes of survival and to protect himself from the hatred of those that he had no clue of and he had wanted it to stay that way for a long time to come, for as long as he lived. Yet, was this one trying to understand him in some way? It was difficult for him to understand after all he has been through and he couldn't stop his head from tilting to the side, confusion ever present on his features.

But that lasted only for a moment for his ears picked up the slight sound of movement, and the slight sound only metal could make when it was brought out of it's hiding place, and with that his posture immediately returned to that of anger. He instinctively lower his head down to show off the silver horns that adorned the top of his head, curved out enough to be able to inflict some damage if used to ram against another, even without his claws and teeth, he was still capable of fighting back. Letting out a muffled huff, he glared at the King with icy cold blue eyes that stood among the white strands of hair that cascaded down his face as soon as he lowered his head, he was daring him to make a move to attack.

Like a Male deer ready to attack an oncoming threat, he backed away a bit and took a lower position as if getting ready to charge if the moment presented itself in front of him, his survival instinct taking over as this was a kill or be killed moment and he surely wasn't going down without a fight. Even if he promised death to those behind the Male, he did not know what to think of him as there was a part of him that wanted to trust the Human and another that was still scarred from his experiences with them in past. But he would not hurt him now, or maybe not at all, for he was not a threat at the moment and he would not attack those who dare not to attack him back, for a fight was not worth starting if the other was not willing to start it for then it would be a worthless endeavor and injures would be sustained either way, but they would be more naught.

  • William glanced back at the Demon behind him, growing more afraid as tension rose in the air. His father had taken a defensive stance, and they both looked ready to attack at any moment. He couldn't let this happen. If they fought, one or even both of them would die. He couldn't lose his father, but it still seemed wrong to kill the Demon. Even if it had just been for a moment, William had seen some sort of comprehension from him. There was something there, some sort of humanity.

Without thinking, William threw himself directly between the two of them, looking towards his father. He knew what he was doing was crazy, and that he was putting a lot of trust into the Demon, but it was all he could think to do. He had to stop this before the worst happened. His father glared at him, clearly not amused. "William, move" he said, his voice low and firm. He looked behind his son at the creature, not daring to take his eyes off of it for a second.

"No" the prince said quickly, his voice as firm as he could make it at the moment. He rarely ever talked back to his father like this, but there was no choice. "We don't have to kill him. He could have attacked me then, but he didn't." His father's glare became harder, but he didn't look back at his son. He knew better than to take his eyes off of something ready to charge. "One life spared is nothing compared to what its taken" his father spoke, his voice and stance unwavering "it's a danger to our people, and I won't let it continue to threaten us. Now move before I make you."

William didn't move, which made his father's anger grow. "He could be an ally" he pleaded "he could help us in some way if we just tried." His father grit his teeth and walked forward. "I won't hear your nonsense" he yelled, pushing his son aside and readying his sword. William tried to grab his father's arm to stop him, but received a blow to the side instead, causing him to hit the ground. Knights had gone to the princesses and Queen, beginning to lead them away, and William barely heard their pleas for him to follow. He tried to get up, the shock and fear of it all making it harder than anything. He tried again to yell for his father to stop, but he clearly wasn't heard as his father raised his sword.

  • The Demon could only watch as the Male that he had sparred was trying to stop the inevitable, he knew how stubborn Humans were when they were trying to protect something and that is what was happening at the moment since he could only guess that these people were higher in the food chain than these other people around them, but he could not hate the Human for trying since he was doing it to save both of them for there was no hostility towards him. And certainly none towards the other, at least not the violent kind that would befit what was happening now between him and the larger Human. It would only be right for him to give the other c change to see if he could change the outcome, and maybe...

Yet he knew, even if he could barely comprehend what was happening in front of him, that from what he had constantly heard was the 'King' and the other was the 'Prince', at least that was what he was hearing over and over again so he would refer to them as such rather their species as a whole, that it would all be naught as he could tell the King was clearly glaring at him with murderous intent, like one you would see from a hungry wolf, but he has seen this two many of times ever since he first began hunting down those who were in the forest. They all wanted to live, but so did he, he didn't want to die and so he chose to live the way he was, even if he was shunned as a being where no acceptance was to be found for from any species.

