*:・゚✦ So Ver's weekly task was a sand castle competition; Tea made a beeline for the oasis, since the sand would be fairer there and the water is essential - heck, she even started building her own as she set up a little area for the building, along with some spades and pails for plenty of people to join in. Tea would have called for her clanmates to come join her, but... she'd gotten a little engrossed in building her own sand castle, moat and all, that she didn't even remember to.

She didn’t mind sand to much, it was better than mud which cling to her paws and leg fur lately in the pines. With the heat slowly climbing up in temperature it only made sense for there to be more mush and mud laying around for her to waltz into accidentally. She didn’t have that issue here, the worst thing about the desert was the sand that infrequently blew into her eyes. Other than that it was all smooth sailing.

She’d make her way over to Teacuptempest humming lowly as she surveyed her work. ”Looking good” She’d coo before heading away to find a good place to start her own. She knew it wouldn’t turn out well but she could try, it seemed fun enough and she had come up with a task. To begin with she’d begin to dig, kicking sand behind her as she tried to create some sort of moat.

    ”SPEECH.”

  • Cray had never built a sand castle before. Rarely did he come across a beach, or even a lake with a decent supply of sand. Thus, as he approached Tempestteacup, his head tilted to the side, his gaze flickering curiously up and down a structure. It looked like a form of art, right? He could get behind that! His gaze took only a moment to glance at the vaguely familiar form of Ver Million before he settled himself down nearby, his gaze focused as he tried to figure out how one could work such a fragile material.

//sorry for the lack of a decent post <3 im struggling w/ a headache rn

THEY CALL KIDS LIKE US VICIOUS AND CARVED OUT OF STONE

It was a lot less creepy than it sounded, but Fourth had been watching Tea for the last several minutes. At first he had thought that maybe she was setting up for some sort of event- she'd brought out enough shovels and pails to supply half the clan, after all. And Fourth had anticipated joining her, figuring she was doing some sort of sand sculpting, and waited for her to call out. Instead, Tea settled down to get to work on her own, leaving Fourth in a highly amused, highly confused state as he watched her begin building what appeared to be a sand castle.

"That's a lot of buckets for one person- you must be planning on building one hell of a sand castle." Fourth would call with a grin as his large paws began to lead him forward, noting that it wasn't such a bad idea. Shit, with the amount of sand they had they could build a lifesize one to mess around in if they wanted.

PLEASE NOTE;; Fourthwall is known to break the 4th wall, as his name suggests. He is a person who -instead of gods or reincarnation- thinks that he is just a character made up in a story, and so nothing he says or does has any real consequence. This allows him to suppress emotions like guilt or hesitation in order to enrich his life, as he believes that nobody is actually real, and so none of the bad things he does to others in order to enjoy himself are real either. He will often refer to his 'Writer' during 1st person posts and complain about the way they write him or his story, and is convinced that the entire world and FF's reality is just some big story.

  • He really wasn't the type to come down to the oasis often, but he followed behind the others as they ventured out to find Tea. He didn't really know what to expect, maybe a new body, she had been shifting her form a lot lately, but he really was surprised to see some sandcastles being built. His eyes shot to the water that was slowly drifting up and away from the coast, his eyes narrowing. He didn't like water, scared of it, he couldn't swim and would most defiantly drown, he really didn't want to be near a open gulf like this. So instead, he sat near the rock area, close enough to still see what everyone was doing without saying anything, he didn't want to draw attention to him, especially if people asked why he wasn't near the water.

*:・゚✦ Clove avoided the desert territory of the Solaris Kingdom whenever possible. The overwhelming feeling of sand between her paws threatened to suffocate her with every step she took across the dunes, and her fear of it had gotten no better despite Clove's effort to cut the connection between sand and the brutal assassination of her parents. She had tried everything - scenting lavender and thyme to try and calm herself as she stepped out onto the dunes, and even ingesting poppy seeds at the same time so she was mildly sedated and thus less sensitive to the sensation beneath her paws.

Nothing worked. Panic still gripped her the instant that Clove took her focus off staying composed.

Flying seemed like the only reasonable option for traversing the desert, but Clove had not yet attempted flight in this new body of hers - and it would take moons to build up the muscles in them once she did so. For now, she had to choose between whether she wanted to be chained to the Kingdom's non-sandy terrain, or whether she would fight her nerves and walk on anyway.

Clove was choosing to do the latter, and it was exhausting her. Although no-one had seen it, the kitsune had experienced a panic attack for the first time since arriving in Agrelos only yesterday.

The idea of anyone witnessing such a physical sign of her fear was terrifying to Clove. It would be unbelievably shameful, but for some reason, she had decided to take the risk and follow her clanmates out towards the oasis. Her whole body was tense as she forced step after step, honey eyes locked on the horizon and not on her cinnamon paws.

Like Daniel, the rocks of the oasis would offer respite from the fear - if only temporarily. There was still a journey back, and it had taken what felt like hours to get here, but Clove had made it without giving into her terror.

Her legs were shaking as she stepped woodenly forwards, making it to where Daniel was sitting. Clove let out a juddering breath, too unsettled to care that Daniel may catch onto her discomfort. The guild head wasn't taking part in Teacuptempest's activity, so maybe he had a reason too. Or he was just tired.

Clove felt bad that she wouldn't be able to participate in the competition, but having a panic attack down there would kill the festive mood. My flailing limbs would probably destroy everything anyway, the late-princess thought darkly as she moved to sit beside Daniel, casting him a glance in greeting.

  • ❝ BITTERSWEET ❞ sandcastle. cocoa loved making sand castles and enjoying the rays of the sun against his back. the large dragon did have a size advantage here, but cocoa would play fair.. though he had to admit he was competitive as hell. digging a small hole in the dirt, the dragon puckered his lips, spraying a small bit of water in the hole so he could have wet sand before the 12 foot beast sat down and got to work. this would be very fun, he knew that.

*:・゚✦ Tea glanced to each of her clanmates as they joined her - a gentle nod of thanks to Ver and a gentle smile to the others, she glanced to Fourthwall about his comment. "Oh no, the buckets are for everyone, not just me - feel free to join in. If you need help filling the buckets, just let me know." she explained, before sitting back to watch all the others build their own castles too - this was fun, relaxing for once.
