has anyone ever taken a creative writing class?

    im about to enter my senior yr of high school and i haven't written in a long while and roleplaying is almost like writing stories but not because you do it with other people and like, one of the main parts of the course (i think) is having short story assignments and that's intimidating me cuz idk if i'll be able to come up with good ones off the bat. i've never tried so i don't know how i'd do, and i worry i'll be behind the people who have a feel for it better. i mean it IS an elective, and i wanna improve my writing, and rather than having a free period i thought to do something maybe cool, i don't really know much behind what that sorta class entails and i have to turn in my 2020 course selection tomorrow afternoon and so im wondering if i shove this in

    I took one in my, uhh...2nd year of high school, I think? Honestly, I really enjoyed it! It was intimidating and quite challenging, but since I liked to write then (and still do now) it was also really rewarding. I learned a lot about other forms of writing, too, that I hadn't considered before - poetry and screenwriting and all that stuff. I think if you want to take it, you should try it, especially if you're writing-inclined already!

    I took creative writing my senior year of high school! I had a lot of fun, my teacher gave us prompts for our short-story assignments and it could be hard if I didn't have the muse for the prompt, but it gives you a challenge to try and create a story even when you don't think you had an idea at first. We also did author's chair where 3-4 of us got to share our stories, read them to the class, and get feedback from them. I had a great time in creative writing and wish I could take another class tbh!