He could only watch as the two of the Humans seemed to agitated with each other till he was internally shocked to see the other push the one that was kind to him away like he was merely nothing, for some reason that didn't sit right with him for that person had shown him a sense of compassion as if there wasn't any blood on his hands. As if he was Human, like them, rather than a beast that they would rather slaughter than let live even if he had no choice to how he must survive, he needed meat and he couldn't help it that most people attacked him when they first saw him considering him to be a monster.

Slowly he got ready to charge, his head down and yet he got his arms ready in secret, and as soon as he saw the King lift his sword up, he charged full speed towards him with the full intent to charge right through him like he was nothing. Yet before that could happen, he suddenly lifted his chained hands up and had the chain stop the sword from ever reaching his body, they were both made out of the same material and if he was lucky the force of the swing would break these off him and he would be able to escape. It would seem that he was close to such as he heard the metal of the links creak under the pressure before they seemed to crack through a bit due to the force, giving him the chance to back away quickly as he expected the King to be fazed by the whole endeavor.

  • The king was forced to move back from the hit, and it took him a second to fully realized what had just happened. The sudden, unexpected force had disoriented him quite a bit, and it took him a second to be ready again. William, though, had seen all of it, and was a bit surprised. But he also saw another chance. “He’s intelligent” he yelled, managing to get up again “you can’t kill someone smart enough to use his opponent like that!” It was indeed a smart move, but it also made him afraid. If the demon got comepletely free before he could stop this, there would be nothing he could do.

“That just means it’s more dangerous” the King shouted, readying his weapon again. His mind was only focused on getting rid of this threat. He couldn’t let this thing hurt his people anymore. William ran to try and stop him, but suddenly felt something holding him back. He looked back and realized one of the knights had broken away from the group with his mother and sisters, and was now holding him back.

William quickly started to struggle, trying to stop the knight from dragging him away. He couldn’t let this continue. One of them would surely die, if not the both of them. “Don’t kill him” he screamed, “please, don’t kill him!” At this point, he wasn’t sure who he was talking to, the Demon or the King. He didn’t want either of them hurting each other. He only wished he was stronger, or had a weapon of his own to use to stop them.

//sorry if it’s a bit shorter. I’m on my phone instead of my computer and about to go into work

  • The Demon took the chance, while the King was disoriented, to cross his arms in a way to allow the force of the pull in the opposite directions which pulled on the cut that had been made in the metal by the blade to get friction put on it. He increased the power of each pull, the adrenaline coursing through veins by anger fueling his strength, till the telltale sign of a metal clink echoed enough for most to hear it despite it being only a tiny sound, the chain binding his hands falling into the two as the cuffs stayed on his arms. It would now be easy for him to deal with the King if he wanted to, but then again that would make him more of a monster in the eyes of these villagers, even if he already was one.

Blood covered his hands after all and there would be not enough of things he could do in his lifetime to get rid of it, since he was only made to cause more in order to live, he could hear the Prince crying out for death not to come, he could understand those words they were screamed at him from many travelers protecting their comrades from him, begging for their lives. Maybe it would be okay to let one life live for today, after all this was the same Human that was showing him compassion unlike any other he has seen till this day and this was likely someone important to him, doing such an act would lead to complete isolation from the land around him.

Deciding on what he should to, he took the same position prior, with a little changes, as he got ready to charge again yet this time he took a more feral position, his hands on the ground as if he were a wolf getting ready to lunge. Then he ran forward at full speed, his horns positioned to ram right through the King if he were to make contact yet this time, he didn't dodge but instead, used his horns as a means of deflecting the sword with additonal force to hopefully knock it out of the Man's hands. This would be his thanks to the Prince for showing him compassion, he would let this Man live as well as the rest of them despite the hatred they felt for him and how they wanted to kill him.

