    introduction

    Wastelands stretch as far as the eye can see, major cities and various other establishments of civilization lost to the horrors that took place over 20 years ago, now known as "The Calamity". Creatures that sprout from the earth's womb have destroyed all that humanity had ever built over its long rule of the world. These creatures are called Chimera and cannot be destroyed with regular weaponry. In a last ditch effort to save the world, a group of scientists working in an underground laboratory concentrated all of their remaining resources into finding a way to combat the Chimera. Almost 9 months after humanity's fall, these brave scientists were successful in their efforts. In their finest hour, they created what is now called a "vice". The organization known as "Vein" was then created to utilize this new technology, and distributed it throughout the world after establishing a floating stronghold in the Pacific Ocean.


    Now, 20 years after the fall of humanity and the creation of vice technology, Vein now fights to take back the world.


    vein

    In response to the creation of what is known as a "vice" in retaliation against Chimera, the organization known as Vein was created. They are a militaristic group who reside on a floating stronghold in the Pacific ocean called Atlas. This stronghold is home to over 15,000 people, most of whom are civilians that are members of Vein and work towards keeping the large floating base in perfect condition; this is the "commons division", or 3rd Division, which branches out in several other related sub-divisions. Veins' 2nd division, comprised of scientists, doctors and mechanics, is the "vice research and maintenance division"; researchers are tasked with working on new ways to utilize vice by integrating it into new technology to use against the Chimera and to make life better for the civilian populace of the stronghold and the rest of Veins' branches throughout the world. The 2nd division also deals with the medical side of things in Atlus. The 1st division, known as the "arms division", directly deals with Chimera on missions away from Atlas and provides the stronghold with defense against any Chimera able to reach it.


    Each division has it's own part of Atlas and each divisions' buildings and various structures are kept separate from one another in order to optimize organization of the base.


    All three main divisions of Vein are headed by a primary commander. Technically, there is an overall leader of Vein that these commanders report to, however the only difference in their job from that of the commanders is that they oversee the three divisions of Atlas, as well as the branch organizations of Vein that are spread throughout the world (just making sure nothing is horribly out of wack). They also have the last say in important decisions, such as who would be assigned as a commander should one suddenly die, or any situations that have become important enough that they have to step in. The person in this position garners much respect from the members of Vein for being able to juggle so much at once. (if you are at all confused, here's a chart of who everyone gets their orders from :3)


    vice

    Through careful trial and error, scientists created "vice" by utilizing the energy cores of Chimera. The cores are tweaked to generate as much energy as possible then are reverse engineered to create a new energy, called vice energy, or what is commonly known as vice. This is a basic explanation of how vice's are created, as there are many other processes are involved in making this phenomenon occur.


    Chimera cores are usually the size of a mini-van, however due to adjustments that are applied to them, they condense into small orbs that are about 3 to 4 inches in diameter. The orbs are nearly indestructible, however it is possible to break them by using vice weapons, which are also made from chimera cores. In order to use these weapons, a vice orb is implanted into the human body which thusly enhances the 5 senses as well as a persons strength and agility; it also allows them to activate vice weapons. This procedure also tends to give people what has been appropriately named a "side effect". Side effects are supernatural abilities that are caused by the energy that emanates from the implanted vice orb. These abilities span from even further enhanced physical abilities, like super strength, to more outrageous abilities, such as being able to generate lightning or fire from ones body or turning into a ferocious beast. (Abilities are named by the person who is affected by them). People who are implanted with vice orbs are known as "Operators".

    (vice orbs are usually implanted in the center of a persons back and usually fuse to the spine.)


    The weapons that Operators use are created from a chimera core by a vice mechanic and, after they are created, literally come alive. The difference between them and any other living being is that they are mostly dormant unless approached by a creature that has been implanted with a vice orb. Due to this, weapons are very hard to find users for, as the weapons choose who their masters will be and have fairly specific criteria. Every weapon has it's own conditions, or preferences, you could say, for it's idea master that must be fulfilled. Otherwise, the person who attempts to wield an incompatible weapon risks being devoured by it. The commanders of the research division and the arms division choose potential new operators based on personal data that corresponds to a weapon in order to minimize casualties. Applicants are not implanted with a vice orb unless they are chosen as a possible candidate for a weapon.

    (weapons are pretty much dormant after they have been paired with their chosen master, however all weapons can change into a beast mode where they are able to devour and transport chimera orbs. this mode is also able to be utilized in battle but it is very difficult to control (it's literally like trying to handle a wild animal) and can't be used for a very long time. thus, it's usually only used in moments of desperation.)


    Weapons come in many forms, most commonly as large swords or large gun like weapons that shoot vice energy, however it is not uncommon for more unique weapons to occur. (i.e. bow and arrow, whip, knives, etc)


    A person is not considered an operator until they are implanted with a vice orb and paired with a weapon.


    setting

    In this RP, our characters will be the members of the top squadron in Vein, the 1st combat unit, which takes up the most dangerous and more high priority missions the Arms Division is tasked with. This unit is comprised of 8 members.


    The overall goal of vein is to permanently eliminate Chimera all over the globe, so our characters' normal missions away from Atlas would usually be collecting the energy cores of the Chimera to move towards this ultimate goal, however something has gone awry in the Russian stronghold, Tolstoy. All communications from the Russian base have mysteriously stopped and an on-site investigation into the status of the base is to be carried out by Atlus' 1st combat unit. Atlus will traveling closer to the mainland in order to minimize the time that the Operators will be spending in the aircraft onto mainland Russia. They will be departing at 4AM and must be prepared to fight should any Chimera with flying capabilities, which are most prominent in places with extremely harsh climates such as Russia, attack them.

    10. do not kill anyone's character off without both mine and the other person’s permission

    so i lied, and I totally forgot to get the chat/plot thread up yesterday. i got distracted by my own forms and went absolutely ham on making my characters yesterday. i still need to finish my first form but the second one is all finished. ngl, i overdid the hell out this one and since i've set the bar for myself with the fist form i can't turn back :')

    SIDE EFFECT Demon | Jupiter’s side effect gives him the ability to be able to create shadow lightning and to be able to bend people’s blood. If he does try enough and use more energy he can be able to force his body through the shadows and travel small distances. He never tries to travel through the shadows due to the fact it uses so much energy it pushes him very close to his breaking point and the fact he could easily get stuck in the shadows and won’t be able to come out. On normal whenever Jupiter starts to use his side effect his eyes and arms flow with the shadowy energy and the lesser the shadow gets the weaker he gets giving him a bit of a sign when he can no longer use his side effect. Jupiter doesn’t typically use the blood bending because to him it makes him seem more like a demon, plus it uses too much energy and he can easily loose himself to the bending and will go into full rampage mode if he isn’t careful.

    — Pros Jupiter can typically create the lightning out of the shadows that are around. And be able to send them wherever he wants as long as he can see it. The blood bending takes a bit more energy but it can allow him to basically harm someone from the inside out by moving the liquid about in their body.

    — Cons Inside Jupiter’s mind he is walking on what he calls the edge of a cliff. He’s in a constant state of balance between his side effect completely taking over him and him being able to push it back. If Jupiter tries to experiment with his side effect or pushes himself past his breaking point then Jupiter starts to fall off his cliff and the “demons” as he calls it start to take over. If Jupiter does not get himself calmed or if someone else can not calm him down then he can and will be completely lost to his side effect. His body will be completely coveted in the shadowy energy and he will go on a rampage until he can no longer move another muscle. He will eventually pass out from exhaustion and he will return back to his original state with no recollection of what happened. He also has to have enough shadow around him to be able to work with or he cannot crest any lightning.
