*:・゚✦ MORGAN STEFANOV
NAME / NICKNAMES Morgan Aleksandr Stefanov / Prefers to just go by his first name; welcomes nicknames if anyone wants to give him any.
AGE 26.
DATE OF BIRTH December 3rd.
ROLE Regular member of the first squadron.
SIDE EFFECT Farsight // His side effect is one that focuses in on further enhancing already enhanced senses, primarily sight. There are two 'modes' of his side effect, but it is named after the most frequently used one, long-distance sight and the closer-range detail sight. So either he can focus on scanning or aiming long-distance, or he can focus on the immediate area and pick up on things that others might not see (eg- trails too faint for regular vision, picking up on movement too quick for others to see, etc).
— Pros
* Good scouting ability, being able to assess movement outside of the regular range or faster than the regular speed of other's vision for example.
* Incredibly accurate aim.
— Cons
* It takes time to switch between the 'modes' of his vision, and doing so frequently gives him terrible headaches.
* Due to the sensitivity of his vision, he is easily blinded by bright lights. Sunglasses are a must for him.
VICE WEAPON What appears as an old-tech rifle has had the internal mechanisms altered to turn it into a vice weapon. Given his enhanced vision, a sight isn't really needed.
— While his sight takes care of aiming, and the regular bullets he uses can kill chimera, activating the weapon's ability will turn the bullets within it into beacons or tracking chips of sorts, with the trail/location only visible using Morgan's enhanced vision. This usually helps if a mission is more long-term to do with tracking the enemy or if an enemy has almost managed to escape and needs to be hunted down later.
FIGHTING STYLE / MISC WEAPONS He's normally someone who stays on the sidelines, scouting the area or covering for the more close-range fighters. He does have a dagger for close-range fighting, but prefers not to have to resort to using it, as his side effect and vice weapon plays into a particular fighting style and strategy.
GENDER Cisgender male.
SEXUALITY Bisexual. Preference for men.
ETHNICITY Russian-American. He has an accent to match.
RELATIONSHIP N/A, open for plotting.
CRUSH N/A, open for plotting.
FAMILY
* Nikolai Stefanov, father. MIA, presumed dead. A military commander that Morgan is at odds with due to his father's abandonment of his mother. He was at the Tolstoy base at the time they ceased communications and despite his disagreements with the man, Morgan needs to know his fate.
* Shannon Everett, mother. Deceased.
* Nina Stefanova, sister. Alive, 21 years old. A member of the maintenance division, despite her eccentricities and her almost obsessive devotion to her work, Morgan loves his younger sister and is very protective of her. I might make her as a side-character if you don't mind, Sevrin?
FRIENDS open for plotting.
ENEMIES open for plotting.
PERSONALITY
* Practical. Perhaps not the most empathetic of people, Morgan is more logical and practical that anything. Perhaps it's the hunter's mindset due to his training, or the rather militaristic upbringing he had with his father in charge, or the responsibility of taking care of his sister from a young age that lessened his ability to be optimistic. He isn't necessarily a pessimist, but a realist who tends to keep his bleak outlook to himself.
* Isolated/Quiet. Aside from his family and his squadron, Morgan doesn't really connect with people much, preferring to stay on the sidelines at social events as much as he does on the battlefield. This seems to be a result of a mixture of shyness and the fact that his distanced fighting style training has bled through into his social interactions.
* Trusting. Despite his isolation, those who do make efforts to get to know him will easily gain his trust and loyalty. This can get him into trouble, with him wanting to believe the best in others and trusting the wrong kinds of people, despite having a bleak outlook on the situation in general.

HISTORY He has few memories from before the calamity, but from the scraps of memory he can salvage, his family was happy, his father worked a lot for the military but that was normal for them and the time they did get to spend with him was wonderful. Right up until his father got a phone call when his mother was out - at the shops, visiting friends, all Morgan knew was that she wasn't back in time - and he grabbed a go bag, told Morgan to grab his baby sister, and they got the hell out of dodge. He never did understand why his father just left his mother, and it was a point of much disagreement for them. They spent a short amount of time at a mainland military base before Nikolai joined up with the Vein forces and relocated the family to Atlas. One thing was for sure, Morgan wanted to go back to the mainland, so when he wasn't looking after his little sister, he was preparing to join the first division. His father encouraged this pursuit, probably thinking that Morgan wanted to be like him.
With all the effort he put in, it wasn't surprising that Morgan passed the tests and got into the military division, with his side effect making him well-suited for being a scout. Much of his time until he was promoted to the first squadron was spent on scouting missions for various different outposts, very much a lone-wolf kind of job, the isolation suited him and he had the survival skills to make it alone in some of the harshest of climes. He assumes that's why he was promoted to the first squadron, because it wasn't like he was gunning for the role, he just happens to be very good with his particular skill set. He's spent the last three years as a member of the first squadron, and he definitely doesn't intend to go on to high command.
QUIRKS / MISC
* This man is a magpie, he loves collecting shiny things. Doesn't matter what it is or does, if it's shiny, he's probably picking it up.
* Spends much of his spare time people-watching around the base. I feel like he and Rikio would be gossip buddies.
* Chaotic good. He means well, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions as they say.
HEADCANONS
* Allergic to cats. But loves dogs, especially goofy-looking sighthound breeds.
* While not the most mischievous, his trusting nature gets him dragged into everyone else's shenanigans.
* Will he melt when he gets too hot? He certainly complains like it when it's summer or they go anywhere where the climate is warmer.
OTHER Red. Rincewind from the discworld books reminds me of me. I know you said show, but i don't watch much TV, so this will have to do lol I think all the essential stuff on the form is done, there's just a few tweaks I might make to his history & more in depth writing to do for his personality. If there's anything imbalanced/anything you want me to edit, just let me know & I'll see if I can make some edits.
FUTURE PLOTS Uhhhh, I can't think of anything right now. Lemme see what I can think up by the time I get over to the plotting thread if i'm accepted ofc.