  • The king had braced himself for impact, his face hard as he expected injury, or even death. However, he was shocked when he was only disarmed. In his alarm, he was quick to stumble back a few steps, his eyes never leaving the creature. His mind was racing, trying to think through what this meant. But, with the king disarmed, it became the knights’ priority to protect him. The knight holding William loosened his grip, trying to figure out his best course of action. The prince took his chance and broke away, running back over to his father. He could tell this was the only time he could get through to him.

“He could have killed you” he said, looking up at the older man “but he didn’t. That has to show some sort of humanity.” The king looked between his son and the creature, trying to think through what to do. “You’re right” he said finally with a sigh “but we can’t just let it run free. It’ll just keep killing that way.” William’s hope quickly turned to worry and disappointment. There was only one alternative that his father would think of; lock him up somewhere so he couldn’t have any human contact. That almost seemed worse; if he hated people now, there was no doubt the Demon would hate humanity after that. “No, you can’t-“

He was quickly cut off. “I’m not letting that thing loose. You got what you wanted, it won’t be killed. But I will not stand by and let it hurt more of our people.” His father’s voice was hard and clear, showing he would not argue about this further. This caused William to frown, but he wasn’t quoting there. He had an idea going. It was crazy, and probably stupid, but it was all he could do now. “Then I’m traveling with him” he announced “and I won’t let any harm come to him.” He didn’t even wait for a reaction, and instead turned around the the Demon.

The knights had surrounded him, but hadn’t drawn weapons yet, though they were prepared. They were more focused on making sure the creature didn’t escape. William took a breath before stepping through the line, carefully going closer to the Demon. “Hey, I don’t knkw if you really understand me” he said quietly, his voice much softer than before. He was treating this like approaching a wounded animal, since it was the best approach he could think of. “I won’t let them hurt you. We just got to get you somewhere safer, ok?” He didn’t even know if this would work, but he had seemed to get the Demon’s attention and interest before.

  • The Demon watched as the King was stumbled back by his charge, mainly to see how he would react and when he saw only confusion, he took this chance to grab onto the mouth guard that was preventing him from being able to even hear himself normally. He would need this off before he returned back to the woods and so, gripping hard as tight as his strength allowed, he pulled hard until the chains that held the lock clunked and finally clattered under the pressure, falling back against the opposite sides of his head, revealing teeth that were almost as white as pearls and sharpened like tiny blades. It fell onto the grass and with that, he could hear the gasps of the villagers before he heard the fleeing footsteps as if they finally realized their enemy have finally been fully freed, and they only cared about their lives rather than those that they seemed to revere as high and mighty.

But he did not move from his spot since he had just seen the Prince make more movements, and he couldn't help how he felt so interested in this Human that was so different than the others in a way that he thought impossible. Compassion for the unknown and trying to save such despite having no idea of what he has done and how that can never be changed, it would likely only grow. Clearly he was still trying to save him from death despite how futile it should be, all these people feared and resented his existence they wouldn't let him live, even if they did, it would likely be worse of a fate.

Watching till he was startled, his eyes narrowing with a sense of uneasiness and yet intrigue, as the Prince seemed to be coming over towards his way and since he was only watching rather trying to listen, he had no clear idea on what this meant hence his instincts kicking in and demanding he take action if necessary. But it would seem that would be all for naught as he saw the other's lips moving along with it, words that he was trying hard to decipher for even he had more knowledge than what one would call an average beast, he was still uncommon with most languages and words that seemed to come easily to others. Did he hear him say that he would let him live, but to do so he would take him somewhere? Does that foolish Prince know who he is talking to? He was a creature that had more blood on him than any one should have, he looked pure only in appearance, stained crimson every time he had to eat, yet here was one of many he had long killed telling him that he was going with him, to a safe place he could only assume, wherever that was.

His expression could only be considered, in Human terms, annoyed as well as skeptical for he had no idea what the Male was even thinking, he understood his compassion previously but right now, it was borderline insane to go this far to protect a 'Demon'. But he assumed it would be all for naught if he were to try to argue, 'if' he actually could, and there clearly was no lies coming from the other so he could assume this was a honest action of good intent. So, without further thinking for that would only be a lost cause, he blinked his eyes once in confirmation.

  • William admittedly felt fear build up inside him when he saw the other’s expression. He was completely free now, and clearly stronger than him. If this went the wrong way, he’d be done for. Annoying him really wasn’t a good idea for anyone, especially him. However, he felt himself relax as he saw him blink. It seemed much more controlled than others, and seemed like it was to show he understood, at least a little. He couldn’t help but hope he’d be able to reach the other better communication, but this was good enough for now.

He looked back as he heard the steps of horses coming up behind them. It wasn’t hurried, but he knew from the sound that they were pulling something, and all the knights around him seemed more urgent. When he saw what the horses pulled, he felt his heart sink a bit. It was more like a cage on wheels than a carriage, and he had a feeling this would sit well with the Demon. He knew they’d brought it with them in case they decided it wasn’t too dangerous, but now that he saw how human-like he was, it didn’t feel right caving the Demon like an animal. It would probably make things worse. The knights didn’t seem to care though, and started attempting to herd the Demon towards the cage. William saw that quite a few were ready to pull out their weapons, and he didn’t want to make the Demon angry.

He turned toward the knights, his expression becoming firm. If there was one thing he learned from his father, it was how to give orders. “If any one of you hurts him, you’ll be punished accordingly” he said, his voice louder and more firm than before. Once he was sure they got the message, he let himself glance around a bit. He realized his family had already left in their carriage, not leaving him with many choices. He could probably find another horse and ride alongside the cart. He didn’t think riding in the cage was a good idea. Even though he wanted to trust the Demon, being locked in a cage with him could anger him, and create another dangerous situation. He hated to admit it, but he was still scared of him quite a bit.

He sighed quietly before turning to the Demon again, giving him a sympathetic look. “I’m sorry, but the cage is the only way to get out” he apologized. He wasn’t sure why he was still talking to him like this; it was clear the other didn’t fully understand him. But it was the only way he really knew how to communicate. “It won’t last long, I promise.” He frowned as the knights continued attempting to herd him to the open door of the cage, not sure what else to do.

  • The Demon could easily see the fear in the other's eyes, it was only justifiable as one should always fear the very thing that seemed to be incomprehensible and erratic, which would describe how he usually acted. He always used his instincts to determine how to react, he barely showed the humane side of him that remained, under a stone wall that prevented him from realizing the cruel acts he has done onto other lives. It would of been so long ago he would have broken down if he never became the way he is now, that was how he chose to live, hidden and never willing to show how truly human he was since no one believed him, except now one did.

Looking where the Prince was, his ears picked up the sound of many steps, which differed from those of the knights that had taken him here and away from his home, but that didn't bother him, what did was what he saw them bringing. His pupils seemed to dilate almost instantly as he bared his teeth, a low guttural growl rumbling out from inside him all instinctively out of defense, it was a cage, the very thing that he has seen so many times that has made many lose their freedom with no problem. This one was big though, big enough for him, and that caused his hair to run on ends as he felt the need to run and hide, to flee before he was taken away forever into some unknown place where he could never see the woods or the outside again.

It was all futile as he was made to step closer and closer towards his impending doom, this was the fate worse than death, the very one he didn't want this whole situation to come to yet here he was about to be forever sealed like the animal he was. He looked to the Prince with a sense of hurt ever so present in his eyes, like he had just been betrayed as if he was an animal whose trust was merely something to use and throw away, but then his ears picked up his voice and with it, he stilled. This was the only way, huh? He wouldn't get hurt, and neither would anyone else if he went along willingly. It hurt him inside to lose the very thing he cherished, but this Male had chosen to trust him, and was willing to take him somewhere safe prior to all of this. He could kill all these guards and run, but then he would only lose the only person that seemed to see him differently and he would only prove the point that he was nothing more than a bloodthirsty Demon.

He felt like he could trust him, even if it had been shattered only moments ago for a bit, he would just have to go with it and not cause any issues, no more blood for he did not want to lose the only person that he has ever met that has considered him close to a Human, rather than a beast. Slowly he seemed to give a resigned smile, it was small and seemed a little bit sad but he had finally come to accept his fate at hand and it would only be for a little while, after all. He was promised by the Prince of that, he faintly heard so despite his lack of communication and so, he lt himself be fully put into the cage and with the door closing signaled the end of his freedom.

  • William felt a twist of pain in his chest as he saw the hurt in the other’s eyes, and then the sad smile he had as he walked into the cage. It was clear that he knew what this meant, and it hurt the prince to know that he did this to him. Once the cage was closed, he told the knights to get ready to depart, and for one to grab him an extra horse. While they all left to do what he said, he stayed by the cage door. He looked in at the Demon, hat in the sight of him like this. It was clear to him that he didn’t like any of this, and he wanted to do his best to help him. “When we get to the castle, I won’t let them put you in another cage” he told him, his voice determined “I swear.” He didn’t know how he’d pull it off, but he would. He couldn’t bear to think about the Demon being locked in a cell.

He only left the cage when the knight brought back a horse for him. He was quick to get on it, and then rode up to the side of the cage. At this point, he wasn’t sure if it was more for the Demon’s assurance or his own, but he wanted to make sure he was close by. He didn’t want to risk anything happening to him. As they were finally able to leave, the prince made sure to ride close to the side of the cage. He couldn’t get too close, due to the danger it could cause the horse, but it was close enough. The whole journey, he was thinking of ways to help the Demon, and make sure he wasn’t harmed. One of his first decisions was to try to come up with a name once he had the time to. He wanted to make sure whatever name he gave would fit the Demon, and maybe give him a choice if he cared or understood enough to. The main problem, though, was trying to make sure he didn’t get put in a cell.

All through the trip, William noticed that the knights still seemed wary. He often found them glancing at the cage, and a few kept a hand on or near their weapons. He hated it, but knew he couldn’t stop them. If he tried, they’d say something about having to make sure he was protected. Instead, he stayed quiet, going into his own thoughts.

The trip took longer than he expected; the ride with his family had been a bit shorter. But, he supposed, it was probably top priority to make sure the Royal Family traveled quickly, especially away from danger. Sunset had just started by the time the castle came close enough to view. It was fairly large and elegant, with a forest nearby. With it’s size, William could think of quite a few places he could hide the Demon, and where to move him in emergencies. When they reached the entrance, the prince was relieved not to see his father. He half expected him to be standing there, awaiting their arrival. He was definitely in for a lecture or scolding. But this meant he had time before that happened. Maybe the longer journey hadn’t been so bad. They had come to one of the smaller entrances towards the back, presumably to be able to easily take care of the Demon.

William was the first to get off his horse, ready to put his first plan into action. “He’s not going to go quietly if there’s too many of you” he said to the knights “he’ll listen to me, so I only want one of you to come with us.” The knights seemed very reluctant, but agreed. They had seen what he did with the creature before, and they had to listen to a direct order. They still made a protective wall, to make sure it didn’t escape as they opened the cage door. William look in and gave him a small, reassuring smile. “Just follow me, okay” he said, adding with a quieter voice “you have to trust me if this is going work.”

  • The Demon immediately went into a state of absolute solitude, or rather more bluntly, stillness as he remained firmly sat at the middle of the cold floor of the cage, his nails digging into the metal as a means to calm his nerves. He had never gotten put into any of these, but he has seen enough animals get into one to know that they were worst things to come from Humans, confined in spaces they can barely fit in and carried off to who knows where without any source of freedom of choice, it was the worst one could to do to anything that has thrived purely through the wild. He barely twitched in response when he heard the Prince's words, he seemed to be saying there would be no other cage after this, and he sure hoped not, but he still kept trust in the other alive, one did not let one live if they didn't trust them and that trust was what let him live through that whole issue prior to this all.

He remained where he was, even as the cage began to rumble with each and every step the horses made as the cage was being hauled by them and down a path, likely to where the Prince resided in, though he had no idea what to expect. It would likely be someplace big, maybe bigger than the woods in every way since it seemed that these Humans were more higher up than others enough to have others serve them like their lives depended on it, he wondered if he would be able to live life as freely as he used to back there, but he doubted such an ideal dream.

For the remainder of the trip, the Demon decided to look around at the passing scenery as a means to calm himself and give himself some relaxation from his worries about the life that was waiting after all this, he never had went this far before and the new areas around them fascinated him in a way, as if he was seeing the world in a whole new point of view. It surely was different as he saw water passing through in much bigger means than the ones he seen in the forest, those were thin and long, but these were big and spanned pretty big. And he could actually see huge rocks in the distance, they were too far to see clearly but they looked like they would of been a more isolated area than the forest, maybe if he was left there...

No, no, he shouldn't be thinking of 'what ifs', there was no point in it all and even if he was left there, he would of not found any sort of people around and that would mean that the Prince never would of even knew he existed, he had no idea whether was for the better or worse. As soon as he heard the steps become slower, he looked behind him to notice the huge stone house'?' that seemed to tower over everything around it, and with it, his eyes came into sight of the nearby forest and he couldn't help a rumble of approval from escaping him, it would be different but it would be quite similar to the one he ad been forced to leave. Maybe there was a lot of new animals there and he wouldn't be found out by villagers since he did not see any around here, he had been around them for so long that he knew where they resided and there was no telltale signs of those.

As soon as the horses seemed to stop, he stood up with a huff and knew what was going to happen next, in a sense, for he could see the Prince already heading over and away from his horse. His facial expression remained blank even as he listened to the other's words, he seemed to have some sort of means of allowing him to live, whether that be a good or bad was entirely up to him he assumed, so he would have to willingly be passive as if he was tamed beast, like the tamed 'wolves' he had seen residing with Humans sometimes. He gave a blink of confirmation as he did last time, he had no other means for even if he tried to speak, it would sound like a grumble of words and it would certainly be in no means a response. Slowly as he was told, he took a couple steps out of the cage before he came over to where the other stood, and he noticed, he was a slight bit taller than the Human, though he guessed that was another thing abnormal about compared to Humans.

  • William couldn’t help but look up at the other as he came to stand beside him. He hadn’t realized before that the other was taller than him. It wasn’t a huge difference, but it was slightly startling. He was outmatched at everything, it seemed, when it came to the Demon. He didn’t spend too much time focused on it, and looked to a knight who had separated himself from the group. He glanced at the creature cautiously before stepping ahead and leading them through the entrance. They were led inside, and started going down a dark stairway. The prince knew exactly where they were going, and kept track of where they’d been. He knew a way out of this, he just hoped it would work.

When they came out of the stairway, they walked into the castle’s dungeons. William took a breath, willing himself not to look in any of the cells. He hated coming down here, and usually avoided it. However, it was necessary now. Luckily, he still knew his way around, and they wouldn’t have to go too deep in to get where he needed. He just hoped the Demon stayed calm enough, or at least trusted him enough, to keep following. He wouldn’t break his promise, not to someone who could so easily turn on him and his family if the trust they had were betrayed.

The prince made sure they walked a bit slower, but not too much to be noticeable. It was just enough to get the knight ahead of them by a good amount. Soon enough, as the guard reached a large enough cell, they’d reached where he wanted. There was a stone wall right by them, with a hidden door William had found a while ago. It had a handle that you had to be looking for to ever see, and blended in perfectly with the rest of the wall. When the guard turned his back, William took a breath and grabbed the Demon’s arm. It was the first time he’d actually touched him, he realized, but he had no time to dwell on it. He pulled the door open and dragged the both of them inside, pulling it closed just as the knight turned. It was a smaller, more cramped passageway, but it was something. “Come on, we gotta get going” he said, starting to quickly walk down the passage “before he finds the handle, or gets help.” He looked back, hoping this wasn’t a bad idea.

  • The Demon was used to the differences between him and those that typically walked the lands, it had grown on him as he continued to live and grow throughout the years to the point he was now, after all his horns were never this big when he had been little and his nails had grown and gotten longer as well as his hair and overall figure, it was the natural course of growth and life. He had previously forgotten all about the knights even when they were the ones that had surrounded him prior, maybe it had to due to his own mind being muddled with the whole cage and the fact that he was pretty much in unknown territory, a place he had yet to explore but he knew that it would be highly unlikely to be allowed such a freedom.

He followed the Prince and what he assumed to be their guide, one of those knights, he had heard the word enough to know who those in silver armor were called, his eyes narrowing to a level different the other times, this time showing pure annoyance and agitation as his eyes peered at the many cages around them, different yet the bars were all too familiar in shape to one and the darkness did not help but fuel the growing anxiety he was now feeling at the sight of how many there were and how they were only going deeper into such a place of entrapment. While his instincts told him run and not trust a single Human again, he stuck to his agreement prior to this all and continued following the male, he told him that he would be okay after all this, that he would be free and while that was half-true at the moment, he would trust him for a little while more.

It had yet to bite him back after all this time that he could of been stabbed in the back, figuratively and literally, and the other feared him, yes, but yet did not take any stance of attacking hi or even showing any aggression towards him. But when he suddenly felt a hand on his arm, he could not expect him to jolt a bit out of instinct and let out a small snarl, albeit a guttural one like all the other noises he made since he was still Human and did not contain the correct vocal organs to produce a typical one that escaped those of animals. He did a resist a bit, by pulling his arm back but when he saw who was the one responsible, his eyes turned quizzical, which probably allowed the other the chance to pull him into what looked like a hole in the stone, which was not there before from he had seen turning his erratic glancing about caused by the sight of those metal cages that were too over-sized for a typical animal, that could only mean that one would of been meant for him.

He decided to let this sudden skin contact go, he was not used to such intimate contact between another, especially not a Human and with such a slight sense of gentle rather than the digging of nails or the brutal squeeze of one's wrist, he had scars to prove how hurtful some touches could be by those types of people. Giving a huff this time in response, he followed the other down the darkened hall of stone, it certainly was darker than the place they had just essentially left, but his eyes were pretty accustomed to such due to his days living in a area without light at all once the sun went down.

  • William was glad to know he was following, and kept going straight. He felt a bit bad for grabbing him; the snarl he’d received had startled him, and he made a mental note to himself not to do something so sudden again. However, he didn’t have time to apologize right now. He needed to keep track of where they were going. These halls were small, after all, and a terrible place to be cornered in. Over the years, he’d managed to create a good mental map of the secret passages the castle held. He was confident in his ability to get them around undetected. He couldn’t help but smile proudly as they reached another staircase, quickly going up.

He kept quiet while they walked, reaching another hall. He couldn’t get too distracted in here; the last thing he wanted was for the both of them to end up in a bad place. He took them through a few turns, before heading straight again. He could only think of one place at the moment that would be safe enough to hide him. He looked back at the Demon before finally speaking again. “When we get out of here, we’re going to run straight into another room, alright” he told him “then we can relax for a while.” He was more than ready to have a bit of a break from having to hide around like this.

Eventually, they reached what seemed to be a wooden door. Staying as quiet as possible, he opened it slightly to look and listen into the hall it led to. He heard and saw no one, nodding to himself a bit before opening it the rest of the way. The door was hidden as a large, fairly heavy portraiture in the middle of an even bigger hall way. He quickly led the Demon out before closing it, then quickly heading to a large, more obvious door. He opened it and glanced inside again before letting the Demon in, closing the door behind him. He couldn’t help but let out a small sigh of relief, leaning back against the closed door.

The room he’d led them to was quite large. There were a few couches and chairs, a large fireplace, and on the other side of the room was a large bed. The rest of the room was decorated lavishly, proving that it belonged to royalty. “Sorry” he said after a second “but my bedroom was the safest place I could think of.” After all, no one was allowed in here unless given his specific permission. The main thing he’d have to worry about while hiding the Demon here was making sure none of the more gossip loving maids came in here.
